From time to time, when maybe work or school gets extra stressful, we all fantasize about just getting away from it all. Going to some secluded cabin with a good book, a hot cup of tea and the desire to meticulously keep track of the weather.
Okay, well maybe that’s just the dream of the man featured in the short documentary Snow Guardian, who became an accidental scientific researcher by just living his life in peaceful isolation.

A large contributer to climate change is animal agriculture(a.k.a. meat industry),with it producing enormous amounts of greenhouse gasses. So one way to reduce this madness is going vegan 🙂🌱🐷🐴🐰🐑🐔🐣🐟🐮

After a bit of research it's about 5-10%, and you also need to be educated on this: Renewable greenhouse isn't bad, it's introducing new stuff into the cycle that is bad. (and also not reducing the cycle capacity) as such a way to increase the cycle capacity is to plant and cut trees and use that wood for long term uses, like for example, housing.
Its not rocket science, its called ICE AGE!, cant wait to see you run from that :)

I think he underestimates just how many people want to live in a cabin in the woods
Just give it a couple years more time until everyone will have internet around the globe thanks to satellites, amazon will deliver anything anywhere using drones and you'll have the option to work from home. We'll need regulation to not ruin the bit wilderness we have by people escaping the busy depression inducing megacities.

Curious about people who decide to live apart. It seems idyllic in many ways, sitting and reading. Yet he's not at all switched off. Really interesting.
I'm curious about the opposite, personally. Modern humans seem to have regressed in unfortunate ways due to the trappings of modern first world society. When did it become standard to rely on consumerism for survival? When did humanity forget that we are part of nature ourselves? Acting like money is a requirement for life only insults the incredible ancestors who invented the tools of currency.
I love being alone but I'm not sure I can be for that long tho🙂

Look at changes in glaciers in Alaska in the past forty years. The Portage Glacier near Anchorage. Saw changes just from 1980 to 1985.
What he is documenting is the accumulating effect of mass-scale wind farms on our North American airmass and that effect on climate. The West becomes drier/warmer (more dust in the snow) and the East become wetter/cooler.

Btw…there is no cleaner source of energy than natural gas from extraction to transport to exhaust…and I don’t have a dog in that hunt.

I've met billy a number of times on my trips to, then later through, RMBL over the years. Gothic is a wonderful place.

Everyone's focusing on the recent decades of change However if you're to go back farther throughout history this becomes less alarming when you see that the earth goes through cycles and changes every so often. The carbon dioxide levels have been alot higher along with the temperatures which resulted in a more flourishing world. The other thing that needs to be noticed and put out there is the fact that all of the planets in our solar system are raising their temperatures. Pretty sure there's no people or vehicles or animals on Venus or Mars which are increasing in temperature at a higher rate than earth

Let's put solar panels on every home, business and covered parking rooftop and switch to electric vehicles making nearly everything we do solar powered while completely decentralizing our power supply and empowering everyone as power generation owners.
Solar power is CHEAPER and electric vehicles are soon to be CHEAPER to make and already are considerably CHEAPER to maintain and operate, especially if charged from your own solar power.
A 3 year ROI (return on investment) for a solar array that will generate power for decades is a no-brainer and the panels can even be made locally too.
