Love you Mawmaw..💛
I’ve been in the field for a year and a half but I’m 43. I can’t lie I discourage but I haven’t quit. I draw a lot of encouragement from your videos.
@@kingsmanalphamale5422 Congrats on your journey, 43 is young you have a lot left in the tank. I definitely feel you on being discouraged, some days be rough just keep going Brother you got this. Thanks again for all of the support!🙏🏽
I have no trade experience at all whatsoever, I was raised by women. Not saying that women can’t do handy things, just not the ones in my life. And I hate college so I think I’m going to give this a try.
Brother I had no experience at all , I didn’t know any material etc.. When someone gives you an opportunity, make the most of it. Go in there being a sponge, keep learning and applying yourself & you never know what God has in store for you..🙏🏽 You Got This!
@@TheApprenticeToJourneyman thank you so much man. I’ve watched all your videos, dude, keep up the great content!!
I really appreciate it Brother..🙏🏽
@@TheApprenticeToJourneymanI have an interview for an apprenticeship today hoping I get it I wanted to be a CDL A driver but my right eye can’t meet the vision requirement I wasn’t gonna go to the interview because of my schedule I’m going an hr out my way before the interview to take my kids to there uncles because I feel I would regret not at least trying even if I don’t get the job

I plan on joining the Navy to learn the electrician trade, salute to everyone chasing any trade field!
Salute to you Brother for joining the navy, Hope you enjoy the journey & Thanks for the support!🙏🏽
Congratulations man on your new road, i just finished my schooling right now I’m still working Securtiy to pay off a few things, I plan on studying to get my journeyman out here in California but im deciding if I want to try to obtain the journeyman first and then get into the field, but im also glad to see someone who looks like me finally making trade videos
I appreciate it Brother! It’s tough out here but I’m embracing the journey & staying positive. If you could obtain your journeyman license before going to the field I don’t see that as a problem, either way it’s going to be a lot of hard work. Keep grinding & Trust the process, you got this.🙏🏽
Thank you brother doing electrical at my community college I wanted to do hvac as well
Thank you Brother, I really appreciate it! How are the electrical classes at the community college I’ve been thinking about doing a few online classes.. Congratulations on your Journey!👍🏽
I can’t wait to get into electrical. I’m 26 and have been salaried in retail for 6 years, but never truly enjoyed it here. I’m excited to start at the bottom and grind away to work my way up! My newborn daughter is really what convinced me to make the leap and do something I am interested in and something that provides better for my family. Thank you for the advice, man!
Congratulations Brother for taking that leap of faith, Proud of you man.. I was in the same exact boat you were in, salaried in retail unhappy and wanted to do something different. Your Wife & Daughter are going to be extremely proud of you..🙏🏽
Go get’em bro💪🏿 I’m 50 years old and I love to hear a young cat like you ready to change your life

I happen to live in west texas so im in the oilfield, ive done residential and a little bit of commercial but industrial is where the money is at, at least in the part of the country im in, its very common to hit a few 15 hr days per week out here
Yes sir I’ve heard the same thing, if you want the money go to the Plants! 15 hour days though is rough..😂👍🏽
Thanks for the info, I'm thinking about getting into the trades, I would like to know about the requiered paperwork to get an apprenticeship and specifically in the case of a immigrant if it's possible to pursue this trade and how to do it.
Thanks Juan for the support, I’m not sure about the immigration info but from my understanding it’s really just your Id, Social & possibly high school diploma or Just Birth certificate.. Hope that helps & Good Luck on the journey, you got this..👍🏽
I’m 35 which feels old but I do low voltage work now thinking of making the switch, feels like more opportunity
@@zman1428 Your definitely not old, But I do believe it’s a little more opportunity.. Good thing is you have some experience!👍🏽
Hey, got a cple questions for you. I’m moving back from living in Spain for a while, I just finished up a course which enables me here to either work as a basic electrical installer and or with solar panels, and I’m about to do 300hours of an apprenticeship. I’m also getting ready to move back home within the year to San Diego, CA. I know that things are done much differently back home from here, but would you have any idea if it would be possible to get some sort of work with the education I’ve got from Spain, or would I have to start from scratch?
I’ve seen back home there’s a trade school that starts everyone off working as an apprentice, while going to class two nights a week. What’s your opinion on that?
How you doing Kyle!
I’m really not sure to be honest with you, but if you already have your electrical license from Spain it possible they might allow you to transfer it. I know it works differently state to state, I would call in your local area and see what they would recommend. They might allow you to go to trade school but not sure if you would have to start all over.. Sorry I couldn’t be much help, Everything will work out. One day at a time..🙏🏽
Great video bud. I’m currently 32 years old and want to change my career out of sales and into the electrical trade so I’m not stuck in an office all day. Is 32 too late to start in your opinion?
