    • @nikosfilipino

      @@BOOSTEDLASER a classy gentleman's knife has:
      · a non-threatening look to it
      - small and relatively thin
      - usually a deep carry pocket clip
      for better concealment
      -lightweight
      ·beautiful/aesthetically pleasing
-perhaps a little bit of bling
-really nice colors that aren't loud
but are noticeable and work well
-something you can pull out and
      people would be intrigued rather
      than scared.
A gentlemen's knife doesn't have to be expensive, but think of it like watches. To the uninitiated you can go around wearing a casio ediface and people may think that looks dope, but what does a ediface look compared to a Rolex if you catch my drift. Both have their roles and places, i wear an edifice everyday. But, when you tryna flex which one you gonna take?

My preferred is the slip joint, leather sheath Fantoni Dweller in Cocobolo scale. The Massdrop Gent with custom snakewood scales is my modern day suit knife and considering the Civivi McKenna in Damacus as a good equilvalent Gent folder.
Gentleman carry for me is smaller blade, light to medium duty tasks such as food prep for sausage, cheese, apple or fruit slicing. Ideally compliments rest of attire and accessories... Watch, pen, lighter (torch), flashlight, etc.
Thus a new video concept.. Knifes that pair well for a certain style.
For me three basic styles based upon shoes and watch... Dress (gentleman), sports (high water resistance), and edc based upon ones occupation.

Regardless of the tone of the OP’s comment, it doesn’t make me culpable to BS when being helpful and kind. Oh, what’s the harm with presenting a well thought out comment by taking the time to communicate intelligently? Before it’s brought up, yes I did have a typo but I’m on a iPads and honestly didn’t feel like correcting the mistake after a quick proofread before posting the comment. Nice job, gents! Always enjoy a good Kurt & Zac show. Lately, I've been digging this "gentleman's" category. To me, this category should be defined as: 1) Svelte, classy/dressy design (i.e., not tactical, although tac knives are probably my favorite of all categories); 2) Ideally, less than 3" blade length; 3) Light; 4) Discreet clip design. Some others I've been thinking about that weren't in video (many already mentioned here though): Benchmade: 485 Valet, 756 Sibert Micro Pocket Rocket, & 380 Aller; Protech: Newport Tuxedo, Sprint; CIVIVI McKenna; WE 914 Anodyne; Gerber: Straightlace, Jukebox, Quadrant & Pocket Square; Kershaw: Launch 4, Chive; Michael Zieba MS3; Chris Reeve Mnandi; Kizer Lundquist.

It’s small super slim has a beautiful aesthetic and the small perfectly sized blade is absolutely razor sharp . Fits easily in suit pants pockets business shirt pockets and is in my mind Yhe best all rounder . Weighing next to nothing . My usual edc is an m16folder on the road but around the office or nights out the higonokami is the clear winner for easy conceal carry

  • @Doc.Holiday
    @Doc.Holiday Před 4 lety

You guys should review the Boye line of knives. They are generally sailing knives but the folder is an excellent EDC knife. All are made with Cobalt because it is non magnetic, therefore does no throw off a compass while at the helm. The marlin spike is titanium for the same reason and comes in handy for a multitude of non-sailing applications. Light weight and I wouldn’t be without one. Gentleman’s knife indeed and a peace officer wouldn’t have a problem with it.

  • @davids9549

    A Swiss Army Knife isn't a gentleman's carry. It's a schoolboy's carry, or, if you follow the nomenclature, a soldier's carry.
A gentleman's carry does not have a pocket clip - it should be light enough to not need one.
You do not carry anything in your top outer jacket handkerchief pocket apart from....a silk pocket square.
    Your wristwatches are not suitable.
The bow tie is tied too large (like a clown), the long tie is tied too loose (like a drunk).
Gentlemen do nor wear bits of string around their wrists.
That Benchmade is just plain vulgar.
But I love your videos all the same, and a couple of those titanium models were gentlemanly, albeit in a modern way.
My current 'Most Gentlemanly Carry' - a Great Eastern Cutlery #99 Wall Street single (440C) Wharncliffe blade, American chestnut covers. Ultimate discretion, timeless slim elegance, minimal weight, faultless manufacture - one day you will understand!
