It's not a console I've ever owned or even played on but they do look impressive here - I really like the look of the Dreamcast packaging which stands out really well - even a common and rather boring SCART lead has a really nicely done design on the box
+keith last I agree, they did a great job making the PAL packaging look uniform unlike with other regions. Some people hate it but personally I think it looks great.

Cheers Stu! Yeah, it was a bastard as well hahaha. It's mostly wine and champagne there (what you can see is the top of a wine rack). As I (sort of) work in the wine trade we always get given wine as gifts, but we hardly ever drink. Had to buy a second wine rack when we moved ffs.

I remember the day I had the Bass fishing box in my hand, but left the store with a third party fishing controller! never seen one since. anyways, cool to see it all, subbed
+Garry Irwin Nice, some of the best Dreamcast games are Japanese only (like my favourite, Zero Gunner 2). I wish I'd bought up a load when the shops were clearing them out cheap, but hindsight's a wonderful thing. Those Bass Fishing sets are pretty rare as Dreamcast stuff goes. Lovely stuff Pete, it's great to see a full PAL DC set in one go like this. I have to say that it doesn't look like so many games when you see them all together, I know they were a serious undertaking to collect though, and it's a lot tighter library than something like the PS2 with its vast amount of cheap shovel ware.
That's a collection and a half mate - impressive! I do love the Dreamcast and it's a console i've got back into over recent years.....every now and again i'll grab a game or two - the last couple I nabbed were SF 3 Double Impact and Power Stone, 2 really enjoyable games. crazy, would love to have a complete set for a console. i tried for gamecube, failed. im trying Game Boy at the moment but its difficult ha ha. especially being a toy collector and not fully a game collector. Dreamcast is great, such a great collection.

The gameplay is really hard to describe so I'd recommend searching for a video, but it's cool that you have a mix of Capcom characters to choose from (like Cammy, Mega Man, Arthur from GnG).

Am I the only one actually likes Moho? I'm not saying it's the best game ever but come on..It's a unique obstacle course like game that's challenging for sure, but very satisfying when you get the hang of it and beat a hard course, and the stages have a very cool flow to them. And with king of the hill and other modes it has a nice variety. If you played it and don't like it then fair enough, but I just don't get all the hate it gets..

Thanks Rob! It is painful buying some of the more pricey shit titles, like MoHo and Taxi 2, but as a whole the Dreamcast doesn't have many poor titles. Yes, Marvel vs Capcom 2 is one I used to play a lot of back in the day. Definitely one of my favourites on the system, and reasonably priced too!

I know they get a lot of shit for falling apart but I love the blue PAL cases. Just wondering how long has it taken you to complete the full set? and the 2 questions I ask every full setter on completion - what was the first game you picked up for the set? and what game/s did you have most fun chasing down?
+shockz16 Hahaha, cheers Adam. I love the PAL cases too, they do look awesome even if they're easily broken. I started going for a full set in March and finished in December, so about 9 months. I did however have 94 Dreamcast games when I started, so that timescale's misleading, so I've actually picked up 125 games in 9 months. I have no idea which was the first game I picked up, but the most fun?... Hmm... Probably Evil Twin and Project Justice, as they're two big hitters taht I ended up getting for free in a bundle. I was convinced I'd have to pay out for those two, but a bundle came up (collection only) in Manchester, and Matt Hartley kindly picked it up for me and posted it. What a legend! Some other memorable pickups were Aerowings 2 (gifted from HoratioVanBasten), and Dragon Riders (which Matt Hartley and Matt SoulFunkRetro bought for me in Blackpool. It was actually the first game that Matt SFR worked on). Those were really nice unexpected surprises.
Absolutly fantastic mate........As I said before Im selling stuff at a expo this month, and things u might b interested in are Shenmue NTSC J with sleeve in nice nick....containes the Jukebox disc. and Shenmue 2 big box with the virtua fighters discs. An sealed NTSC U TimeStalkers......and a very nice big box of Seaman NTSC J with mic and all......let me know, before or if it doesnt sell that mayb u want em ;)

