    This video helped me see more clearly how the connection point to that coolant hose to the left of the oil filter housing actually looks. Last night half of the spout where the hose connects literally broke away due to corrosion. I thought it was part of the actual engine framing, but now I can see more clearly from your video that it's some type of separate spout that bolts to the engine. (whew...what a relief). Much thanks! 👊🏼

      @Gerald G -For the replacement,you can find a aluminum"spout" on Amazon for less than 20 dollars and you will not have that issue again.I just had the same problem 2 weeks ago

    Have you had success using the Bapmic brand valve cover gasket? My past experiences have shown using oem or oe gaskets are only ones that hold up over time .

    • @chadriddle3517
      @chadriddle3517 Před 3 lety +1

      Have you replaced the valve cover gasket ? Also if you don’t use oem gaskets when doing these bmw jobs sometimes they will leak also it’s good practice to replace the bolts also, although the ones on oil filter and cooler are not aluminum ( torque to yield) i would still replace them. Also the torque specs on all the gaskets are very important over tight or under can cause leaks as well. Sometimes if you get your oil changed somewhere they spill oil and it appears you have a leak in the middle of engine. Also important to change all the o-rings in the oil filter housing as well with each oil change . If you car has high mileage 150-200k it’s good idea to replace oil filter cap . If you have the n52 silver top engine when replacing the valve cover gasket it’s absolutely necessary to replace the bolts on valve cover each time you pull it they are aluminum torque to yield an will break .

    My e90 335i leaks from every place that has oil or fluid...even the windshield washer canister is leaking. We have 2 Lexus with 300,000 miles and 180,000 miles on each. NO leaks. NONE. The RX330 with 300m miles starting to burn oil though. I'm a bit in shock why no leaks at all on the Lexus? But every BMW owner I know has oil leak problems with their cars.

    • @chadriddle3517
      @chadriddle3517 Před 3 lety

      Yes it’s the oil cooler gasket most likely, use a oe or oem gasket an use the correct torque values also would recommend replacing bolts just to be safe .
