You need to watch Alter Bridge Live at Wembley version with Watch Over You and Wonderful Life. Myles gets caught up in the moment and choked up at the end. One of the most beautiful moments in Rock history IMO.

Yes, Ignacio’s comment is spot on. “Words Darker Than Their Wings” is a beautiful song and Miles hits a crazy note at the end. The Royal Albert Hall live version is a MUST see. The orchestra in the background adds so much to the beauty of this song!

Fun Fact: Myles Kennedy is not only a singer/songwriter but also an extremely skilled guitarist and former guitar instructor. He has actually given guitar lessons to both Mark Tremonti & Slash.
He´s an expert in blues/ jazz-fusion and flamenco guitar. There´s a video of him jamming with Paul Reed Smith (the founder of PRS Guitars) where he´s playing some really cool jazz stuff & an older video from the 90´s where he´s ripping some Nuno Bettencourt style solos, like it´s a piece of cake.
That guy is a vocal beast... from high to low... from soft to hard. He has a wide range.
I saw Alter bridge live. During this very emotional/serious song Miles was attacked by a bee, squeeled and ran away. Best live moment ever

What's crazy is that I would consider this one of his off nights vocally. He sounds like he could even be sick and nasally here. Search "Myles Kennedy Billboard acoustic" here on CZcams and listen to that performance of this song for example. His voice sounds much brighter and cleaner all around.

Honestly, went to High School with the guy. I wasn't friends with him but we knew each other. Has been fun watching his career over all these years.
What was he like?
@@rigouribe4242 I've toured with Myles and the AB boys and Myles is genuinely a good person. Extremely humble and down to earth. Not some pretentious ego driven artist who acts like they're better than everyone. My real judge of someone and their character isn't necessarily how they treat me. Sure it matters, but I observe how they treat their techs, Venue staff at shows, or even someone like a clerk at a truck stop on the road. Myles is the kind of guy who talks to the truck stop cashier the way he talks to Dave Grohl. I just used Dave as an example as he's a well known person who I've been around with Myles. Just a good guy. Even a little shy at times. Not at all braggadocious, but still confident and secure. Very thoughtful and creative. Driven by emotion more than anything else, like ego or money. I'd say that's a good rough description of what he's like.
In my (small🙂) opinion there is no other singer on this beautiful planet who is so underated like Myles Kennedy. Such range, such power, such diversefication, such empathy, such combination of musician and singer. Love every performance of him!🤘
Myles is a rare breed. His vocal range can do 4 octaves.

Yeah, before he started music (Jazz fusion band, then to Mayfield Four before current stuff) he was a big celeb in the inner circle for guitarists because he was a guitar teacher who could basically teach any genre.
He smiled at the end cause he knocked this performance off this planet and he knew it. He is an absolutely amazing and awe inspiring musician.
Man, if a lady folk ever gave me the look she gives miles when he its those notes I think I could die happy.
I really appreciate her comments. However, I'm here more to watch her reactions while she listens. She looks like a child on Christmas Day, finding and openning the presents.

You can never get sick of his voice. It's magical.
I got to see Myles do a solo acoustic set in a very small venue a few years ago and this was absolutely my favorite of the set. Such a sweet guy too... a couple brought their 5 year old daughter to the show and he brought her on stage and sang to her. Almost brought me to tears. Not just a super talent but also a wonderful human being. I saw Alter Bridge on their debut tour and I've got tickets for their new tour. BTW - Myles was in Rock Star movie towards the end when Wahlburg's character pulled a young rocker on stage from the crowd and then walked off stage and left the band. Young rocker was Myles.

I played “Wonderful Life” to my Dad right before he died. He was not conscious, but I believe he heard it.🥺. Both songs are so beautiful and meaningful, at least to me. So sorry for your loss🥺

Myles is best the live vocal performance that I've seen. Out over 200 plus different singers/bands.
"Effortless power" is the perfect description of his voice. I was impressed by Myles' voice first time I heard him with SLASH AND THE CONSPIRATORS.
Check out "In loving memory" from alter bridge also. just the lyrics and the reason to them is already deep emotional, but with Myles performance it goes right through the heart 😅

The tremors you speak of are because he's known for saying he wasn't comftable singing AND playing guitar... yet here he is doing both. I'm sure he didn't shed all that stage fright even though it was his bandmates that urged him to do both because of how talented he really is

