😂😂😂😂
Carried a Tinker for thirty years (back when schools allowed kids to have knives).
I didn't know there was ever an era. Damn that would've been sweet.
@@johnfizzelo3443 Yes, believe it or not, I carried a pocket knife in California schools from 1966 through college in 1978. Back then a pocket knife was what it should be considered; a tool. Now it is viewed as a weapon.
@@winfieldpatterson One of the things I still love about small town East Texas. The rule was always no knives or weapons, but was literally never enforced and no one cared. Even when I went off to college here no shits were given.
@@johnfizzelo3443 at one point in time boy scouts were allowed a rifle and a single bullet to use for shits n giggles. I should clarify it wasn't at a firing range or anything official/regulated. Literally a bunch if kids walking in the woods with rifles on their backs they could use to shoot whatever they wanted. Maybe it was originally intended for self defense against wild animals but lots of them would just shoot wasps nests and other shit
@@winfieldpatterson It's a shame that tools are considered weapons nowadays
my mom took it away because i was compulsively cutting random shit around the house
J K you and me both!!!
Same.. Our poor walls😂😂
J K I’m 28 and still compulsively cut things and drill holes with awls 🤷♂️
that is my life story
In to clothes
My sd classic story is kind of amazing. I got it when I was 5 years old. When I was 8 we moved and I couldn't find it. When I went back to that house I moved from some 25 years later my sd classic was STILL on the top shelf of my childhood closet! I now have it put away where I will never lose it again.
The4cp Lol, that’s awesome!
I have the Classic my late granny had for ever.
I had Victorinox knives since I was a kid and always considered it a tool and never a weapon. So I always had it on me. Few years ago, I had to go to City Hall in NYC so that my friends’ could get their marriage papers. I pulled out my flashlight, keys, and my clear gray classic Victorinox and placed them in the bin before walking through metal detection. And the security told me I couldn’t enter with it. It’s not an expensive knife but it was given to me by my late brother. We took a taxi here so I didn’t have my car to leave it in. I went outside, found this raised concrete wall with some plants in it. I was pretty discreet so that people didn’t realize I was hiding something there. The marriage papers took a little more than an hour. When we came out it was gone.
RIP
That happened to me once, its crazy how you think you are being discrete but people are watching ......everywhere!!
BUMMER!!!!!!
Love Blade HQ videos I'm addicted! I've had many knifes confiscated one of which was a black Swiss Army Classic SD! I was in 6th grade and I accidentally left it in my school uniform pants pocket one night. I forgot all about it and put the same pants on and went to school the next morning. It fell out of my pocket during math class...My buddy nudged me and looked down and right as I saw it and put my foot over it, so did my teacher! Teacher took it and put it in his desk and I served a weeks worth of detention LOL! ON THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL I WENT THROUGH HIS DESK AND I STOLE IT BACK! I STILL HAVE THE KNIFE TO THIS VERY DAY!!!!
Anybody else really digging Andrew as a new co-host of knife banter?! The guy has great knife knowledge, interesting comments and just an overall awesome vibe. Thumbs up if you agree!
I like the new guy, but what happened to Curt? I’ve got abandonment issues.
He'll still make appearances!

Blade HQ if that wheel stops on shave your beard, you know what needs to be done!
Now I'm going to have to binge watch Ben AND Curt videos!! I see what you're doing here BladeHQ, very clever...
They made him to carry Victorinox and he snapped.
I have carried the tinker for over 10 years now and I still love it
Hear, hear! there;s not a better SAK out there.
I had 3 taken
One at church
One by my mom
The last from a teacher at school.
Why did u take a knife to church
@@degtyarev4768 well we are southern Baptist so everyone brought it to church for 1. 2. I was like 7 and had it out thus the reason it was taken.
Why did you take a knife to school, what?
@@rossiarmstrong7406 I was like 7 or 8
So to show off. It was a private country school we all had knives. The teacher didnt think I should be allowed to have one at that age so she took it. And I never saw it again. Hell even in my junior and high school years at a public school we still had knives. Just then we were smart enough not to pull them out to show off.
