Why just go to a full nelson and not finish him when you have his back?
MrFabiomassid you absolutely could. The aim of the video, the Newsletter etc is to show what the move from the kata is capable of. In combat or self defence you would do what you see as the right thing.
The video has a duration of 3.18 and is spent talking 3,00 minutes to make a ridiculous application, before making a video think a bit because then we all qualify equally, karate is something serious.

John Burke don’t listen to malakes
Each to their own. I can fully accept that the way I teach and what I teach is not for everyone. I am also surprised at how few detractors can ever show anything of their own that's "better".
John Burke these detractors are 2 dan and below as a Sensei and above respects the contribution of each senior instructor
So as a JKA 4 dan I can confidently say they are tweeds who think they know but in actual fact don’t know Jack .... the types that comment on Mike Tysons ‘weaknesses’...,
Therefore they don’t demonstrate because they don’t know
