    Just received 2 new Land Rover keys that were supplied and cut by Faster Auto Keys. They both look and work perfectly. The price is great too.

    Thanks for this helpful video. I was able to replace two old worn out Range Rover fobs with new shells. Works perfectly!

    Thank you, it worked great with cutting services too. Range rover asked me for 530cad for a new key. Got it done here with like 30 bucks. Great and thanks for the video

  • @chroniclesofanewlife3737

    Took a lot of fiddling about to get out the pin and then had to shave the blade a touch to fit the new case. Great video, wish mine was as easy!!!!

    Good video, the only suggestion is you do not need to punch out you existing key and swivel and remove the pin. Just transfer it over to the new shell and follow the rest of the directions.

    Thanks so much, couldn't have done it without your excellent instructions. Only issue I had was I wound the torsion spring in the wrong direction the first time, so the key had to be "pulled" open. Realized what was happening, but had to take it apart, worked great when I did it exactly as you showed! Again, thanks!

    Thanks for the video. Why didnt you use the existing flip blade with the key already on it?

    • @fasterautokeys
      @fasterautokeys  Před 5 lety +3

      Hello, thanks for contacting us! This key had a cutting service, so there was no need to change the blade. The blade would have been swapped if it was not having a cutting service.

    So can you just swap the old blade for the new one so you don't have to have a new one cut, and wouldn't it be easier swapping the blade before it's back in the new housing? Cheers.

    • @fasterautokeys
      @fasterautokeys  Před 4 lety

      Yes, you can swap the blade by removing the pin as shown in the video. It can be hard without the right tools but it is possible. Some keys have a thicker blade, and in this case it needs to be sanded until it can fit into the new arm. It's your choice if you'd like to save roughly $10 and order without a cutting service. The cutting service allows you have to have a new blade to the vehicle and save time removing and swapping the key blade.

    Sorry if you covered this and I missed it but is there a specific way to put the pin back in when inserting the original key into the new case?

    • @fasterautokeys
      @fasterautokeys  Před 2 lety

      Hello, there isn't a specific way it's the same in reverse. You can hammer the pin inside a little and press it in with channel locks too

    And if the key flips closed instead of flips open, you know you wound the spring the wrong way. Ask me how I know. ;)

    Wonderfull. but...... my battery needs to be changed I believe. Where do I go from here?

    • @fasterautokeys
      @fasterautokeys  Před 3 lety

      Hello, if the battery is bad a new VL2330 rechargeable battery will need to be soldered on. This can be done yourself or at any cellphone/electronic repair shop if you do not know how to solder. This key case can pop open and snap in place, the battery change can be done at another time for this reason.

    • @fasterautokeys
      @fasterautokeys  Před rokem

      Hello, we think it was 1mm. The link to the pin removal tool will have many sizes including this one. A very small drill bit can also do the job. Good luck!

    Should have used FAKs because I ordered 2 key fobs from the UK and ended up money going to China with no fobs arriving

  • @pwatom22

    Watch out... Some of the after market key fobs have bad mouldings so the metal parts (blade and strap piece) do not fit properly. If you are unlucky and get a bad mouldings, plan on spending a couple of hours whittling the plastic away to get the parts to fit. Hopefully FasterAutoKeys make better cases than the one I got from the mechanic that gave me this one .. garbage ! With hindsight I would get a Land Rover fob.

      This is one of the main reasons why we offer a laser key cutting service for such a low price. Yes, some are not made well and some Land Rover key blades are thick and need to be sanded down if you want to reuse the blade. Thanks!
