I LIVE LEAVENWORTH LOL
Bruce Dickinson is currently doing a speaking tour hitting US cities soon if not already chance for a meeting and interview?
As a Spokane native, this was fun.
Miles, I still have a Citizen Swing cassette tape. :)
Elizabeth is so kind and respectful to people. A definite role model.
Aww, thank you Mark!
Oh,Hi Mark
@@misugaho2723 "You're tearing me apart!!!"
Easy on the eye too 😮💨
@@maxlockhart6100 Agreed
Next Myles reaction needs to be Alter Bridge - Words Darker Than Their Wings live at Royal Albert Hall!
That's the mic drop moment - that NOTE. Whoa.
I agree 💯
this needs to be higher
Absolutely!
AGREE!!!
I've been wanting this ever since you reacted to "Watch Over You" Myles is amazing and so down to earth! I hope one day you review "Words Darker Than Their Wings" live from Royal Albert Hall!
Yes! Words Darker Than Their Wings!!
YES! We need "Words Darker Than Their Wings" from Royal Albert Hall!
Omg Best performance ever!!!
Indeed! Myles Kennedy is such an amazing singer. Glad this interview popped up on my notifications.
YESSSSSS
Myles Kennedy is the best.
Indeed! ❤
Myles was my old guitar teacher back in the day great guy and so proud of what he has done.
OMG Really!? He's an incredible guitarist right? I just listened to some songs from his first band Cosmic Dust recently which he was the lead guitarist. And those solos by Myles are insane! Myles might be the best vocalist/guitarist ever IMO.
Ya man great guy as well. He tore it up on guitar
@@jeremenelson8146 It's a shame that he doesn't use his guitar skills nowadays. I mean those advanced things. He does some awesome guitar playing in Alter Bridge, but still that's not what he's capable of. He has done some crazy guitar work as the lead guitarist of Cosmic Dust and Citizen Swing. Anyway Alter Bridge is still making music. Let's see :)
Citizen swing was really good I still have the CD somewhere.
Wow, now that's an real honour! Myles is so great a singer and it's frankly mind-boggling that he can play so beautifully too. I may be in the minority but I actually prefer Myle's style of playing to Mark Tremonti's, purely because I respond
to the emotion I feel coming through Myle's instrument. It really does sound like he has taught his guitar to sing too.
Myles is such an exceptional person. I vividly remember the first time I saw him live. He was touring with Slash and performing Guns n Roses stuff - I had no idea who he was, just super excited to finally get to hear GNR songs live. And then Myles started singing and I was like, OMG, that's how good these songs can sound?! But what made it special for me was this moment: The concert hall was packed full with grumpy looking men, not moving or reacting emotionally in any way, even when they played Sweet Child of Mine or sth. while I was just soo excited. Finally I made my way to the front bit somehow, where people where dancing and enjoying the show. And that very moment I emerged from the crowd and started dancing my ass of, I swear Myles looked at me smiling, even waved his arm at me with a gesture that said "You go, girl!". Needless to say, I feel in love instantly.
Long story short, I haven't missed a concert with him since, be it with Slash, Alter Bridge or his solo gigs. He just has this aura of a really kind and special person. And he can sing, ofc.
Oh my word, I could of written this myself!!!
Haven't missed a concert with him?
You travel around to attend all of his concerts?
I saw Myles for the first time with Slash in Stockholm. I made it to the front row and Myles was looking at me kinda a lot because we had really times of our lives - dancing and singing. But the most heartwarming moment was in the end of Starlight when he finnish the song, drums still on and I showed him 🫶🏻, he smiled put a hand on his heart and put thumbs up like he really appreciated we are there ❤ I love this human being to death
@@Gutslinger Lol, what do you think genius?
@@TheOppo22 Well, considering that the comment was made 2 years ago and Myles had 26 concerts in 2021, I think it's highly improbable that she "hasn't missed a concert with him since".
I'm flattered to be called a genius though. It feels good to help enlighten all smooth brains who ask. :)
He is such a killer vocalist!
👍👍👍♥️👍👍👍
We were lucky enough to meet Myles and Slash after their 2010 show in Edinburgh. Slash was signing autographs, Myles came over to chat with my daughter who was just blown away by how delightful he was. Modest guy with an enormous talent. My favourite live shows. Watching him be so emersed in the moment is a joy.
