"The Downton Abbey Suite, arranged for solo piano! I hope you enjoy this slightly condensed version of the original, in celebration of the new movie "Downton Abbey: A New Era" just recently released. Writing this 340 bar arrangement came pretty quickly, but memorizing all the little variations throughout took a bit more time!

This is (in every sense of the word) absolutely amazing. It does not feel like the music is a byproduct of mechanisms in a piano, it seems like the music is simply flowing out of your body and soul on its own accord. I loved this show so much that after the second season, I started paying for a VPN so I could watch the ITV versions of the remaining seasons 6 months before they aired in the U.S.

Beautifully done, best solo suite I've heard. Heck, I even recognize which segments belong to which character; Tom and Sybil, Mary and Mathew... Thank you. In order to smooth the rigours of classic music (I love Bach, for example) I took on to melodies and blues which can be also demanding. Compliments for your work!

It's been a month and I’ve played bits and pieces with your sheet music, mostly memorized the first page. It brings me so much pride and joy to just play it, period. I’ve played bits and pieces of other songs like Interstellar and Chopin's Raindrop. But if I can finally play this from beginning to end, it would be a lifetime achievement (it could take me that long, haha). And then sometimes I just come back and listen and watch this video. I’ve also been listening to your songs on Spotify and watched some of your teaching videos. What absolute gifts you have given the world with your performance and interpretation. You make one instrument sound like an orchestra and you make that piano come alive, speaking, singing, dancing. This is artistry, folks! 👏👏👏

I really love the piano; how it marries pressure/touch and sound! Making music is like dancing on the keys 🎹 It’s good I don’t have a piano anymore because when I do literally all I do is want to is practice 😊 Love listening to you & others instead for now! Watching good playing is delightful! And I use good VERY sparingly. My other fav is Nick Van Bloss & another guy that studied at University of Alabama and Eastman… Tabb Dendy, oh and of course Andre Watts. All very passionate musicians ❤️ best of best. After 8 weeks of lessons having never played before my first recital was 3 pieces from Anna Magdalena Bach ans shortly after I was plowing into Bach Inventions etc. Such an amazing thing… piano literature can’t get enough. Thanks for doing well and promoting & making interesting/relevant this wonderfully enriching experience of piano music. You’re making a marvelous contribution! If I can ever find time to work the Wonderer Fantasy and the Goldberg Variations before I die I will be very happy indeed ❤️ I have listened to those probably hundreds of times 😊

It’s a path I nearly continued myself in college but God called me to other things since. It’s hard to believe 25+ years has passed since I closed the fall board the last time on my Mason Hamlin. Then I was working on Beethoven Sonatas, Bach as always. Brahms 3 intermezzi, Albeniz and Debussy. Ahh… such wonderful literature ❤️. Your playing is such a recent blessing to my soul! Thank you 🙏

@@CharlesSzczepanek It’s sad really. It was my grandmothers… she studied at Birmingham Southern. Was an AMAZING pianists/music teacher as well as accomplished primary educator. To your question, her father gave her a brand new shiny black AA around 1924. Her goal at the time was to be a touring concert professional. It was cherished for many years. We had it until 1995 when circumstances dictated we sell. The happy ending is we sold it to the man who had worked on it. He’s a world class piano builder/technician so it went to a very good home. Maybe we’ll get it back one day? Now, though, I’d love to practice on the carbon fiber action. We are long-standing Alabama people and now live in FL ❤️

The WNG actions are amazing, quick, precise, and yet not too light. I used to record on a 2013 BB that I helped my church in Arizona purchase. It was a GREAT piano and I'll be going back to perform on their concert series and on it later this year. Very much looking forward to it! In the meantime, I've found a fantastic tech for my Kawai at home and I hope to purchase a second instrument sometime in the next few years... 7+ feet, Steinway, M&H, or Yamaha very likely. Yamahas new top end pianos are quite fantastic, despite the brand's association with many more pop artists than classical. I had a chance to demo the brand new redesign of the CFX in Arizona about a month ago... it was a really fun hour of recording on it! I'd probably be looking for a really nice rebuild on a 1910ish Steinway B if I went that route. M&H I'd probably "settle" for a BB, but their VX-CC is really a great piano, just a little difficult to fit 9'4" in a home haha. On the off chance I could find a Hamburg Steinway C, that'd be super.