I've been carrying my knife to school for 4 years (high school) and no one has ever taken it from me. If you are responsible and don't pull it out when you don't have to or next to teachers, you should be fine.
I’ve had a Swiss Army CyberTool 29 since it came out many years ago. Mine is in translucent red and all the parts are original and intact. It’s in my laptop backpack and goes everywhere with me. Used it today to remove a hex head screw for a coworker.
We need a Blade HQ exclusive Pickle Rick classic!!
The bottle opener works perfect for adjusting brakes on semis and trailers.
Yes it does...Good for lifting up the Pin to release The PAwl Gear when backing them off a Half Turn
Went from a super tinkerer to a huntsman as my daily multitool. I can't wait to see how you will be cutting paper in the same entertaining ways the new feild tests have gone.
one use for the parcel hook ive found is when you tie a bunch of saplings together you can use the hook to drag them
my dude im still waiting for that emergency and I die attempting to zipline
Look up "bail handle" and think "cook fire."
In freezing mornings in was my most used tool to tighten combat boots to prevent my hands bleeding!
The Spartan is my everywhere edc , Forester when I am outdoor , 1979 gourmet just for the collection , and classic on my wife's keychain
Executive, Cadet, Climber (glow in the dark scales), Ranger, Helmsman. These are my favorites, but the Ranger is my all time favorite. It's a thick knife, but it is infinitely useful. It's been the hero on many a Christmas morning.
Andrew's stare after Sales and Grails was the greatest! I busted out laughing from the ridiculous awkwardness! Please don't ever become normal! Exclamation points!
Knife banter is by far my favorite you tube videos to watch. Keep it up guys
I wonder how long it'll be before Zach finally convinces someone to make a bladehq exclusive compact

I have had a Victorinox "Handyman" for ages, heck, its awesome.
I keep a handyman on me at work
Love the Siper Tinker, have one in my Get Home Bag in the car and another in my wife's. Personal choice is the CyberTool. It's been part of my EDC for 18 or so years and I have used it 1000s of times for almost anything you can imagine whether fixing something at home/office or feathering sticks and skinning small game in the woods. It's never let me done and still going strong. Definitely the best pocket knife/tool I've ever had
Awesome - love these knives! Have carried them for many, many years.
Zac is slowly turning into Ben. Clean hands, perfect hair, golf shirt, he might even have a blue knife. The replacement for the old Zac seems pretty cool too
I like how Andrew is always so calm and relaxed going into so many details of each knife he talks about, makes you love Knives even more, good job buddy 😁👍🗡🤙
I was thinking about BRK and then that guy shows up with his Bark River knife😂👍🗡 🤙
I carried an alox soldier for 5 years nothing could knock that thing out of my pocket until i got the Compact. Been carrying the compact over 3 years now and i love it. Although i have s yeoman now which is competiton for the compact. Love the videos keep them coming
Field tests are awesome BHQ does everything perfectly!
You're going to make us blush 😊
I have carried a Vic. Manager for years. Donated several to TSA as well. Super compact and useful; knife, scissors, file, phillips, flathead, bottle opener, tweezers and a PEN! Whenever I break out the pen to sign something, people are legit impressed. ;)
People now a days are all, “I miss Kurt.” And I’m still all, “I miss Austin.”
Love the Super Tinker. I have one for each day pack. My EDC on the keychain is the tiny Manager. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve used that pen! And the tiny pair of scissors should not be underestimated. I’ve actually trimmed a LEATHER BELT with them.
I daily carry a Swiss Champ I bought in 1993. Usually on my belt but if that looks out of place it’s in my pocket. I love it.
Sounds awesome! How has it held up?
Blade HQ so far only a small chip in one scale. Looks like new. I clean and oil it all the time.
I’ve been waiting for this my whole life, lmao I’m excited to get another sak since I was given one 20 years ago
I have a Tinker that I got on a trip to Switzerland in 1987. I have bought a couple more Tinkers over the years but I still have the first one and it still looks new.
More Swiss Army knife content!!! Been thinking about getting back into them forever!