Thank you Shawn! 32 isn’t to late at all, I understand feeling stuck in those retail jobs it gets frustrating.. You can do it Brother, One day at a time.. Thanks again for the support!🙏🏽
You might as well make a guide to how to get in
Great idea, I think I might do something like that!👍🏽
I just graduated highschool and dont know what to do. I see this as an opportunity but im also afraid of heights and i have little to nun experience with tools and etc. do yk if i should still give it a shot?
I definitely think it’s a great opportunity if you’re willing to put in the work. I was similar to you when I started I didn’t have a lot of hand tool experience either. Don’t let that stop you, You Got This!👍🏽
Just want to ask can I take my journeyman license if I just went to trade school?
@@darrellcordell3298 I’m not really sure how many hours you receive in trade school, But I know you need 8,000 licensed hours too take the test. How many did you receive in the school?
What the best route you think I should Do want to get into the electric field but just don’t know to start I don’t know to do trade school
It really depends on what your situation is, I think that it’s best to try to get with a company & learn on the Job to get the experience. But if you feel like the school route would be better right now that’s cool too. I think you’ll be fine with either decision, pray on it!🙏🏽
@@TheApprenticeToJourneyman thanks for the advice
@@thatonekidd6184 No problem Brother!👍🏽
I started at 10 dollars an hour to 25 an hour in 4 years lol. It's even higher on base jobs. I start my new job Monday. Most money I've ever made. I'd be even further ahead if I started in my 20's.
That’s a Blessing Brother, Hopefully one day I can get there..🙏🏽
💪💪💪
Thank you!💪🏽
I’m 18 coming straight out of high school and been wanting to become an electrician. The thing is I don’t know where to start. I’ve been recommended a 6 week certification course but don’t know if it’s worthy, any tips?
What’s up Andres! Congratulations on graduating High School! You have a few options you can go to trade school for electrical if you would like or you could start with a company with know experience & learn like that. It really depends on your situation, if your parents are ok with you going to school it’s nothing wrong with that either. I went the route of just working with know experience because of my situation. I would pray on it & you’ll make the right decision. Don’t be to hard on yourself, You Got This!🙏🏽
@@TheApprenticeToJourneyman thanks for the advice! So my first step would be to contact electrical companies to see if they need apprentices?
I’m not sure where your located but in Texas We have TDLR, TEXAS DEPARTMENT LICENSE REGULATION which is the website where I ordered my license from. Look at your state & they should have something similar & apply for the electrical apprentice license, mind was 20 dollars and came back in a week. It’s just good to have so when someone hires you, you will already have it..
I got no experience right now and trying to be an electrician what would be the best option for me?
Go ask them to be an apprentice. They'll start you off and show you what to do. Or just watch CZcams videos like me and start actually learning stuff and then go. But you need to learn it for real like codes and stuff too. Not just change 1 light switch and think you're done. From watching videos I was able to completely rewire my entire house, and upgraded my main panels and connected to the live service entrance lines from my power company without any help. So you can definitely do it if you try! Good luck 👍
You can go the school route or start your apprenticeship with a company.. Someone will definitely give you an opportunity with no experience just make the most of it! You Got This..👍🏽
Im in school for electrical engineering. I am 50% through the program. But i have no idea where to apply or anything. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Man congratulations Electrical Engineering is an amazing career. To be honest I’m not sure exactly where you could apply but I do know that before you graduate you should have a job lined up. Electrical engineering degree I don’t think it would be hard at all for you to find a job.. One day at a time Brother!🙏🏽
Computer, Appliance or motor companies. Helping with automation manufacturing. Or solving a problem and creating a product to sell and a company to source it.
👍🏽
Yo did you used to have a CZcams channel about weight loss ? I know it sounds super random but hear me out
👀
Yes Sir!
Do you have an insta gram that’s wild bro
@@Fatboychoji No sir..
Join the union, ibew, best Paid best pension, best medical
I’ve heard mixed things about the Union from other electricians. I’ve heard that they won’t allow you to work on certain things until you’re a certain year into your apprenticeship.. I mean how are you supposed to learn if you can’t put your hands on it.. I have heard the pay is good though!👀👍🏽
@@TheApprenticeToJourneymanjoin the union once you are a higher level apprentice, or journeyman. If there’s lots of work in your area you won’t regret it. I believe starting non union for a smaller company is definitely the best way to start as you get your hands on lots of different work, all the time, it’s not always the same thing everyday and you’re on 1-2 man jobs all the time so u will always be learning.
