Unboxing and review of the Astro Pneumatic ball joint service tool. Affiliate Link Astro 7865 Ball Joint Service Tool Kit - amzn.to/2NN2EGX Amazon Store www.amazon.com...
Well Brotha! ... For a first time unboxer and reviewer, me thinks you did a stellar job! Keep up the good work! I think I’ll buy one so I can swap out my ball and u joints on my Jeep! 😎
GREAT VIDEO!!! ESPECIALLY BECAUSE I AM NOT A MECHANIC, MORE OF A CITY BOY WHICH I AM NOT PROUD OF! BUT I'M TRYIN TO LEARN MORE ABOUT HOW TO SORT MY OWN CAR OUT BUT WHEN I WATCH SOME OF THESE PRODUCT REVIEWS I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE ARE TALKING ABOUT OR I FIND IT EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO VISUALISE WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT!!
I have a similar but more extensive kit. I found the parts useful but it was very tricky pressing the ball joints back in uniformly. I ended up taking the control arms out and used the adapters with a hydraulic press instead....much much easier. It was OK for getting the ball joints out though but slow.
You've got a good one there.I also have the Pittsburg one .Bought it 7 years ago, probably replaced about 500 ball joint with it.It also works good for u joints and removing wheel studs.Ill bet astro Maddox and Pittsburg all come out of the same factory. As the guy says above always grease the threads and the tool will last forever
Nice review and a great video to boot. I've been thinking about buying this kit got changing the lower ball joints on my 1999 Dodge Dakota 4X4. I'm not sure what size sleeves I need so I'm thinking about also opting for 7868 adapter sleeve set too.
Nice. I don't own one, just have rented them from the parts store the few times Ive done ball joints. Sure does beat having to pound on it for an hour with a BFH.
On ebay you can get the same set, maybe from another brand, for $39. I did, and used it to change the rear balljoints on a BMW740il. Save $600, the dealer wanted $300 a piece. i did have to modify one of the receiving tubes.
Hello. Can you give me your opinion on the quality of the 7897 kit? As good as the mark OTC? Made in USA? Usable at the Impact Wrench? I would like the used on Jeep XJ. Thank you. (salut. Pouvez vous me donner votre avis sur la qualité du kit 7897? Aussi bon que la marque OTC? Made in USA? Utilisable à la Impact Wrench? J'aimerai l'utilisé sur Jeep XJ . Je vous remercie.)
Wow, since when does 7,5 lbs equal 7,89 kg? If they get something simple like that worng, what else can you believe thats on the box? Other then that, nice tool, very usefull!

+Astro Camper ya that fine and dandy if your close to auto parts store that has rental tools but not everyone has that option or wants drive back twice to return it.
I like the fact that your testing your tool on parts that have seen years of road salt. That's a good test, keep it up!

Great video thank you. Now I know tool is Heavy duty.
Use a lubricant on the parts and let soak in before using the tools.

Good Deal Not a bad tool to have in a shop

just keep that jack screw greased because that screw generates alot of heat with potential for strip out.
If it works on Ford Upper and Lower balls joints. It's good enough. As them things can get nasty to knock out...
Good work out on the tool . Thanks
Nice review. Do more for future tools. Thanks
Great review, but should definitely lube up the rusted parts before removing.