I've somehow managed to keep the same classic sd for 5 years now and I still have the original tweezers and toothpick that it came with. And I also carry a farmer alox
Love the video!!! Have carried my Stay Glo Victorinox Climber forever it feels like!! Its basically a Super Tinker with the corkscrew! I love that with just a little sunlight, my knife glows in the dark and the bright color always helps it stay visible if it falls out of the pocket. This model is the only other model that Victorinox makes with Stay Glo scales. The other is the Rescue Tool!!
Tinker with camo scales was my first ever knife and I still have the same one to this day and I’m in the army now and it’s still my EDC and it even has a spot on my kit and when new guys come in and ask me what knife they should get I let them know get a Swiss Army knife. Awesome video
Super fun and I enjoy the tests! Keep it rolling!
Love victorinox SAK! Was one of my first knives as a kid. I carry a classic sd black on my keys everyday and my wife carries an alox solo. The tinker and explorer are probably my favorites but I really want a champagne alox pioneer lol its just so classy looking!
Knocked it outta the park on this one guys!
I carry a DELUXE TINKER, that adds pliers... been with me for over ten years, and helped for everything: camping, gardening, cooking, fixing shoes, the car, open more loops on belt... tool box in your pocket
Thumbs up if you agree this was an excellent episode.
Carrying a Victorinox Compact because of the stellar review by Zac!
They are amazing knives I have one that is over 50 years old and it still works perfectly. I have everything from spyderco, zt, benchmade. Victorinox is my favorite.
I got start on swiss army knives not long ago and bought a super tinker. I feel in love with it especially for my profession. I am a eletrican and my favorite too on my sak is the parcial hook it is great for pulling wire with pull line.
Who ever does the post editing does good work, anchorman drop at the end was on point, lol.
Silver Alox Pioneer X is my EDC. I also keep a handyman on me for work, but the beefier blade and tools on the pioneer, and the awl make it the most useful SAK I've ever owned
I've been daily carrying a Tinker Wabenmuster for years. I have another one new in the box in case I ever break or lose it though.
I got a Classic when I was in Cub Scouts 30 something years ago. It was taken away the same day after I cut the couch cushions, pillows, Atari cables, and multiple other things. My dad has still not given it back to me lol.
A Victorinox Waiter has been my EDC for at least 20 years. The mini screwdriver is perfect for tightening screws on my glasses. I’ve found the tweezers to be the best tool for removing ticks. I use the toothpick almost every day and it is still as good as new. The corkscrew is very handy when loosening knots. The flathead screwdriver is a little rounded and bent after all the prying. The plastic scales are so worn that the metallic logo inlay is protruding. A have several other smaller and bigger Victorinox knives, but the waiter is the preferred EDC for me.
My favorite one by now is tbe explorer. But I also love the fieldmaster and the huntsman. The spartan is another classic one that should be the first SAK of everyone.
Living in MN, I’ve found that the parcel hook works well as a lace puller for hockey skates.
Andrew is really growing on me! Nice work guys.
I always carry the deluxe tinker because of the pliers (used them the other day to take apart a hot coffee percolator) and the scissors (used them last week to cut a piping bag full of chocolate ganache and today to cut flower stems). My father always carries his explorer which he got on his honeymoon.
I carry a SAK daily. I have several but for most EDC it's my explorer highly recomend . Great stuff guys
My favorite Swiss army knife is the fieldmaster, is very useful as a edc knife. Their woodsaw is unbeatable. a big hug from México. i'm a big fan of your channel, saludos amigos....
My First VICTORINOX that I've EDC is the COMPACT. It is still my Go-To pocket knife/tool.
As a Logistician, the Scissors (Cutting Papers) , Pen (Signing Receipts or Documents) , and Knife (opening mail/boxes/letters) are the tools I need the Most.
I always carry Huntsman and Leatherman rev. With them, I can fix almost everything. And Victorinox Sentinel in a pocket.
The Sentinel is great for food prep.