I didn't know that I needed this interview so much!! But I need more Alter Bridge's reaction videos too 😊
We all need more Alter Bridge in our life.
agree 😁😁
If their release schedule remains consistent (AB album every three years), then we can likely look forward to another record some time next year!
@@Ghostblock And you are so correct! Every 3 years, new Alter Bridge.
@@Ghostblock They will start AB7 in April 2022 I think... I'm always excited with a new album of these guys, together or solo 👍
I remember the moment I discovered Myles and the Mayfield Four. I was 17 and there was a concert at Riverfront Park in Spokane. It was a weird lineup of bands, but enjoyable, and then Mayfield Four came on and blew the rest of them out of the water. The energy in the crowd surged up for the first time in the whole afternoon. When Myles started singing I was like, "Who is this guy? He should be a rock star!" And then he started in on a guitar solo and the kids lost their minds. I remember watching him play and praying that one day I would find something I felt as much passion for as he clearly did for music. I told my guitar teacher I'd seen the show and he said in his opinion Myles was the best guitarist working in Spokane. So happy for his continued success. Thank you, Elizabeth, for this interview and this whole interview series. Long, in-depth conversations like this are so appreciated.
I met Myles a couple of times almost 20 years ago when touring with my little cousin's band 'Logan' whilst they supported Alterbridge around the UK and Europe. He and the rest of the boys were a credit to themselves and their genre. Smart, bright and clever at business too.
I was introduced to Myles and Alter Bridge by Elizabeth's "Watch Over You" reaction, and was blown away by his voice. Myles is considered a modern rock god, but I get major Tom Petty and NeilYoung vibes from him. Obviously his vocal ability is on another level but he seems to have an old soul. Looks like the Charismatic Crew has produced another fun. informative conversation between individuals who are as charmingly real as they are freakishly talented. Friday now seems Myles away. 🤘
Awwww. Myles away. You're always so good with words!
Check out Watch Over You live at Billboard version. It's the best live version of that song vocals wise :)
Such a pity the comercial hard rock scene was completely decimated by having tv and radio closed off to them. The old big acts kept chugging along, but new development is almost zero.
On a slightly cheerier note, you love black humor too, right?
Listen to his solo song "Haunted By Design". He definitely has an old soul in him.
Myles Kennedy: "I live to deliver." Enough said.
Aww, that was so adorable at the end. He didn't wanna shill, he just wants people to listen to his music.
Am I exited? You bet I am!
Myles is hands down my favorite singer of now.
Myles is such a sweetheart and a incredible musician ❤ i love him so much
It’s nice to hear a musician of his stature who is comfortable in his own skin and doesn’t have to drop an f-bomb every 5 seconds to bolster his rock star image.
Myles rarely swears, has never sworn in an AB studio release. He has live, but that’s just in the moment
@@kierangibson9103 The guys from the Slash-Lineup literally gave him the nickname Myles "Fucking" Kennedy because he apparently likes saying that one a lot.
@@night31869 probably does with his friends off camera, doesn’t do it on camera much at all
@@night31869 it goes with Todd "Damnit" Kerns
I've seen him live a few times, he rarely talks in between songs, once it was such a contrast to the opening band, who were swearing after every song and during every heavier breakdown in the song.
Imagine a Myles Kennedy and Devin Townsend collaboration, my all time favourite singers. That’s what dreams are made of…
This comment (finally) aged well, didn’t it?! 🤘
Lol! It’s happening 2024!
Now I wanna speak Myles and his friend Ian Thornley (big wreck) touring together into existence!
@@RB-oc7ti I know, dream come true, December can’t come soon enough! 🤩🤘
@@gregburcham1911 It sure did, almost as well as Myles and Devin 😂🤘
28:18 was when I realized that Myles Kennedy is insane. Love you Myles!
Gotta love when a singer busking on the street recorded by a phone sounds better than most professional singers in studio! Serious pipes!
What seems to set him apart from others is his complete lack of ego. At times it felt like he was interviewing you and he was genuinely interested in learning. What an amazing example of talent. They say to never meet your heros but I feel those that meet Myles would never be disappointed.
