- Cole Porter's famous song modified to "The Lady is a Scamp". Dodge's version of this car was the Dart Swinger. These could be equipped with 6 cylinders or big V8's. A very desirable car today

Nice, had no idea my Plymouth had such class. Thanks for posting
Thanks for posting this.
The Valiant was the only one of the Big Four American compacts available as a hardtop.
Yes, in 1974, but Hardtops were vanishing across the board about this time for most brands. The Valiant didn't have a Hardtop version from 1967 until 1970 (only 4 door, 2 door sedan), when it got a badge engineered Dodge Dart Hardtop added to it's line. Dodge got the Demon, a badge engineered Duster in 1971 also. From 71 till 76, the Valiant was in a hardtop form but it did also lose it's 2 door sedan and short wheelbase 4 door sedan when it adopted the Dodge Dart Four Door body. The hardtop was missing for four model years though. The Duster rear side windows didn't roll down so that doesn't actually qualify as a hardtop.
William Reed I have a 1974 Plymouth scamp! Hard top too, slant 6 💪
@@OsbornTramain I had a 1970 Plymouth Valiant with a 3-speed manual on the steering column!
Wow never realized they tried to aim it at the female market. To me the Scamp and its sibling versions were no frills “Dad” daily drivers.
Valiants and Darts could be ordered with varying degrees of trim. So yeah, you could get the four door sedan bare bones no frill Valiant or Dart, but you could get the many levels of trim, even the hi performance models like today's Chrysler and Dodge Offerings, an RT version etc etc.....The Scamp was marketed towards Women but it seems like the Duster was marketed towards young guys on the go....fold down rear seats for sports equipment....oh yeah, but mean mary jean was a girl too!
@@OsbornTramain my older brother had a 73 Duster his senior year in high school. That car was so popular with young guys. If you didn’t have one back then, you wanted one!
They were still running sexist ads in the 70s! 😂😂😂
