  • In this video we explore the incredible Diani Beach. Probably the most beautiful place I have seen in Kenya so far.
There is only one thing that annoys me (and many other tourists coming to the coast of Kenya) and I will share it with you in this video.
I will also explore Shimba Hills area and Chale isand.
Sit back, relax and enjoy this video.
P.S. let me know in the comments below if you have ever been to Diani beach and share your experience below.
    Best,

The white sandy beaches are just like the Maldives, for a fraction of the cost. (The coconut should have been ksh 100. Disappointing to see the locals take advantage of the tourists).
i have never been to Diani beach but i do think it is stunningly beautiful!!
Kenya in a small country but there is so much diversity in the landscape, it is just a very beautiful country! The locals are so much more friendly and kids all smile in Kenya. (Unfortunately the tourists have spoiled the kids offering them money and chocolates etc, so they ask for it now). The Tourism Ministry needs to fix the problem with the harassing and intimidating hawkers.

Week ago back to Europe, Lithuania. Had a week holiday in Malindi. Your point about beach boys, is very important and i don't understand, why goverment do not solved this problem. As you say lots of tourists stay in hotels, go to safari or other activities with guides, but avoided to go alone in beach, because of this sellers. Its very sad that you can't go 10 metters from hotel to ocean because near your hotels always, waiting 10-15 beach boys. Of course thei do not hurt, but still its not nice feeling, to reapet 50 times NO, while going 10 metters from hotel to ocean and back.

Hi Gabi, me and my family were just in Diani too. As you said, the beach looks like paradise, BUT, as soon as your feet touch the sand you are hounded by the salesmen. If you tell them no, they walk alongside you still trying to sell to you, if you tell them you have no money on you they then ask you for food and if you say no to that we even got asked to give them our clothes. I tried telling some of them that this was my first holiday in 5 years and they were spoiling it for me and my family, but they just kept going and going. Really detracted from our stay and we will NEVER return because of this. Sad but true. Cheers Mark and Jane.

But the ones you should be losing faith in are the ones who run the country and don’t give adequate education and adequate chances for people like them who end up in a life like this. Imagine how much money that is to them compared to how much money it is for Gabi. I’m sure he has a family and kids he’s struggling to support. In January 2021 i visited Mombasa and enjoyed that as well. Im yet ti visit Watamu. That motorcycle rental is priced well ($10/day) i may get that next time i visit. New sub loving the content. That coconut vendor did give that place a bad vibe and i agree something needs to be done about that aspect. Kenya is a beautiful country and beaches overall, cant wait to return.

Sorry, to hear about the guy with the coconuts. Hopefully he will put that money to good use to uplift himself and his family. Let's hope.
Unfortunately there are always those scammers that accumulate at any of the tourist areas in the world trying to take advantage of the tourists.
It would be good if tourists would complain to the Tourism Ministry about these hawkers and their harassment.
Hopefully a Kenyan/journalist can use your video to point out the problem to the Ministry so that they can do something about it.
I saw it happening Zanzibar to YT vloggers and it looked very bad, i didn't know it was also happening in Kenya. Not good. Tourists come for a nice peaceful holiday.
Yes, i can see why Tourists would not want to return to Kenya with the constant harassment. And so many livelihoods are dependent on Tourism.

It looks like you are falling in love with Kenya, Gabi. It is a beautiful country. I am sure you miss Plou, hopefully you can return with Plou and have a wonderful time without worrying about posting videos to YT. If I were to guess Thailand and Kenya must be your two favorite places.
I like Kenya a lot too, but it is a little more expensive. I love nature and wildlife and Kenya has incredible places like Masai Mara and Ambosi National Parks - the only true Garden of Eden. I also like that they do have many different religious groups and no one religion dominating everything.
I am not a religious guy, as i see religion as an instrument that divides people, more than it unites, and each community feels their religion is more superior to another.
I do like the Buddhists even though i was raised Christian. They let people live their lives, unlike other cultures that have a place of worship on every corner, radical hate groups, or call to prayers constantly or revered animals on the streets all over the place. I dislike it completely. And then there are the politicians who use these religious communities to attack another community and sadly people get killed all over the world. It is very dangerous to mix politics and religion but that happens a lot in Asian countries.

Also wird man alle paar Meter angesprochen.
Das ist wirklich ein großes Problem und hat auch unseren Urlaub beeinträchtigt.