Yeah, I was impressed by the mix of how smart he clearly was was mixed with the warmth, humility, perspective, and care for others. Seems like a great guy.
The most natural and enjoyable “chat”. What a lovely, humble guy. The fact that he has one of the voices (if not THE voice) of our generation is the ultimate bonus. Thank you @theCharismaticVoice.
Just booked ticket for O2 Bristol, England!!!
He looks like Kevin Bacon, his speaking voice reminds me of Christian Slater, and his singing voice channels Geoff Tate.
Loved getting to see Alter Bridge perform Kashmir. Feels like aeons ago now 😕
He is a good singer
But definitely not a voice of any generation
@@99Madduxur opinion. He is for me - and apparently many others!
@@99Madduxif people say he is then he is. You don’t have to agree.
Myles Kennedy is a national treasure
Summer Girl by The Mayfield Four has to be one of my favourite vocal performances from Myles
Definitely, glad someone else besides me and a bud loves that song, that one big long note 🤪
I'm going to up every Mayfield Four mention I see.
I have tinnitus as well. I also agree with Myles, it's a weird comforting sound at night alone. I don't even notice a lot during the day if I have company or am around others.
Who else thinks she’s just freaking adorable
In the most hipster of ways I just want everyone to know I and we were watching Liz’s videos before she was interviewing vocal rock gods like James labrie and myles kennedy.
Of all the click bait “vocal coach reacts” channels this is quickly emerging as the one to watch.
Liz hosts a great series here. Star singers recognize the passion. Rando CZcams cruises like me fawn over star interviews. And never would I have expected how fast two hours to by with literally every one of them.
My employer is probably not happy. 😂
I’m not even gonna fix the typos and auto corrects. Live with it, CZcams.
I was here before that too.
And yes. Elizabeth is special. She has this infectious positive energy that just brightens my day, and she really brings these guests out of their shells. Her Devin Townsend interview was epic, he is very humble and nice guy, but also pretty shy and awkward. Same with the singer from Jinjar who is well known for not doing interviews.
This is amazing.
Seriously. PLEASE ..... we need more myles Kennedy and alert Bridge reactions. He's among the very best vocalists of this area.
Amen brother!
Breath Again !!!!
Down to my last !!!!
@@proscubadad Breath Again would be incredible, great example of his abilities

The guitar player for Alter Bridge (Mark Tremonti) has also REALLY come into his own as a singer. “Dust” from his side project called Tremonti would be an awesome song for you to analyze, as he kills it in that song.
LOVE that song!
Interesting how you talk to Myles about Emotion in Song's & how it effects people. I lost my 23 yr old Son & when I listen to Blackbird or Wonderful Life,, it's like a Key to the Soul that allows the pain to flow out. The Word's & the Melodies allows the Emotion out. It's Awesome.
This is NOT an Interview. It's something beyond that. I'm not sure how to explain it but Elizabeth is doing an amazing thing with these conversations.
Thanks Elizabeth and Myles!
I’ve been a huge Alter Bridge fan since the first album. And I’ve watched a ton of your reaction videos, Elizabeth. (Well done!)
I’m a long-time guitarist and percussionist. But the process of exploring my vocal capacity is fairly new for me. Videos like this are amazing for my journey.
Thanks so much to both of you for taking the time to put these things together for the rest of us.
Cheers!
Tim
🤘🏻😎 🎶
I wasn’t aware of his music until you reviewed his live colab of Sound of Silence with Disturbed. Thanks for opening yet another door.
I like how this develops in a conversation rather than an interview with also Myles asking Elizabeth questions. That's the point when I get really interested in such formats (and why there should be more interviewers who are actually at least accomplished musicians).
Alter ridge song shed my skin speaks to me on so many levels. Myles is a godsend.
Elizabeth is so pretty it's ridiculous.
Cool dude Myles as always. I do enjoy Alter Bridge almost on a daily basis. They're definitely on my regular playlist.
She is gorgeous
I would LOVE if Myles and Slash could do a new collaboration w/ Haley Reinhart :)
Yes! Yes! Haley is amazing. Amazing voice and I know Elizabeth is a big fan of hers.
By the way, I would love for Haley to come to Columbia Sc
PLUSH is opening for them in February...a collab with Moriah Formica would be awesome!
