Same make/model, had really bad rust spot on frame just forward of where the leaf spring mounts towards the front on the drivers side. Crack was about 5-6 inches long and was more horizontal than vertical. Ended up removing the side steps and using their mounting holes towards the back to screw down some 3/8" channel steel and then weld it all in place. So far so good. Still hear some creaking going on back there when I go over heavy bumps, think it might be the rusty leafs, cuz the welds are still good and havent broken free...
