But the other day some kid was like "I have a crf250 with a big bore and stroker crank that brings it to 350cc's and it also has hotcams and yoshimura exhaust and on a dyno it went a little bit over 45 horsepower! I'll whip you're yz250!" And I responded "You do realize a 250 2 stroke puts out over 45 horsepower STOCK." He deleted his comment... I loved my 06 RMZ450 I might even buy another, but there's nothing like riding a good 250 2 stroke.
85s are similar to a 125, not much power difference... its small and very light, you can throw it around anywhere, fun to muck around on. Ive ridden a lot of bikes and know a lot.
Modern day 4t are just as fast its up to the rider the if he can ride it to its limit. 90% rider 10% bike. A test that had lap times compared to a 250 4t to a 250 2t in the hands of professionals. The 250 2t was a mere couple hundreths of a second faster than the 250 4t.
Race or moto I always figured atleast, it’s simply there to show that it’s distinct and not a trail bike or street legal bike, R basically means it’s for racing on the motocross track

80s/85s are the best haha... I still have my YZ85 even though I have a YZ250... 85s are so light, I can ride It anywhere.