Yes!! Haley also has such a gruffy, bluesy rock vibe ❤️
I would like to see Haley Reinhardt do heavy rock
I concur
Cool to see this interview with Myles. Myles' support of our community here in Spokane is really appreciated. A good guy.
Words cannot covey how happy I am to see you interviewing my favorite vocalist (honorable mention to Neil Fallon of Clutch and the late greats, Chris Cornell and Layne Staley) from my favorite band, Alter Bridge. I'm a lifelong fan of Mark Tremonti (Creed, Alter Bridge, Tremonti; all see extensive playtime in my home) and as a guitarist, he and Myles are the guitarists I WISH I could be even a fraction as good as. And, as if that weren't enough to envy, BOTH of them have amazing voices, and Myles is, simply put, GOD-TIER.
Their new album, Pawns & Kings, is just 1000% brilliant from start to finish.
No joke, they are a big influence in my life, so much so that I had "Blackbird" played at my mother's funeral in 2020. She's the one that influenced me to love rock guitar and encouraged me to learn on my hand-me-down Fender Stratocaster (a hand me down from a previous family tragedy). The song was a fitting tribute to her passing.
Myles, brent smith, David draiman...the top 3 in the last decade...imo
M shadows😊
As a fellow tinnitus sufferer, I loved the comments he made about it being like a constant companion ☺
I'm low-key half deaf from being close to the stage over many years of shows. XD
There's always the constant eeeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeEeeEEE.
Love and know this man. Todd Kerns, the bassist for slash, is a close friend. Myles has blown me away for years. Nice, Coffee!! Good luck on tour and be safe!!
Todd has a great voice too! I picked that out the first time I saw Slash. Great companion for Myles!
I'm a big fan of Todd ever since Age Of Electric were making noise on the Canadian Rock Charts. Really happy for his career to find a way to playing bass for Slash and Miles
Todd is an amazing singer too!
Tinnitus is my buddy! I love it. It is accepting it rather than resisting it. 💛💛💛💛
Mr. Multi Octaves! Can't wait
Anastasia is such a killer tune. Great interview.
Myles was my man, he just popped onto the rock scene and absolutely drew such an appreciation for how he sings and plays. He has also been so kind, met you dude at your guys show in Anaheim for the release of One Day Remains. You were super kind my dude. Voice was always amazing.
"Follow your bliss." That is great advice. Life feels much brighter when you're working on/towards something you enjoy and that has purpose.
I am SO STOKED to hear he’s working on ABs 7th album! Alter bridge music ranks pretty high on the list of meaningful musical influences from my youth. I hope they come back to Canada again soon
Miles you absolute legend I can’t wait to see alter bridge this December at the 02
Myles is a legend. Perfect personality, genius in music. I really enjoyed this
Alter bridge is one of my all time favorite bands. Literally any band mark tremonti is in will be legendary. Miles has one of the most unique voices ever
I still remember Myles from the film Rockstar. That man was born to be Badass.
Not since Steve Perry as a teenager in the 80s has a singer affected me the way Myles does. I have such an emotional connection to his lyrics and the way he delivers a song. He is truly a gift to the Universe. Also, I spent many years living in Seattle. The Washington connection brought a big smile to my face.
Saw Myles in the movie Rockstar and then heard Metalingus and I was hooked . Also .. he’s great to listen to LIVE
THOR! GOD OF THUNDEEERRRR!
This was a really good interview. I've been following Alter Bridge since their start.
Breathe Again gives you the range Myles can hit, incredible high at the end of the track
Very underrated!
Myles Is The Best !!
Such a down to earth good dude !
Much love my brother !!
Keep On Rock'n & Roll'n and making Beautiful Music !!
😎👍🌴☀️🔥🎸🙏❤️✌️
It's funny...when I first noticed Elizabeth had interviewed Myles...I thought these two will talk forever because they're both humble, positive and most importantly, music nerds. They're cut from the same cloth. Then we learn (and they did too) they're both from Eastern WA. How cool is that?
Really looking forward to this!
I hope Elizabeth asks whether or not Myles has ever met Kevin Bacon...
I've yet to see them in the same room together... Just saying! If they have met I guess the rumors would be laid to rest.... Maybe.
