I like the fact that you can manage the populations for trophy bucks… that’s way better than grinding 6500 red deer for a random great one to spawn.
Can you specify on how you control it, or do you not know?
@@cowboyaustin2584 the animals age and grow so culling older animals with a low score andbad genetics helps the herd supposed to anyways
@@cowboyaustin2584 kill off the unhealthy and poor genetic deer I’m pretty sure
@@cowboyaustin2584 removing the low trophies and low genetic ones, letting the higher trophy ones with better genetics thrive and repopulate
@@cowboyaustin2584 There are low fitness bucks and high fitness bucks which are trophy's. To spawn better trophy's you need to kill low fitness animals more often
Mule deer tend to be more reddish in spring to summer and become more greyish in fall and winter so not always the same color... like your treatment of game play I'm getting my questions answered ... thanks !

Love the game, and I’m honestly super pumped for it! But I’m not sure how I feel about being able to see the bullet when you fire.
I see what they're trying to do though. In real life you might see the quickest of blurs through the scope and the game tries to emulate that, but I agree, even one frame feels too long.
Don't tell me you wouldn't want hunter Elite with a bullet cam slow mo of the shot hitting the animal😃 now that would be good!!

There is herd management if you shoot low genetic animals it improves herd quality and therefore raises your herd potential as they grow older

Hope you can either unlock a bloodhound or add as dlc. This made it so much easier to find your harvests in call of the wild
Its still new. COtw sucked hard the 1st year. Took 5 years to get it to wear it is.
Try going for small bucks so the bigs can grow and bigger spawn so you could get bigger

Can you explore the kill screen more by seeing what those tabs at the top were?
yo, when you shoot an animal, look at the top and it will show a couple options to choose from, one of them will show the trophy rating of the animals and the stats of there gene pool and stuff

i wonder what the render distance is for this game. i think in hunting simulator u can see the animals from insanely far but cotw is like 450 yards or smth like that. i hope it's at least farther than cotw

Hard to say how I feel about this from a graphical standpoint. Since this is through a gpu that was admitted as needing to be upgraded I’ll try and forgive how rough the opening was and it being really studdery. The fov slider needs to be added and adjustment to view distance.
Oh its 100% better now that i have upgraded, i would recommend checking out the stream i did today as its a better example of how the game is

What GPU do you have? You mentioned you needed a upgrade but didn't mention your system specs. Trying to decide between PC and Series X.
He has 6700k and RTX 3060 ti and 32GB 3200mhz ram. Also, he has a 500GB SSD and 1TB HDD. Obviously, if you have a high-end PC the performance will be always better than running it on a console.

Since the animals age.. Do you perhaps think you could find a deer that has died to ageing?
Animals that die of old age do not show up on your map, however animals that you have killed will remain until you find them, even if you lost track and never claimed the trophy

Same question. If visibility and scent are modeled, they don't seem to have a visible indicator.
Scent and sound do matter, animals will spook from both

This will be the first hunting game I will be playing... Looks fun , hate to say it will be the first deer I will shoot too haha ... I have shot 2 wild boars in real life , still need to add a dear to my hunt..

I kind of feel bad for the CotW guys because Way of the Hunter is such a good game.
I bought all the DLCs yesterday for CotW because of it and hope they will keep working on the game because i still love it. xD
I think cotw will still do very well, the game is quite different so those that don't like slow paced gameplay will still play it. I still love the game too xD
How far is the render distance for the animals? Do they disappear beyond 420 meters just like cotw?
No, the render distance is 800 meters.
If you're on console, yes they dissapear past 400-450
The game only shows the wind speed and direction but it doesn't show how much noise you are making. How can you tell you are gonna spook the animals?
By looking at the animal's behaviour. If they hear you they will be skittish.
Now that you’ve had time to play Way Of The Hunter a good amount. How would you compare it to Call Of The Wild? If you were only allowed to choose one of them (based on the game’s they are right now), which would you choose and why?

Yes, but it seems that it does not have an indicator to show how much pressure there is. So, I guess you have to find out how much pressure makes them avoid the zone.

The game and animals look awesome ! But definitely a let down with no archery gear. At least I can’t find any info on crossbows, compounds, or recurve bows . I guess I’ll be sticking with hunter call of the wild lol

If the dev's want a tip I stopped playing COTW for a year till the dog came along, so a dog or a Your dead animal is HERE glowing icon, if I have to spend hours looking for a kill (COTW) I can't see me buying the game...

COTW should be scared because this is way more realistic and the strategy that hunters will have to implement to get the most out of their herds makes this probably the greatest hunting game ever created, honestly. The only thing I have to say about this really, is, be... prepared... for.... BUGS!!!! Everyone is going to freak out when they log in and find a bunch of bugs, because everyone does it every time so just be prepared.
They should have been but a month later hardley anyone is playing it. I was hyped but after 2 weeks I was back to Cotw

don't want to play this yet for fear of losing my love for cotw. only started cotw about a month ago. still havnt even played every map yet.
They are very different games imo. I have been able to enjoy both for different reasons as woth is more realistic and cotw is more fast paced
You wont. I played Way of the hunter for 20 hrs. I went back playing COTW. WoTH has a way to go. They can hardly get 1k players on it at this point. Lots of potential but it get old real fast. In that 20 hrs I had all items unlocked and the all the territories in the first map.
I can’t wait to get this for Ps5 later this year