I’ve used the compact the super tinker and the huntsman. I currently carry the huntsman and my edc benchmade triage. The combination of tools on both make anything I need to do possible. Love both.
Super Tinker all day every day for almost 10 years now. Has all the tools I use regularly!
Whenever I watch one of these videos I find myself humming the song all day😂
Now I need more footage of Zac cooking.
I'm going deeeeper Leo!
The last couple days ive been carrying a Silver/Transparent Huntsman around my neck and its amazing! The size/weight is barely noticable and with a quick detach clip it allways handy and acessible and it doesnt feel like someone took a dookie in your pocket!
I love my stayglow climber. The parcel carrier is amazing cos I carry parachord on me to help tie and bundle things together. And the cork screw is amazing to help untie knots.. I chose this over the super tinker cos of the corkscrew. Thanx zac for your video with the SAK collector!
Cut paper? U should totally do a ream of paper dressed as dwight's shrute's Assistant to the regional messenger.
😂 Awesome idea!
BTW the climber doesn't have a 3D Phillips screwdriver, you mean the super tinker.
That statement he makes does not make any sense. even tinker and super tinker is different in so many ways from compact. Compact is slimmer than super tinker and has different tool-set. climber is closest one to compact, but without plus scales does not contain pen, and compact does have that combination tool in place on small blade and bottle and can opener. Compact even has nail file on multipurpose hook.
Tinker is a must have. With the Philips head and a couple of flat heads I rarely have to head back to my toolkit for small jobs and easy fixes.
I have found the perfect thing to clean them - Muc-Off. It just melts dirt away. My Swiss Champ XLT is now shiny throughout and looks like it did when new.
I have a SD that my late grandpa had engraved for me. I have a 16 year old Cybertool I bought when I did PC repair. I still use the Cybertool for around the house jobs.
Great video! I collect Victorinox knives. I also buy them used and refurbish them. My daily carry is a Alox Pioneer or Pioneer X along with whatever folder I feel like carrying that day.
I've owned a Huntsman for over 30 years, plus Boy Scout branded models when I was younger. I once used the saw blade to retrieve a pet parrot who had flown into a tree and was way out on a 1" branch.
I'm a BIG SAK fan, I've owned a spartan and tinker for the last 25 years, great knives during my working career, in the metal trades. Kudos too SAK for great knifes
I carry a sak every day. Usually the alox cadet but I love being able to have that as a backup to my main knife.
I had a Classic confiscated at an Iron Maiden concert back in 1998 😒
And that security guard has probably been carrying it all this time 😉
Thats not very metal
i was a cub master for 5 years, and the can opener on my Tinker SAK opened at least a couple hundred cans of chilies and tomatoes for campfire cook outs i still carry a Tinker or a spartan to this day .
From 2011 until 2017 i have with me my sd blue classic as a keychain pocket knife. From oct 2018 until today, i carry a huntsman. Never leave without it. :)
I keep a Tinker in my back pack, a classic SD on my key ring and I have a leather sheath to belt carry my Forester Wood in my EDC rotation.
If you work on anything with wires, you can use the parcel hook to hold them out of the way while working under or behind them. The weight of the tool will keep them out of the way.
Good idea!
My fav and daily carry the V.S.A Solo! So enjoy this knife!
We need Andrew on more videos! Zac is my man, but Andrew is just as cool! Great duo.
I'm carrying Huntsman every day in my "utility" pocket and it's hardly noticable. With that range of tools it's a must have.
I have been carrying a Swiss army knife for almost 3 decades. Victorknox make really good knives and they are very affordable. Anytime I give a knife as a first pocket knife its my go to. Got my first one at 12. Wasnt my first pocket knife but it was my first quality tool.
When I turned 18, my father gave me the Swisschamp. It has all the tools you'll ever need, and them some. Way too much to have on my EDC, but I carried it on all my road trips (remember those?).
My girlfriend just gave me a Spartan (like the Tinker, with a cork screw instead of the phillips) as a christmas git and I love it. Is my new EDC knife.
Love the Portuguese MAM knife! Excellent liner lock on those! Prefer them over Opinel. And I love Opinel...
