Recently, a friend of mine asked me what is the difference between the CDCES (Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist) and the CNSC (Certified Nutrition Support). Instead of only sharing the information with her I decided to share it with everyone. In today's video I compare and contrast both exams, their level of difficulty, requirements, &MORE.

Content regarding Dietitians is so sparse on CZcams so I really appreciate you making this detailed video!
Hello, I am Eunjoo Bae a nutrition support dietitian at Bundang Cha medical center from South Korea.
5 years ago, I passed CNSC exam.
Your channel was useful for me.
Thank you.
I will often visit your channel.
This is so helpful! I’ve passed the CNSC exam 3 times, but it is NOT for someone who is not familiar with critical care and nutrition Support. It made the RD exam look like a walk in the park.
You think so? I thought the RD exam was way harder than the CNSC exam.
@@ceceprincess1766 if you can pass the CSG, you can definitely pass the CNSC! Right now, I’m also studying for a CSO, and it think there’s always just a bit of a learning curve with any specialty certification.
@@joghog3279thanks! I'm working on it right now for CNSC. I'm very science oriented. I know it's a hard exam but worth a shot.
Thank you!!!!!!!! I was looking in your channel for this!!!
Thank you very helpful.
Thank you so much!!!!
Thank you for making this video. =)
My pleasure.
Wow , very useful information 👏🏽😳
You're welcome
Hi! Thank you very much for posting this video, as I've been thinking about obtaining both certifications. What materials did you use to study for the CDCES exam? Were there a lot of pediatric-related questions on the CNSC exam?
Does CNSC exam includes pediatric questions?
I do not recall to be honest
@@KimRoseDietitian That’s fine, thank you so much for your reply though!!
Thank you Kim for making this video!!! I am a new graduate and am really interested in getting both of them. Do you think an RD working in LTC could get enough hours to sit for CDCES exam?
Oh yes, of course.
@@KimRoseDietitian Oh cool! I wasn't able to complete my LTC rotation in person so I wasn't sure if there are any opportunities for RD to do nutrition education in this setting. From my understanding, the role of RD in LTC is to improve the quality of life of residents, and it involves a lot of foodservice jobs and not necessarily nutrition education. I could be totally wrong so It would be great if you don't mind sharing more information based on your knowledge/experience :)
Thank you KIM for sharing this information. I´m interested in taking CNSC as an international physician. What books or readings would you recomend for studying for this exam? You know, I don´t want to lose my fee. Greetings from Colombia.
Hi. The ASPEN Adult Nutrition Support Core Curriculum, 3rd Edition
@@KimRoseDietitian thank you so much
I did not know that tracking hours was not required for the CNSC exam. So an intern could study for the exam and take it once immediately credentialed?? Not saying I plan to haha, but just an interesting thought!
Hi Andrew! Yes an intern can :)
