    The first thing I was told as an apprentice, was to not spent money on tools that you see other's with. It's like keeping up with the Jones' and it's not gonna help with the budget starting out. Buy the basics and work with what you got and when you get more knowledge and time under your belt, then the money grows, then and only then, buy the more "worthy" tools.

    Use an M12 Fuel Impact with their 2 or 2.5 HO batteries. Compact and light, you’ll use that for most jobs, invest in M18 Fuel for the rest of your products as they have a bigger ecosystem to buy into than M12.

    Before jumping into the M18 line, consider the M12. For most things it is powerful enough and it is so much lighter and more compact. Only problem would be tool options, as maybe you need something that they do not offer. But for a drill+driver+sawsall+bandsaw+cut-off tool they have you covered

    • @TheApprenticeToJourneyman
      @TheApprenticeToJourneyman  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Thanks Victor, I’ve heard and done some research and the M12 doesn’t sound bad at all, Most people tell me to get the m18 because it’s stronger.. But I’m leaning towards the M12 we’ll see what happens for Christmas! Thanks again for the support & Merry Christmas!🙏🏽

      @@TheApprenticeToJourneyman
      Merry Christmas and thanks for the reply. I got into the m12 line because I found a second-hand drill for cheap. And I loved it from that moment. Maybe a truck mechanic needs the extra power that comes with 20 volt tools like the m18, but for most scenarios the m12 wins due to size and weight. Instead of 2 tools (like your ryobi drill+driver) you can pack 3 in the same space.
      Who recommended M18? With due respect, but in the last years lithium batteries have improved a lot. Maybe they are 15 to 25 years older than you, and back in the day 12v was underpowered. But I have seen m12 impacts removing lug nuts!

    Be sure and put some type of tracking devices s much as you can on your tools. At least the more expensive tools. I have my truck stolen a few years ago and they took my pouch which was 20 years old at least. It was older but it was broken in to it fit all of my tools just right. It took years to get it that way. Now I have a new Klein leather pouch and it is not broken in so getting the tools in and out take a lot of effort.

      Jesse the first thing I would do is order your license off TDLR, it’s about 15-20 bucks. Someone will definitely give you a opportunity with know experience just be ready to learn & work, Keep applying on indeed but also call around your local electrical company’s and speak with them let them know your apprentice with know experience and looking to start your career in the trade. Keep doing that believe me some will give you an opportunity! You got this..🙏🏽