I was privileged to see Myles and his acoustic guitar live for 2+ hours, If i have a chance to re-live any parts of my 56 years on this planet, his show would be at the top of my list.
You should look at his performance singing “hallelujah” with Jeff Buckley’s guitar! You can really both hear and feel how moved he is. Perfect example of how the singers feelings color the sound. Myles Kennedy is absolutely amazing and has a very rare talent! His voice is most definitely amazing, but he has a gift that makes him able to fill his voice with so much emotion! I think he’s very passionate about what he does and allows himself to feel things on stage. Love your videos!!!!
Alter Bridge are amazing. Calm The Fire is an amazing display of Myles' range. Also I would HIGHLY recommend "Starlight", a song he did vocals for on a collaboration with Slash for his first solo album

I've got you on this dude. Love this song done live. I was 2 rows from the front and, and lamely getting this on my phone. Get a call from my daughter, my gig partner, panicking where I was. It was 6 feet away, she was suffering panic attacks. I remind her of it frequently.

It's funny when I've heard songs a million times. Yet when I hear your reactions to the same songs, it's like hearing a totally new song for the first time. The intricacies and subtle nuances that you shed light onto, I find myself like you... stopping and backing up to hear those moments over and over again. Simply amazing..

First time I heard Myles Kennedy was on Slash's live - Made in Stoke BD. What an awesome performance, sliding in and out of so many styles during the performance, and making songs written and sung by other musicians his own. On that live DVD/BD is a short interview where he is being asked how he keeps his voice in shape: "no alcohol, no drugs". And there's the image of rock stars being all druglords.
Slash's first solo album is one of my favorites....so many excellent vocalists, especially Myles's 2 songs. He's a beast

This song i believe is about a friendship he had that no longer exsist due to drug problems.
Oh and I believe personally i have to say this was probably the best show Alter Bridge has ever done, Live at Amsterdam.
If you look at the Billboard video that is also full acoustic(and is usually the first one that comes up, you would definately fall in love with this song and that vocal performance. It's more "studio" but is also live and crystal clean. This was an incredible review.

In loving memory is my favorite song by Alter bridge, the guitarist Mark Tremonti wrote it in memory of his mother the emotion Myles puts into it is amazing, definitely a good song to review
That song made me an Alter Bridge fan for life. The album came out the Friday before my mom passed. I listened to In Loving Memory while driving around later that day and had to pull over to cry. Still my favorite song and band.

Actually, Alter Bridge is all the members of Creed, just a new singer.. They were smart, instead of adding a new singer and still being Creed, they changed their name and identity.
And became a band 10 times better
Scott is a great singer and songwriter, he just had too many demons for the rest of the band to cope with.
He's doing great now he's sober/clean and got his family to focus on.

Myles has said the this song is about someone that has an addiction and they refuse to help themselves and they wonder who is going to watch over them when nobody else is there. I had an opportunity to meet him at one of their shows several years ago and he is such an awesome person.

Others have said it, but you need NEED to listen to "Words Darker Than Their Wings" - specifically from the Royal Albert Hall performance the next time you do Alter Bridge. Probably Myles' most impressive performance ever.
Alter bridge fans are one of the best live sing-along crowds ever! In countless live videos that I have seen, fans are always on point singing along. That is a testament to the songwriting abilities of both Mark and Myles imo.

The live version is soooooo great, because you can really hear the vocal talent... but the studio version with the whole band behind it, is just something different... Still absolutely love your reaction!
Wonderful song, fantastic reaction. This song echoes to me of The Cars' "Drive" in that it's about a co-dependent relationship. I think they used it in an episode of Celebrity Rehab, perhaps even the one when Jeff Conaway died. My favourite version is the duet with Cristina Scabbia.
Myles Kennedy and Chris Cornell are my two favorite singers. Great voices, great lyrics.

Two things that give me chills; Miles Kennedy's voice, and Elizabeth.
Ive seen this band at least 20 times now. They always put on a great show and are some very friendly musicians. First time i saw them they all signed my shirt (still have it), i caught Scott Phillips' drum sticks & MKs and MTs guitar pics (& several times since), seen them talk on fans phone to the fans friends/ family. All of them are great. Cant wait for the next album and hope they one day do a studio acoustic album with the whole band.
Myles Kennedy has worked with Slash on a few albums, the highlight for me being 'Battleground'. It's such a great melody, which Myles sings so well, ending with some super-Slash !

This is one of the best songs Alter Bridge has ever done. Watch Over You is where Myles shines along with his guitar. He creates a beautiful place with his lyrics.
