I know Conan said" We used to work together on the Simpsons...in the olden times" but we all know he meant the Golden Times, because seasons 3-9 were the golden era of the series.
It's only ethnic indians who objected. Nor the indians from india. Frankly I hate those snooty 2nd generation indian Americans. They are the most racist towards their own kind.
Well, if the "small number of people" he met were hurt, and Azaria empathized, then maybe it's reasonable--and his call to make, if he truly feels that way--to apologize. I'll admit that I've laughed at the jokes, and I've also empathized with people from cultures foreign to my own, and grown from those interactions, acquaintances & friends.
@@tost6956 yeah I dig that. Believe me, I was a raging Simpsons nerd in my younger days, I've watched all the DVD commentaries (s1-9. I always thought it would be fun as to be on the writing staff of that show or something like it. The few, the proud, the geeky.
F.: “Get out, you’re on my list!” (in Comic Book Guy voice). OMG that was freakin hilarious, and the fact his name was F. and they didn’t know his full name. 😂😂😂😂😂
Hank, and all the core voice cast from the Simpsons, are simply extraordinary. (Comic Book Guy is an utter fave. He gets such good lines). And let’s not forget the great Phil Hartman. They made that show.
Those prank calls come from a real ongoing prank of a bar in New jersey called Red's Tube Bar. There was a cassette recording of them that went around the music scene in the 80's
I worked in a liquor store for 2 years. Raj was an amazing man and had a beautiful family. He LOVED my Indian accent when i would mock him cause trust me he would hit right back. But this artist/comedian/impressionist is new age gold.
Hank is the man. I hate the fact that he can no longer voice Carl after all these years because of some butthurt assholes with their over the top PC bullshit. Hank will always be the voice of Carl.
It's ridiculous. He lost the roles because of people who think you should only play characters of your own race... and yet on Family Guy, they replaced Cleveland's actor with a black guy well-known for doing impressions of WHITE characters!? So none of it makes any sense.
@@Scripture-Man It's all communist/marxist bullshit. I known that sounds cliche but it's true. Ever since the George Floyd incident BLM activists have demanded all kinds of communist bullshit like replacing voice actors with ones who are of the same race. Also, does derrière translate well? The there a "high class and at the same time foreign" version of "ass" in the language to which this clic is translated?
Does anyone know of a Hank Azaria clip? I think it was on one of these late night talk shows where he talks about meeting Jack Nicholson and how Jack's points of reference are so far back in time and removed from his own that he can't understand what he's talking about. Hank does an impression of Jack referencing all these old movie stars and things that happened decades ago. I'm pretty damn sure it was Hank on one of these talk shows but I can't for the life of me find it.
Hank's Bronx analyst story reminds me of a social worker i once went to see. First meeting, after "Hello" and before anything else, he said, "Mitä haluat minusta?" O sorry, guess i got too caught up in those Finnish subtitles. Translation: "So waddaya want from me?"
3:22 Wow, I never knew, but I guess I never really thought about it. It makes more sense now.😄 Listening to Lou the Cop over the years with Chief Piggum, I mean Wiggum, a "Double Royale with Cheese"...Love this gem🤣👍 Sly Stallone.
Eine Frage: Alle Shows im deutschsprachigen Raum sind synchronisiert. Woher haben Sie den ursprünglichen Soundtrack bekommen? Halt! Jetzt sehe ich, dass einige der Conan O'Brian Shows finnische Untertiteln haben!

Oryxxx Do the prank call bits translate well? The original English version sorta relies on the pronunciation of the words. Does it work well when translated?
Mazer2721 yeah, problem here is Finnish pronunciation. We say things how its written. It is very different than spoken English. Translater here uses simple letter trick like Anu Saukko (girls name) -> Anus Aukko (butt hole)..
And now Hank had to retire Apu because some people are just too goddamned sensitive. The rest of the world can make fun of Americans (and we give them a lot of fodder), but God forbid someone else gets a ribbing from time-to-time.
The thing is most Indian people loved Apu, he was one of the first representations of Indians in western culture and as stereotypical as he is that’s the beauty of it I think, it seemed like people were getting offended for us and thought our feelings would be hurt but that’s bullshit
When the world was fun and had a sense of fun and apu was allowed. Now we can have black actors playing white people but we can't have a white guy playing a cartoon black guy 🤣
"How else would you possibly respond? Except with murderous, murderous rage?"

Hank Azaria is such an underrated performer. Such a genuine human being
i never knew lou was stallone. mind blowing...
The electric yellow has got me by the brain banana
I always thought he sounded like Stallone but didn't he was actually channeling him!😅
Me either!!!
I will never watch it the same.

Honestly season 1 to 12 was good for me and I liked some of season 13 to 15 and then it's kind if hard to watch but will always be my favorite show
Hank's voices were always easy on my ears.
I can listen to him do voices for hours XD
Hank Azaria is such a talented actor and inspiration for all.
hanks real voice is kinda like Snake without the surfer duude
@GENERAL DISARRAY'S BOSS 83 both
Both.
This guy was Phoebs' boyfriend.
He was also in the running to play Chandler

Moe's laugh is apparantly his real laugh.
He never should have apogised for the Apu voice, its a stereotype. By that metric, Dan Castellaneta should apologise for grounds keeper Willie.
And Harry Shearer for Doctor Hibbert..it's bs how a small amount of people got upset about Apu yet ignore the other ones
It's only ethnic indians who objected. Nor the indians from india.

Crazy how so many of the Indians I work with sound just like Apu. So disrespectful.
The finish subtitles though!
Funny how you knew it was Finnish, yet you misspelled Finnish.
Watching him do Lou's voice was way funnier than I would have expected

Hank Azaria also voiced Eddie Brock and Venom in the 1994 Spider-Man animated series. :)
He also did the voice of Eddie Van Halen

I don't know who that is.
Just realized he kind of sounds like Jon Stewart
It’s so sad he’s been pressured into not doing characters.
LOL Conan did write the Amanda Huggingkiss episode, though
The named writer generally is responsible only for a vague plot outline - most of the dialogue is changed so it's very collaborative.
Conan tried his best to feed Hank the line and get him to say Hugginkiss. Hank completely failed.
