  • Sergio Perez’s F1 career is on the brink of collapse. Despite a brand new two year contract signed just a little over a month ago, his poor performances are causing massive problems for Red Bull. It isn’t just F1 fans who are turning against him though, scenes at Silverstone proved that his own team are trying to get him gone. Many people would argue that he should never have had that contract extension and should have been replaced at the end of last season, so what is going on? Why is Checo still a Red Bull driver? And what is causing the mutiny against him? Let’s check it out.

With that said, their overall image is more important than the amount of money that Checo brings with him. I think that they would rather take the out and pay Checo his remaining contract and bring in someone new. As much as I like Checo, I don't think he'll last very long this season. I believe that Red Bull are in serious crisis and are at great risk of losing the constructors championship.
Mclaren have a fantastic car and are now battling for wins with Norris and Piastri, either both on the podium or in the top five which gives them valuable points against Red Bull - especially when Perez isn't even making it into the top 10, and even if he does, he's picked one or two points, not podium finishes like the previous years that were cementing Red Bulls dominance.
After 12 races in 2023, Red Bull had 503 championship point, in 2024 after the same number of races, they only have 373 - so a 130 point deficit.
Compare this to other teams after 12 races last year v this year
    Ferrari 191 v 302
    Mclaren 103 v 295
Mercedes 247 v 221 (26 point defecit but likely due to Ferrari and Mclarens gains this year).
We now have potentially four teams fighting for the constructors - with a good chance that Mclaren will keep improving and gaining valuable points to pip Red Bull to the finish line over the next 12 races.
Having six different winners from four different teams is a major change compared to last year where we had three winners from two teams over an entire season.
This season is starting to get good, and I can't wait for next two races, and after the summer break.

And you claim RBR has a crisis 😂😂😂😂😂
No they don’t. They have competition. That’s it. The budget cap and windtunnel/CFD allocation restrictions for the Constructors championships working and causing other teams to close the gap in car performance.
RBR has a 2nd driver not performing, that’s their issue and they will take action abt that this summer.
And in the factory they are working, just as at the other teams, on updates for the car.
Only issue is that Checo’s crashes have cost them budget……which means less budget to manufacture new updates…

    k... 1000IQ move...
    Hear me out.
The money your allowed to use each season, does NOT always run from Tax year to tax year(wether thats Jan-Dec or in the UK April-March)
    Now...The theory
WHAT IF... at the start of the season they thought..ok easy clap we got both champs locked.
However, now the car not looking so good n Max has already stated hes driving beyond what he would like to be more often than he wants & Perez's form has dropped off.
what IF they thought when re-signing him, FK it...were only gonna win the drivers champ, so lets use the extra time we(wind tunnel & comp time) get by coming 2nd or even 3rd
to help develop the car a bit better for 2025 to give it one last hurrah( or to hold onto 2nd-3rd nxt year) or... given that its a 2year extension Perez has got, they come 2nd/3rd both this year n next n use that extra time...
TO BE SET FOR 2026.. when the regs change n THEN dump Perez.
This would give them breathing time to not be a midfielder in 2026 as well in the event that other teams do a decent job
They are allowed to start designing t he new 2026 car eithier towards end of this season or when season closes I think
if Perez is not in the bin in the next 6weeks or end of season then i would say my theory grows stronger
They can claim they dont need Newey
They can claim the design team in place is doing the job without him(then why sliding backwards)
They can claim that he didnt have that much impact on the car from start of the season (you can claim that from after the 1st iteration of the car hitting track before any upgrades done by design team n not him)
    but who actualy believes that?
Sorry but if i was them, knowing Reg changes are coming, Taking a hit of 1 or 2 places in the constructors for extra Tunnel n CFD time sounds like a viable option.
all Perez has to do is pick up his form a little by the end of the season to make sure they dont drop lower than 3rd while Max who can clearly Drive the car beyond its means (again hes stated hes doing it more than he would like)

I have always wonder why are we always questioning Checo’s performance, and not measuring other drivers like Leclerc with the same stick? Is it because he is Mexican??? And the only 3rd world country driver on F1 ( before you rant remember Albon is a Brit although it races on a Thai licence, and Zhou comes from the 2nd largest economy in the world)
Silverstone was a “disaster” for checo, but even worst for Leclerc who’s started higher on the grid and finished similar to Checo.
Bad luck getting stuck on Q1 on the same spot Max lost it as well, same as Ricciardo they just were a bit more lucky!
Then what about team strategy? Red bull clearly sacrificed Checo’s race for data gathering and learn tyre management in the race to improve Max chances to win… it didn’t work for either of them.
Let’s be honest F1 is an Elitist sport and for a Mexican seating on the top team does not fare well on certain circles and media outlets, but despite that checo has proved his worth on track and of it… but as mentioned remember, he has the backing on Carlos Slim on of the wealthiest men on earth and also a Mexican so that means a lot of money for RB!
    Just saying…

I don't think Silverstone will be held against him. But he is on thin ice -- 100% due to performance, and nothing else. If his being Mexican was a problem, why would they have hired him at all? Or more importantly, given him the recent contract as incentive to do better, which means staying with the team?
There are plenty of videos out there dissecting Leclerc's recent downturn (and Ferrari's).

