Replacing the drive belt on your Polaris Ranger is a job that is inevitable and is a part of regular maintenance that will need to be done over the course of owning your machine. Changing the drive belt is an easy job but there are some things to watch out for when performing this task. In this video Charles shows how to inspect and change the drive belt on a 2015-2018 Polaris Ranger 1000 XP, but this process will be similar for 2013-2019 Ranger 570 and 900 models.

best video out there on how to easily remove the belt cover and drive belt. Removing air filter and grease fitting is key. Not in the manual. Thank you.
I never monkey with the air filter box or hose, just the zert with a 10mm wrench, slide out cover from bottom with a bit of tugging on the bottom. Leave the top till the bottom comes.
Thank you wish I seen this before my buddies broke on the trail🤦🏻.
thanks for helping!
good info,thanks..
what if the belt is broken how do you get it open?
What I the torc on the secondary clutch bolt and would I use a red lock tight ?
I can’t get the belt around it
So I squeezed the belt to take it off but I guess I rotated it and now the new one won’t go on . What do I do?
You should just be able to re-spread the secondary clutch to make enough clearance to reinstall the belt. - Wes
Would a ranger start / turn over with a blown belt? Was driving for less than a minute after starting and the ranger shuddered and instantly died
Definitely can and will, they wrap themselves up
Helmet buyers guide?
which one? Premium, mid-level, or beginner? - chase
im no puss...6ft 240 I could not get the belt to squeeze down like this. For the life of me why did polaris go to this design....exactly like the video states. If your out on the trail...whats a person to do??
Me neither
I rolled most of the belt on. And then used a 18” pipe wrench to turn last bit. I broke down with tracks on in the deep snow. I tried like the video said. Easy in the dry shop on flat ground.
Maybe put it on to where it can't go anymore and cranking it?🤔
I did it in the dunes at pismo. I was able to squeeze down a few times to loosen the belt then used a small pry bar to help walk it off
I need the part# for mine please. 2015 polaris ranger 900xp?

Is it possible to get a drive belt capable of handing 150 hp diesel .Thinking of a boat project
A lot of modern side by sides produce over 150 horsepower so most quality drive belts should handle that just fine.
Have you seen what the big sleds put out now-a days? !50 hp diesel sounds like a nightmare to me anyway.
What years have this style clutches?
We list the years and models at 0:17 in this video and in the description.
Can anyone tell me if this belt is worth the money and how it compares to Polaris and hunterworks??????? Thanks
Hunterworks are the best going !!! Great company too if they don't have what you need they will steer you in the right direction !!!

Have plenty on hand. Garbage Polaris eats belts like candy!!!
7100 miles on my 900 xp, just put my 3rd belt on yesterday. 2 belts went over 7ooomi, ya belt eater.
@@armedfarm3429 You’d be on the factory belt if it were a Yamaha. I maintained a fleet of 30 UTVs and ATVs for six years for an Ag company. Had 8 year old Yamahas with 10k+ miles and thousands of hours with the factory belt. Brand new Polaris’ would break belts regularly. I begged my boss to buy only Yamaha but he kept buying the Polarises because they were cheap.
This is a load of crap; Polaris original belts are the best in the business. Quit buying the belts off of E-Bay made in China with the words Original Polaris OEM on the card container. They see you coming, LMAO.@@2003lightning1
@@2003lightning1 Yer a funny man! LMAO. My original belt was same width as the second belt, about 1/32nd" less than new. Still good for a lot of hours. The 3rd belt went on @ over 7000 miles & 2210 hrs. pretty good for 2 belts I thought & is a split blonde fuzz hair wider than the first 2. Whilst I was changing it, I wondered why I was even doing this. So, I have 2 spare belts for my2017 900 xp, @ 69yrs old, I reckon this will be my last belt. What ya think Holmes?
Original belt on my 2017 14,000 miles just got a new one
If the belt is the same shape right or left why does it matter what way it goes on.
If you take it off to inspect it or blow out the crud & put it back on you will know how it went on. Same way
