The fact that they removed the ability to advance their age simply by sleeping, will help make it harder to get the 5 star and being their at the right time.
That's a good thing
They didn't remove it, you just can't sleep spam. Go stalk for a few hours, go to sleep, repeat.

I just learnt something new today. I've actually have backpacker in elk summit 16 miles to a high mountain lake in my mid 20s. What is so cool is that elk summit is in New perce. That's pretty dang cool
So I guess I'm the only one with 40+ hours in game and can only find 1-3 star deer? I've got 5 star birds for days. Have yet to even come close to a 4 star or 5 star even with superb herd management thus far.
I'm at 70+ and I hadn't seen any until a couple of days ago and shot two down the bottom right hand corner of the map around the little lake.
first herd a found had a 5 star 99% mature mule deer and it was at the end of the tutorial lol. probably 30 minutes into the game.
I have only played for 7 hours and I watched a 3 star whitetial grow into a 5 star it’s all about the private places
I’m the same man. Love the look at this game, the map, all of it but so few animals I’ve spent like 5 hours going around. Checked a huge lake at 3 different times. Not a thing in sight! Also sat in a hunting stand at a lake for 24 in game hours and nothing turned up. Nothing! They need to do something about it. Everything else is perfect!

I wonder if the 'abnormally large' 3 star roe deer you pointed out are perhaps abnormally large for other places (like game locations we are used to playing, but appropriate size in the Transylvanian region? Just a guess because Roe aren't a species we have natively.
This guess is based on observation. Watching hunting videos from certain states in the USA where they call a whitetail deer a "massive monster" and here in Alberta Canada that's small, I'd quite often pass that size up. And then you get into examples with Alaskan Moose compared to moose in other regions where they are pretty small by comparison.
most roebucks, also mature ones only has 6 tines. so the extra points should be on very few and only 4 or 5 stars. they should be uncommon, like uncommn fur types in COTW
Hi scarecrow I just wanted to tell you that the roe deer are this big as a 3⭐️ the main thing on the rack is the lenght and thickness the 3⭐️ roe deer
are not thick and long either . You can see the diference from the 3⭐️ next to a 5⭐️ .
Man I’ve got 30 hours and I’ve only came across a 5 star pheasant. I’m shooting all 1 star mature/adult animals, not sure why I’m having such bad luck.. but love the fallow deer, looks great!
i am the same as you! We will get there one day and i just found a 4 star mulie on my map so we will see if i can grow it into a 5 star!
I’ve heard it can take up to 60-70 hrs to see a difference

Personally, I like the Overgaard Long Range scope, if only for that sweet, sweet German #4 Post reticaretinal. Love it.
Really hope they add some classic cartridges to the game, something in the x57 Mauser case family (6.5x57, 7x57, 7.92x57, or 9.3x57), x68 RWS case family (6.5x68, 7.92x68), 6.5x55 swede, and etc. Here's to hoping anyway. So many I could list, but I get not everything can be in the game. I'll be extremely happy with different grain bullet weights too, if they go with that route with ammo variations! Games usually don't portray how versatile a cartridge can really be... Here's to hoping nonetheless.

I think 7x57 and 6.5x55 are definitely very possible but I think they would go with 9.3x62 Mauser over 9.3x57.
@@BMXrider915 most likely would, and almost mentioned the 9.3x62. There's a bunch of cartridges I'd love to see, but only so many, I'm sure, will make it in.
@@87PontiacGP I think if we get a African map I think the 7x57 and 9.3x62 would be very likely alongside the 375 h&h or 416 rigby. Hopefully a partnership with Sako, Winchester, Browning, Ruger, or even the legendary Rigby would be amazing to bring these calibers to the game running around with a rigby highland stalker in 7x57(275 rigby) would be amazing.

the roe deer thing is with whitetils to average buck is a 4x4 not a 6x6
Anyone having an issue with missing black bears? After getting to the Chimichurri Bear Steak mission I have not been able to find black bears for 4 days now.

Hello scarecrow, a question man, please? If I'm doing a Great Whitetail routine, do I have to catch the downed animals or can I kill them and leave them so I don't waste so much time? Thanks and greetings from Spain.

I'm not scarecrow but you can leave the dead animals and you'll still get respawns

Yeah I would have preferred a typical 6 points buck as a 5 star at least here in the uk that 3 star would probably be a non typical gold medal buck lol
I work with roe all year round never seen one even remotely close to that
in real life, a 2 point roe deer is average and a 3 point roe deer is really big, 4 or more is like a one in a thousand massive giant

I bought the binoculars and it took my money and didn’t give me the Binoculars
the 3 star is that because of its genetics, it is not the best quality genes even though it is huge in size and tynes of the antlers. I believe it is pretty spot on with the genetics scaling from everything I have watched so far
It is waaay too easy to find 5-stars or manipulate 5-stars to spawn... Not satisfying at all
