    You did good Brother! I could see the sun twinkling on the lid of the top box, nothing wrong with that restoration at all!

    Your best video yet.👍👍 I also use anti-rust primer on the inside and sometimes on the outside. I find garage/estate sales $1 spray paint cans to do my boxes as it works for me. New liners are my most $$ costs.😁😁 I found a nasty Snap-on Road Box that I gave $125 for. I needed to decrease 3 times with Dawn a toothbrush and a roll of paper towels. The 30-year-old white grease on the rails was like glue to get off. I did not paint this one and I used Cleaner Auto Wax to make it look nice.

      I am glad you found a good box, these things are getting so expensive, luckily you did not have to paint yours, it is a lot of work!

      @@djstoolrestorations I got lucky at an estate sale and found a middle section with key for $5 made by in Fort Smith, Ark. I did spray paint it black with spray cans also from estate sales. Spray cans is easy work....

    That's a nice hodgepodge of boxes. You wouldn't ever be able to replace it for what you have in it. I saw a Proto rolling base (no boxes) like the one your boxes are sitting on for $20 and I've been kicking myself in the rear end for not getting it. Nice work DJ

    Very nice job, sir. I have my deceased father in law's Snap-On top box that I am fixing to re-do. I appreciate all of your tips, techniques, and insights on a job like this. I also really enjoy your hand tool restoration videos. Following your work, the bluing and heat shrink on an old pair of cutters and needle nose pliers made them both turn out great. Glad I found your channel. Happy sub here!

    Awesome job! I was waiting to see this video. That setup will last a lot longer than you and me will be around for! LOL!!! Hey... I noticed in the back ground a couple of metal-detectors! Any videos of you using them? Let me know! PEACE! (Tommy)

    • @djstoolrestorations
      @djstoolrestorations  Před 3 měsíci

      Thanks, I do not know if it would be a good video, there is a lot of skill and knowledge to using a metal detector, people get sucked into buying one and think they will find treasure, to many variables people do not think about, like moisture content in soil, iron content, trash, depth, machine quality and build quality, and more! I have used my detectors for collecting evidence at crime scenes, and at one time I was a member of a amateur archaeology club and I was still learning so I do not think it would be a good video!

      @@djstoolrestorationsOh wow! Thats cool that you use them to locate evidence! I wouldn't mind doing that myself! I have 3 different metal detectors. Been searching for buried treasure since I was a kid. I, luckily, have found quite a lot of valuable pieces of jewelry (of course it all now belongs to my wife! LOL) Funny thing is, I still get excited even when I only find a nickel!

      @@3zonker88 I was with law enforcement for a long time, if you can, see if you can donate your service with your metal detector to your local police or sheriff office, I live in a poor county and we would use all the help we could, I do not use mine as much now because I work so much!
