Man you'd be surprised how much one of those cheap dedicated little tweeters can clear up your system. I have a decent system in my truck with infinity reference series speakers and it sounded muddy to me no matter what I did. I bought cheap no name tweeters off Amazon for $15 (bit more because I'm in Canada) and it honestly sounds night and day different. I've put that cheap set in a few different stereo setups now and it's not even comparable before and after. They are worth your time and money.
I put my tweets on a separate amp it was the dial amp from wall Mart..because I still have my factory head unit in and it would bring the hi great down
Cool video bro u made that shiznit look easy we're u from bro i wanted to get some door mids and highs but all the shops we're im from won't cut the door panels even though i gave them permission it's just craziness maybe u have some videos on that to i subscribed to ur channel so il start getting more videos thanks ✌🏼🔈🔉🔊
I just want to correct a comment you made about the speaker wire, negative always has the black stripe and positive is always a solid color! If you use your own wire not from a wire harness it may have another color for the stripe on the wire but i would still use it as negative because you are most likely to wire it into your radios wire harness and can cause you to reverse the polarity in your wire hookup!
Just want to correct this as some cars(mainly toyota) use green for negatives and grounds incase anyone can't find a white and black stripe wire lookfor a green.
I’m thinking of upgrading the speakers in my 2005 F150. My front doors actually have mounting holes for tweeter, but I currently have none there. I was thinking of buying a component speaker set and putting them in. Since they’re in the door, I could just wire them into the woofer (the “proper” way I guess), but what is that exactly? Do you simply wire the left tweeter to left speaker and vise versa? It just splices into the speaker it’s paired with?
@@brycebowers6959 Life got in the way. I did the door speakers, it never got around to the tweeter. There’s a place for them, you just have to mount them with a make shift bracket. Get an inline crossover (if they don’t have them built in) and tap into the speaker wire. I will tell you, part of the reason I didn’t do it is because I was told you really need an amplifier to get the full effect with them.
If I have a cross over can I wire it to a door speaker? I have a small pa speaker in the front connected to my door speaker it works fine would I be able to wire them to the door speakers?
Lol he did more work than he had to. If you have pulled off the door panel you could have fished it through the door boot plus you could have added the crossover filter box
Oooh first thing i saw in your video is open dashboards...tells me immediately not "easiest". Im too afraid to crack the dashboards open. Can i just "tap" on existing wires in the doors?
I used regular Walmart ones they work pretty God the ratings are 4 out of you and I didn't put it because on my head unit I can switch how much voice I want on the tweeters
Its good your learning. Keep it up. I could be like the others and tell you the reasons why this is not ideal but instead I'm glad your into car audio. Keep at it!
This video saved me my life! I am a lot less confused, and half of my car is torn out, but I planned on replacing the whole front of my car at some point any way. Wait, our wires don't match... Your white wire is my red wire, sooo is every other wire the same? Do you have another video?
Please don't play with car wires if you don't know the basics, use a volt meter to play it safe, crimps and insulate every connection. despite being low voltage car speakers without capacitors or failed capacitors can have your wires get hot enough to melt through plastics without blowing a fuse which is why amps and cross overs are important not just for sound quality, headunits have a small capacitor in them but if you run more than 4 speakers plus extra tweeters they usually get over worked and stop doing their job. If you are adding new accessories like amps, spotlights or winches make sure you use a suitable fuses and AWG wiring and scrape paint off for any new grounds you add as it won't ground well through paint if at all. Hope you managed replacing your speakers safely, once you learn the basics of using a volt meter there is nothing in a car electrical system that you cant diagnose or fix
You should never hook your tweeters up to the same power as your speakers... they're not meant for that much power and you'll risk blowing them up instantly
Thanks for the vid man. Question: If the tweeters are installed without the crossovers, will it blow the tweeter? My dealer installed the new Polk tweeters for me and they almost instantly blew, then I noticed the crossovers were still in the box. Any thoughts?
+Mark N I have mines installed without crossovers and they work fine I just lowered it in the head unit in the menu I have the option but they sound perfect thanks for the support !
Most people don’t pull they’re entire cars wiring to just install some tweeters lol. I’ve replaced all of my door speakers and three in an aftermarket amp and a ported 15. Everything is cleanly done and tucked away with all the original clips, fasteners. Just because this guy is disorganized doesn’t mean everyone else doesn’t care.

@Fat Italian Hi do I need it if I don't have base only front speakers and tweakers
@Fat Italian Thanks for the help but I just read that it already had crossovers in the Twitter I got

These tweeters have built in capacitor, you should mount them dual dash or inside of side mirror for better front staging

make a video of you cleaning this car now!!

LMFAOOO
Yea no kidding. Just because you have an old car doesn't mean you should neglect. Everything looks better clean.
So I need to put this in there and that in there got it 💯💯🤦♂️💪
Yea from there to there and the wires and just connect it to that cables and yea .
You'll instantly blow your tweeter if you wire it directly to the harness lmao

Can’t do that
Like I explained I didn’t want wires hanging

This shit had me rolling!
You could have just pulled the A pillars off a 2002 Lancer LS and then it would look super clean
You can’t see any wires here
It's hard to find worse spot for tweeters.
Clean that rolling trash can and that's some heavy wire for tweeters.

It’s down to earth, for the most part. However I’m going to look at others as well

I don’t think you can I tried it but since it’s plugged to the stock stereo it burnt it because it was too much power

How is that easier than to tap into the door speaker? Lol
sir,
what are speaker and tweeter ratings?
no need to add capacitor?

Mark N no.. you should always use a cross over or bass blocker
Mark N Polk shoulda had the cross over Buil in the tweeter..unless you had a component set
I had it for 3 years never blew!
You didn't show how to actually connect the wires
You plug it into the front door speakers negative to negative and positive to positive
this is a very messy install
This is the hardest way
This is the cleanest way !
This is why I would never buy a used car if the factory audio has been messed with.
