I used a Ford Windstar upper split port manifold on a built 3.8 new edge customer car. That upper is worth some serious power and fits better under the hood.

I had a 1988 Volvo 740 wagon that had a Ford 302HO/AOD setup swapped into it. I never had enough money or time to make it really fast, but I did some basic upgrades to it. It was a fun car and I regret selling it every time I see a 740.

The t5 is a great choice for the 240. Yoshi fab can hook you up with a t5 bolt in cross member. BNE for suspension.

love those diesels, I have 2 cars with the d24, they are cool engines and sound absolutely amazing amazing but i have had to rebuild both of them to get them going, I have bad luck with engines when i get them but they both work good now!

Checked the the plate on the barnacle, comes back to a 1988 740 2.3 turbo, seems like its the right plate for it after all.

I've always wanted a mechanical injected turbo diesel like that to mess with and experiment with using motor oil as fuel. We always have full buckets of used oil and it all goes to recycle for free.
Swap the f 150 and Use it as a push/pull vehicle for the yard to get vehicles in and around the shop

5.0 is way out of budget for what they’re doing.

Forget the LS swap, Put that diesel into it, with twin turbo's :D Or get a cummins diesel and swap it. I hate how everyone does the LS swaps, do something fun and unique. I would probably do a 300 I6 ford with a single turbo, putting down 3-400 HP :D Sleeper for days. The SRT 4 swap will be wild, I'm most excited to see that. I have always wanted to get a diesel car of sorts be it a volvo or a VW, would be alot of fun.
The f150 with the diesel would be fun, but i want to see that engine into something and see what you guys can do with it to give it a wee bit more power.

Look into shimming the input shaft on the t5 and get a brass shit cup for the shifter I’ve been 1.4 60ft in my fox body with a 308 and 200 shot. I have over 80 passes on it. But they do break I’ve broke a ton of them

Typically id agree but this v6 has proven its worth and taken an absurd amount of boosted abuse already so it shows potential. Plus we already have it and itll keep the build cost low. Even if it pops replacements are cheap and readily available.

Them d24s make good power on 25lbs f1chity diesel swap
the d24 is slow as hell but in sweden a worn out one is like 1000$ same with the headlights on the 740, around 1000$, plus 740 turbos are pretty rare in sweden. hell volvos overall are getting pricey in sweden because weve been killing them for decades.
We're thinking about compounding the d24 (supercharger and turbo) see if we can put a little pep in its step. Ultimately the pump will be the limiting factor though. Theres alot of volvos here with u tapped potential but not really aftermarket for them in the states unfortunately. We're looking at placing an order for all 3 car with luca car mods and they quoted us $1400 for just the shipping 🙃🥲