Just re-watced this....Do you still have it all? I was wondering if you could check the product code on that Sega Bass fishing box set...I learnt that it was only released in Australia, so it is PAL but wasn't actually released anywhere in Europe, only Aus. Would be interesting to know if this is true.....and of course awesome collection....on my way there, getting closer haha
+onaretrotip Apparently there's a cover of Soldier of fortune with an 18 cert on , it was removed from circulation so not many about , I have it myself as it might be rare in the future.
Dave Imagamegeek Ah, yeah, I did read about that. Not sure which one I have, but not worrying about variants. Once you get into the PAL variants (different covers/manuals/languages) there are loads and loads, I'd rather just have one of each game.
So I just bought a Dreamcast, and I'm a little confused, but why are his game boxes so much bigger than mine? and blue? lol can someone please clarify this?
Are you in North America mate? NA and Japan got their Dreamcast games in jewel (CD) cases whereas in Europe we got these big blue cases. They're bigger as our manuals are thicker to accommodate several languages. As the video says, this is a full PAL (European) set. Hope that clears it up. Enjoy the Dreamcast!
Great collection! What are you collecting now? By the way not sure why people think Crazy Taxi 2 is rare, I just checked ebay and there's loads of copies going for like £25-30. That's cheap for a retro game today.

Thanks Rob! It is painful buying some of the more pricey shit titles, like MoHo and Taxi 2, but as a whole the Dreamcast doesn't have many poor titles. Yes, Marvel vs Capcom 2 is one I used to play a lot of back in the day. Definitely one of my favourites on the system, and reasonably priced too!

Jokes aside though magnificent achievement. I know they get a lot of shit for falling apart but I love the blue PAL cases.

I started going for a full set in March and finished in December, so about 9 months. I did however have 94 Dreamcast games when I started, so that timescale's misleading, so I've actually picked up 125 games in 9 months.
I have no idea which was the first game I picked up, but the most fun?... Hmm... Probably Evil Twin and Project Justice, as they're two big hitters taht I ended up getting for free in a bundle. I was convinced I'd have to pay out for those two, but a bundle came up (collection only) in Manchester, and Matt Hartley kindly picked it up for me and posted it. What a legend! Some other memorable pickups were Aerowings 2 (gifted from HoratioVanBasten), and Dragon Riders (which Matt Hartley and Matt SoulFunkRetro bought for me in Blackpool. It was actually the first game that Matt SFR worked on). Those were really nice unexpected surprises.
Absolutly fantastic mate........As I said before Im selling stuff at a expo this month, and things u might b interested in are Shenmue NTSC J with sleeve in nice nick....containes the Jukebox disc. and Shenmue 2 big box with the virtua fighters discs. An sealed NTSC U TimeStalkers......and a very nice big box of Seaman NTSC J with mic and all......let me know, before or if it doesnt sell that mayb u want em ;)

Just re-watced this....Do you still have it all? I was wondering if you could check the product code on that Sega Bass fishing box set...I learnt that it was only released in Australia, so it is PAL but wasn't actually released anywhere in Europe, only Aus. Would be interesting to know if this is true.....and of course awesome collection....on my way there, getting closer haha

+onaretrotip Apparently there's a cover of Soldier of fortune with an 18 cert on , it was removed from circulation so not many about , I have it myself as it might be rare in the future.
Dave Imagamegeek Ah, yeah, I did read about that. Not sure which one I have, but not worrying about variants. Once you get into the PAL variants (different covers/manuals/languages) there are loads and loads, I'd rather just have one of each game.

I have a question, does a French DREAMCAST console only work with French games? Or a French dreamcast console can play games from uk, spain, italy?
A French Dreamcast will play any PAL (UK/Europe/Australia) games.
So I just bought a Dreamcast, and I'm a little confused, but why are his game boxes so much bigger than mine? and blue? lol can someone please clarify this?
Are you in North America mate? NA and Japan got their Dreamcast games in jewel (CD) cases whereas in Europe we got these big blue cases. They're bigger as our manuals are thicker to accommodate several languages. As the video says, this is a full PAL (European) set. Hope that clears it up. Enjoy the Dreamcast!

By the way not sure why people think Crazy Taxi 2 is rare, I just checked ebay and there's loads of copies going for like £25-30. That's cheap for a retro game today.