Intrigue aside... Myles is such a great interview. This should be a lot of fun!
Going to see Myles and Slash in a few months! He does Axl Rose better than Axl Rose these days! Incredible voice and talent! Great tea time chat! Also great to hear he's working on the next Alter Bridge record, can't wait!
Thank you Elizabeth and Myles, this was magical.
Myles is an amazing musician and an amazing person!! 🤟🏻 ️♥️
The song Myles Kenney sang with Saul Hudson (SLASH) that put him on my map was STARLIGHT. It is STILL ONE OF MY FAVORITE SONGS EVER ... Later on you played the Art Garfunkel to David Dreman's Paul Simon live and I actually got a lump in my throat. I love you buddy !!! Everything you sing is awesome !!!
Miles is AMAZING. !!!! Keep Rockin
Elizabeth is such a good interviewer. She’s really insightful, articulate, and comes off as a really soulful person. She’s also quite beautiful.
Gosh😳
Yesssssss!!!
Gaaaaaahhh!!!! FINALLY!!!!! I get to see the two of you together!!!!!
Awesome interview. I especially liked the tie in to Eastern WA.
Greeeaaaat interview. As a metal/rock head it was really refreshing to hear Myles talk about the vocal aspect of things and how he approaches it so that was awesome. I would like to ask or recommend listening to a song called “White Flag” which Myles Kennedy wrote when he was in his old band The Mayfield Four. I’m more than positive that you’ll love it. They only released 2 albums but they’re really great from start to finish but that song in particular just sucked me in the very first time I listened to it.
His explanation of the jazz “expensive” chords over the Rock tonic and 5th is so funny and on point. I don’t listen to alter bridge but I have a lot of respect for all of the band and their fans.
I dont know if ive ever seen a more down to earth and normal guy!! Its so refreshing to see an absolute star, that is like talking to a buddy youve known forever. So grounded
I love that you are experiencing the same music I did in my youth! Xoxoxo

Did you know that Miles Kennedy performed with Haley Reinhart and Slash of guns n' roses at Muhammad Ali's birthday. The video is on CZcams and it's awesome.
Yes Wild Horses and it was killer. Myles' solo part is some of the best 60 seconds I've ever heard in music. Ever. Omg it's so freaking good, he slays it.
Yup wild horses and it was angelic ✨
Double feature! Love this! Thank you Elizabeth!
I am a long time fan of Myles and Alter Bridge and I love him for being such a humble sweet intelligent person. I saw them just before Covid19 arrived, in Amsterdam. I saw Queen with Freddy Mercury, U2 when they where not known yet, all the big metal and rock bands.....Myles and Freddy RIP stayed with me. Their voices, their performances, it will stay special to me till I die. But first I want to see Alter Bridge many more times :D
I have ZERO musical ability but am so touched and affected by the power of music. I feel blessed that music creates such beautiful emotions in my heart and soul. I appreciate the gift of music in my life. Thanks to your channel for showing me there are others like me in this world!
That was such an amazing interview. Thanks for bringing Myles to your channel. 🥰
Yes! I am looking forward to this so much!
I can’t wait! Such an amazing musician!
I was so pleased and excited to see this! Myles is one of my favorites in music! GREAT interview!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love these interviews, you have a way of really getting enthusiastic conversations with people, it always feels so natural
I was thinking today is 29th. So disappointed. Be back tomorrow!!
Thank you for this interview. Myles will go down as one of the greatest vocalists in rock history.
I love how you end the interviews trying to let people know how best to support the artists Elizabeth (even if Myles here seemed a little too humble to mention the best way to buy albums or merch.) As a music lover with a huge album collection and tons of merch I really appreciate you always making that effort!
Kennedy is criminally underrated.
I absolutely love Myles. Super excited for you that you got to meet him and talk to him. Been a fan of his for years and love how down to earth and lovely he is. Great interview!
Oh, wow I didn't know Elizabeths from Wenatchee! Class of 84' here! I knew Myles was from around Spokane. Chris Degarmo is from Wenatchee also, plus Paul D'Amour is from East Wenatchee, I'm sure there's a lot more, I just haven't discovered it lol
Congratulations Elizabeth! Is awesome to see how much the channel has grown! Keep doing different interviews, they're truly awesome
