"There's too much clothing" - whenever I find myself in a department store I'm always amazed at how much clothing there is, just a random collection of poorly made garments with no cohesive theme, and most of them will never sell. It's a very strange business to me.

Between Hugo Jacomet’s books and their respective channels, I have learned and discovered so much about craftsmanship and tailoring. It has influenced my choices and have been responsible for many of my sartorial choices in my journey. From my first made to measure shoes and suits and now finally bespoke garments, accessories and shoes; the craftsmen I have met are largely thanks to these two gentlemen.

Just writing this as you comment on the counter culture aspect of quality goods. Definitely something there I think. I'm way too late to seeing this on day 1. However, I'm glad to have come across your content and Kirby's content. In fact, it was one of Kirby's shoe shining videos that brought me into this community (thank you, CZcams algorithm). And, as someone of the latest generation(s) - it's a grey area, being born in 1996 - I want to ensure that as many of my purchases last; something I'm diverting away from my parents about. I must thank you two for that introduction a few years back!
Hopefully one day, I'll be able to enjoy bespoke clothing the same way you all do! It's tough to do so in a more physically active field of work, and not so much opportunity at this time to dress more classically.

Good for you! I also discovered classic men's dress from Kirby. it could be because I live in Canada and the CZcams algorithm searched American videos first. After watching Kirby and a couple of other American classic dressing content providers I realized that classic yet stylish men's wear isn't boring. And given I'm a female I am now quite envious of how good a well-dressed man can look. Women's wear just has far too many choices in styles and fabrics and few women can pull off a well-curated timeless wardrobe. I'd love to have a pair of even Carmina shoes but I have too many problems with my feet. I won't even go into my love of suit fabrics; it's like falling into a vat of chocolate for me!

I actually want a pair of Carmina shoes but I have a lot of problems with my feet... but I dream maybe one day.

Hugo, you should introduce Kirby to the brilliance of two young NY tailors, who you profiled in an article in 2019 - Joseph Genuardi and Yosel Tiefenbrun. In the comments section of a couple of recent Kirby videos, he was unfamiliar with these rising master tailors. I have had Joseph make several suits and it has been a fantastic experience. A video with Sven Raphael Schneider, the unrepentant dandy behind the Gentleman’s Gazette, would be good content.

It Is Great That Mister "Hugo Jacomet;" Mentions His Craftsmanship of His "A Parisian Gentleman;" Book. When I Attached Myself To This Book and Drew Artwork Pieces; From Certain Focuses of The Camera Which Stood Out To Me; Namely In Regards To "Lorenzo Cifonelli" and Other Majour Contributours To Sartorialism; I Knew That Not Only One of These Books Were The One For Me; However, There Would Become Several Purchases of The Book Which Were Necessary For Me. I Not Only Had These Books For Myself and My Close Friends; I Even Offered Theme To Several Altars; As Offerings To "The God of Heaven!!!!"

A wonderful interview and a delight to watch. Clearly though I am always not satisfied. When I saw the other conversation on Kirby’s channel I left a comment saying the only thing missing was a few cigars being smoked. And here you both are enjoying your Cuban cigars. Now the only missing on this version of the interview is a beautiful woman !! Ha ha I know of course Sonya is behind the camera this time. Thank you both for taking the time to film this delightful and enjoyable meeting of two lovely people on Sartorial Talks. It brightens up a cold January here in the U.K.

A pleasure listening to two greats together. I´m a follower of both of you. It´s clear to me that we are a niche audience but more than enough to make us happy, and you guys too. Any successful entrepreneurial initiative deserves to be known and in most cases it´s fun to listen. And it always has to do with doing what you love. Agreed, totally countercultural in post covid times. In my personal experience I take some guidelines and ideas from your videos.

Thank you Hugo for all of the passion you put into sartorial men's wear. BTW the cigar you're smoking happens to be the same tone as your pocket square and eyeglasses!! I'm a 74-year-old Canadian who grew up in a family of women who were expert garment, drapery and upholstery sewers. I didn't have a bought coat until I was 16 as all of my clothes were made by my mother. The quality of fabrics was much much better. In the 1960's my mother and aunt would buy Italian knit suits and high heels to wear to work. The suits cost one months salary and their high heels cost 2 weeks salary. They thought nothing of it as they got very good use of them. But as clothes became cheaper and more plentiful we all started to wear cheaper but more clothes. If it wasn't for the internet I wouldn't have slowly discovered over the past few years, the number of high-quality men's and women's wear brands, and I wouldn't have discovered the incredible fabrics suitable for suits, coats, dresses, etc. that are available in the UK and Europe. I'm taking a tailoring course and I managed to get high-quality linen from Lithuania that exceed anything the same price as here in Canada. I would say that only 1 in 50-100 people I see when I go out look well-groomed and dressed now. We really need to get back to learning how to dress with more style again regardless of our budget. I've discovered the beautiful shoes that are available for men that start at around $250 USD and go up to thousands of dollars for bespoke. I stare at the beauty of them - the style line, the stitching, the patinas, the laces, the mix of materials, and then the socks available that complete the look of the shoes and outfit! And I'm a female! I have learned that how men dress doesn't have to be boring or go out of fashion. I now prefer it over the far too many styles, colours, etc. that are available to women, and most of it isn't worth spending money on.

Hello, Mr. Jacomet and Mr. Allison!
What a delight to see you together! I always enjoy listening to chats between fellow youtubers.
It was interesting to learn about how you discovered your passions and how YHVH opened up opportunities for you and your wives towards successfully fashioning a career out of those passions. A big smile came across my face as your (Mr. Allison's) testimony unfolded. And if I recall correctly, now a day later, I couldn't help but smile throughout most (all?) of the video.
May Yah continue to bless you and your families.
    Warm regards,
    Nicole B.

      @@SARTORIALTALKS Thank you!
In the U.S., I suppose we (English and Spanish speakers) predominately use YHVH (Jehovah/Yehovah) because of the KJV and RVR1960 spanish version of the Bible, but most people say "God/Dios". After I started to learn about the "Hebrew" communities (i.e. Hebrew Roots/Messianic Judiasim/ ect.), I came to find out that there's a rather tendentious debate over the name. I think scholars (world-wide or western and Christian, "Hebrew", secular ect. ) believe it's YHWH (Yahweh). I believe Hebrew speaking Jews say it's YHVH and would pronounce it Yehovah if they were to speak the name out loud. Among the various American "Hebrew" communities, I've heard non Hebrew speakers utter a number of variations of the name: JeHoVaH, YeHoVaH, YaHWeH (YHWH), YaHUaH (YHUH), and others. I hear quite interesting pronuncuations, but I don't remember them all. I even hear the same people changing their choice of pronunciation over time. It's quite the puzzle.
Well, that's about all I know about that.
From one protean nerd to another. 🥂
      Chao!
