The biggest problem here, it is that they justice system is only focused on one individual. There are other political members who have done the same thing as Trump, and they are not being taken to court. There is a lot of cover-up to protect other people, which is allowing for these delays to take place. Take them all to court and put them all in jail.

I worked in the court system for 37 years as a court reporter. There is nothing unusual about delays. In other cases, there was no request for a delay. And how can trump prepare for a case if he is on trial on another case? That is not unusual.l

It isn't so much about giving them the power they do have since someone has to do that sort of job It's more about making very sure they are not going to abuse that power by laying out much stronger qualifications and a stronger removal method when they do cross lines.

How come the Jan 6 comittee destroyed its records? Who told the Nat'l Guard to stand down, when the Capitol Police requested help? How come we don't know exactly what every one of the "more than 200" confidential human sources did both on the day and in the days leading up to it? We already know that the FBI and Justice Department routinely give their CHSs permission to break the law in order to entrap ...er ..."bring to justice," their targets. Shouldn't we know the extent to which that happenned Jan. 6? Lots more strange stuff related to that day that the American people have a right to know about.
People keep crying about all of the delays and hiccups in these cases. If you accept that these cases are unprecedented (never happened before to a former president) then it makes sense to accept that it's going to take some time before these cases are disposed of in court. Folks criticizing the judges in these cases are doing so in a vacuum, because no judge has ever had to handle a former president as a defendant. There's no judge to compare Cannon or any other other other judges to, or even the prosecutors for that matter.
What you're saying would make sense if delays weren't for absurd reasons like "hey, lets take a year to decide if president is actually a king" or "hey, lets take 6 months to decide on a matter that has nothing to do with the trial".

All avenues that can be explored should be. This could have been finished long ago. It was the choice of the prosecution to try out the last weeks before an election. Both sides have and will continue to use loose precedence. I am still waiting for the crime he's charged with.

where im from in mid michigan no felonys go to court before 12 months and it will usualy drag on for at least 1.5 to 2 years before a guilty or not guilty verdict is handed down

The charges in Trump's case are quite novel allowing mote time to challenge.
Judge McAfee ruled that the prosecution and the defense cannot bring frivolous motions, so that cuts down on the BS motions the Dump team wants to file. I expect this case to move right along after the ruling on whether Willis stays at the helm of the prosecution, which I suspect will go in favor of the DA staying on as the head of the prosecution team.

Also have the right to request appeals and dismissals if you feel you're being prosecuted unfairly

@@ItsMeCheryl1231 you have a right to request a trial delay. Trump was "coincidentally" charged with 91 crimes all at the same time. Millions of legal documents in evidence. Defense asked for a delay and judge granted it. It's pretty common in high profile cases. You have a right to a fair trial. Rushing a defense goes against that right
They were guilty, Trump is not. That's the difference.