In other words, Red Bull does not want the No. 2 driver to participate in the competition with Verstappen. Because this may not only cause both cars to retire, but Verstappen may also lose. Perez himself has no problems. It's just that his car has huge problems. This is unfair training and not taking it seriously all the time. Ricciardo once encountered the same thing. If he’s the only one to blame, then I find it hard to believe that Red Bull would have signed him for ‘25 unless he still had some use to the team in spite of his obvious drop in performance the last year and a half. The only way I could rationalize that was the test driver idea. I guess my point is they must be getting some kind of benefit from him on-track or they wouldn’t have signed him again. Or perhaps they’re just trying to ride out the last years of the current regs. Idk.

    NO GOD, PLEASE NO!
Ricciardo and Perez must know some serious secrets about Horner's life...
There is no other reason that Red Bull still gives those guys a seat in Formula 1.
Hulkenberg in a HAAS, in the last TWO races, scored more points than Perez in the last SIX races!
Someone FIRE Perez, for God's sake!
Ricciardo, in the past 4 seasons, lost to his teammate!
2 yeas in the McLaren, and the past 2 years in AlphaTauri...
    Checo and Ricciardo are RIDICULOUS!

Checho needs to be compared to verstappen. He's his teammate...look at what happened to Bottas even though he was doing his best as a 2nd driver.

In a sport so Elite where only 20 people get to participate every year, and realistically there are 1 or 2 spots available for NEW drivers every year how can you feel bad for someone for being compared to the best? I'm a big fan of Perez but I think his time is up, same with Logan, Zhou, Ricciardo. There are many drivers that are young and hungry and capable of doing a better job.

Even if you compare him to the rest of the field he is looking awful right now - in a really really good car he has barely scraped points for ages. Any other driver on the grid right now is looking more impressive by far. Sad as it is right now he looks like a joke. Where compare him to Hamilton's teammate over the years and all of them are reliably fast, even managing to beat him from time to time - Perez hasn't even been close enough to Max to be of any use to the team tactically in most races...

I honestly believe Checko knows something about Horner’s affair and is making things little more spicy then they should have been.. I have no other logical explanation than this. They (RB) were reacting COMPLETLY different with other drivers in the past and they had far better cards (results) in their hands… just a thought 🤔 cheers! 🍻

    • @Redlingstein

There is no affair. Checo has nothing cos there is nothing. Nobody cares abt texts. In only matters to his wife, nobody else. Checo himself has misbehaved in Monaco, remember…. Cheating on his just become mum again-wife.
And Checo was signed with the assumption that this would give him a more relaxed feel in the car the rest of the season, no pressure. But he has been underperforming after signing, ofc he has a performance clause in his contract, as every driver has.
He brings in a lot of sponsor money…that’s why he got extended. But without performance he WILL GET THE BOOT.

I think the media is in love with getting him out, I reply invite you to look at the onboards of both max and checo and see how Perez car seems not to turn as max car. Even worst max and another drivers they all went out on the same corner with even dryer track, so it seems like a crusade against checo

    • @Redlingstein
      @Redlingstein Před měsícem

Ofc Checo’s car doesn’t turn as Max…. Max can handle oversteer and drives with oversteer on the limit. Checo prefers an understeered car which means you have to wait for the front to turn. That costs time.
The oversteer is faster. The RB20 is oversteer, RBR always designs an oversteer car cos that is the fastest. And Max and Checo’s cornering is completely different. Checo takes more speed into the corner and Max takes more speed OUT OF THE CORNER!
      That is DRIVING STYLES!
Stop comparing them. You can’t. They drive differently!

Sergio's car is not the same as Max's car. And i realy don't understand that no one dare to ask Redbull questions about it. They literally destroyed Perez's spirit and confidence. What Redbull need is a bitch for Max and nothing more. When it all goes sideways, blame Sergio. And look how great Max is 🤡. From a race winner to a driver that falls a second short all of a sudden ,yeah sure, Max is a beast 🙄.

They wont fire him because they are the ones fucking up his car😂 its obvious checos car lacks the horse power and performance to pass a Haas. Its not checos fault that they purposedly sabotage him. They want him to perform even with a rookie engineer that has cost him at least 70 points a season also positions for his lack of awareness of other drivers getting close to checo in qualy and lets not forget the fact that redbull is always experimenting shit on checos car causing him to screw his race. Also max engineer is the teams chief engineer which is un heard of in formula 1. But yeah blame checo you superficial fans