I love my rambler, i carried it for six years in my coin or watch pocket. Great help with bad fingernails and the caplifter is gold.
The Rambler is an awesome choice 👍
I carry either a camper or a tinker....... on some days depending on if wine is on the agenda I may carry the camper.....if I’m tooling around on the cars then the tinker will be in my pocket......either way the classic SD is always hooked onto my key ring. Planning to add the bug out to my pocket once I get funds rolling in again ...... Covid had me pretty messed up for the last year. Thanks for the awesome videos!
I had my classic taken away entering my local theme park, Carowinds. I replaced it with a Rally for the philips head screwdriver instead of the scissors.
I backpack a Ranger everyday, all day, and it has never let me down. My father has a Hunter, amd he mostly uses it when he goes hiking (for hiking I have a Leatherman Sidekick). These things have never let me down. I'm actually planning to get a Hunter Pro M Alox for pocket carry.
i agree about the scissors. i use my scissors (on my mini leatherman) as a nail clipper. works great every time!
Just today, I dumped my 5 year test carry of the Cadet for the Super Tinker. The Cadet just didn't provide enough needed tool and the Super Tinker fits the bill without being too big, too big means something I would leave at home and not in my pocket for EDC. For me a deal breaker is that cork screw, I need the philips on my knife, but I would never use the cork screw away from home. The philips gets used every week at least once or twice so I'm so happy to have this Super Tinker back in my pocket again. One of these, not sure what they called it back in the day but my very first knife of any kind was a S.A. knife like the tinker, it set me back 10 dollars back in 1972. I keep my Leatherman in my briefcase for more tools I need but don't want to carry. Check out the super tinker, I think you'll see it's the best choice and not too big.
I have carried a alox cadet for 8 years, I gave it away recently and replaced it with a alox farmer. It is always in my work bag. I prefer my leather man juice but I still use it often.
I carry a Fieldmaster daily..same as the huntsman but has a phillips head instead of cork screw.
Just picked one up with Wounded Warrior scales - that's my weekend/hiking carry. My daily driver is a Cybertool M.
I also carry the fieldmaster wherever I go!
@@isaacclawson6981 great knife isn't it?
Fieldmaster is tops.
Me too 👍
I love Swiss Army knives. I had a black Tinker that I had in my pocket for years. What I didn't like was the plastic handle scratched very easy.
I got the SWA compact because of Blade HQ.
I love my Explorer and Tinker models!
The alox cadet is the one knife I always have with me and with a belt clip it just dissapears in your pocket without getting lost
I got the Huntsman and the Swisstool Spirit as well as one of the vintage ALOX Swiss Army issue knives (Pinoneer model, but with the year of issue stamped).
When talking about thickness with SAKs, it is easier to see them by layers. I personally love my climber, but my super tinker has a special place in my heart. Also, the parcel hook works great when you are trying to unzip the top of your Jeep lol
Awesome idea for the parcel hook 😎
I usually pocket carry the Hiker (essentially the Tinker with the addition of a wood saw) or the Spartan with modded plus-scale and mini screwdriver. But the Explorer with handy magnifying lens is often close at hand.
Just bought my first SAK. Pioneer X. Pocket slip from hitch and timber coming soon
I’ll be honest, Blade HQ’s customer service is awesome but I have no problem admitting their CZcams presence has also had a significant positive impact on my patronage of their online store.
...It’s killing my bank account and budget though lol.
Not only are y’all enabling my knife addiction, y’all are pretty much the sole facilitators and biggest instigators of it 😂.
But seriously, I love y’all’s videos!
Thanks for watching!
I have 3 compacts, I’ll have another one coming with CF scales w/gold screws. I’ve been exclusively edcing the compact for 4 years 8 months and 3 days now.
I have the tinker now. My mom took my super tinker from me when I was 7 or 8 years old. I had it for all of about a week, and she seen me use all of the other tools on the super tinker before I used the actual knife. Long story short, she thought it was super awesome until the knife came open and I got it taken away. -15 years later and I still havent found another super tinker in my local stores.
