    The book of Job was not written by Moses. It predates the Pentateuch. Job was not Jewish. He lived in the land of Uz while all the Jews were slaves in Egypt. He was descended from Esau Jacob's brother. Uz was descended from Esau (Gen. 36:19&28) and back then people tended to live in their ancestral lands. Esau's name was changed to Edom. Lam. 4:21 shows the daughter of Edom lived in the land of Uz. Look at old maps of the times and consider where the land of Uz was (after Abraham) compared to where the land of Edom was in the days of the 40 years of wandering in the desert. Same territory different names. The name of the land was changed sometime during the 400 years of bondage.

    One of the biggest points that people bring to me about why christianity is wrong is the Bible. They say there is no way that it can be correct because of the length of writing and the amount of writers and translators.
    I've been seeing christians themselves arguing over the bible translations as well.

    • @jenbr.4073
      @jenbr.4073 Před 11 měsíci

      Hi, friend. The Bible can be compared to a "compiled" textbook. While fifty different authors may contribute, the textbook is still under the control of a chief editor. This ensures consistency throughout. However, in the case of the Bible, the Holy Spirit is not only the chief editor, but also the chief author--inspiring content and meaning, though not dictating actual words. He is the One who guides and protects the accuracy and authenticity of Scripture. If the Bible were only a human production, no one could trust it, but it is a Divine production, and therefore wholly trustworthy.
      As to translations, the best practice is to study with prayer and humility, asking the Holy Spirit to explain His own Word, and then to compare the translation as closely as possible with the original language when a question arises. Since there are excellent dictionaries and resources available, the Bible student does not necessarily need to study Hebrew or Greek to gain access to the original. It is also sometimes useful to compare translations with each other.

    • @BrambleJam
      @BrambleJam Před 11 měsíci

      @jenbr.4073 I use mysword with strongs concordance on my phone, and I have a hard copy with 4 translations I got from my grandmother to check translations accuracy. I get a lot of questions from people about translations, as if it were an "aha! gotcha!" moment when I attempt to explain how there could be multiple meanings to a translated word, which gives differences such as "thou shalt not kill" and "thou shalt not murder" and the like.
      And as for the editor analogy, that is very helpful, as most of the times that gets brought up, it's used to express how unlikely or impossible it could be to have the collection of 66 books all from different authors and periods of time, and still be a cohesive whole. Which, when thay is brought up, it's usually the sort of thing that is, "explain this, you deluded believer," with them thinking there is no way to answer. At those times, with them being atheist or different religions, I can't just say, "God, being all powerful, can do all things. So either you believe God to be powerful enough to cause the Bible to say what He wants, as it is His Word, or you don't believe God is all powerful," because they don't hold the same beliefs as me.

    How did Jesus know He was the Son of God ?

    • @davidstarr6604
      @davidstarr6604 Před rokem

      Luke 2:42-52 Apparently He already knew this at the age of 12. The learned people (didaskalos, translates as doctors and teachers) were astonished at His knowledge of scripture seeing He had no "official" learning/teaching. So someone must have read to Him from the scriptures until He could read for Himself. I'm guessing Joseph and Mary taught Him.

    Saw him on Fox Business in a paid program. Familiar claptrap I have heard many times. Would love to see a conversation between him and Bishop Barron. How can he compare Catholic statuary of the Renaissance with crude pagan imagery from Constantine's time when the Roman church was legalized. And it wasn't Constantine that legalized the fledgling community. He's plays fast and loose with his facts. Caution.

      @ericb5194 Pastor Doug has tackled the LGBT issue a few months ago already. And he made his view on it is crystal clear. 3ABN also covered the issue around the same time. The big SDA preachers have made it abundantly clear what the Bible says about the issue, and also presents guidance on how to deal with the issue going forward. I advise you watch those sermons and let God guide you, hopefully to a different view of the pastors sharing God's Word
