Lyrics:
It's been one week since you looked at me
Cocked your head to the side
and said I'm angry
Five days since you laughed at me saying
Get that together come back and see me
Three days since the living room,
I realized it's all my fault, but couldn't tell you
Yesterday you'd forgiven me
But it'll still be two days till I say I'm sorry
Hold it now and watch the hoodwink
As I make you stop, think
You'll think you're looking at Aquaman
I summon fish to the dish,
Although I like the Chalet Swiss
I like the sushi
Cause it's never touched a frying pan
Hot like wasabe when I bust rhymes
Big like Leann Rimes
Because I'm all about value
Bert Kaempfert's got the mad hits
You try to match wits
You try to hold me but I bust through
Gonna make a break and take a fake
I'd like a stinkin, achin shake
I like vanilla, It's the finest of the flavors
Gotta see the show,
Cause then you'll know
The Vertigo is gonna grow
Cause it's so dangerous,
You'll have to sign a waiver
How can I help it if I think you're funny when you're mad
Trying hard not to smile though I feel bad
I'm the kind of guy who laughs at a funeral
Can't understand what I mean?
Well, you soon will
I have a tendency to wear my mind on my sleeve
I have a history of taking off my shirt
It's been one week since you looked at me
Threw your arms in the air and said you're crazy
Five days since you tackled me
I've still got the rug burns on both my knees
It's been three days since the afternoon
You realized it's not my fault not a moment too soon
Yesterday you'd forgiven me
And now I sit back and wait till you say you're sorry
Chickity China the Chinese chicken
You have a drumstick and your brain stops tickin'
Watchin X-Files with no lights on,
We're dans la maison
I hope the Smoking Man's in this one
Like Harrison Ford I'm getting Frantic
Like Sting I'm Tantric
Like Snickers, guaranteed to satisfy
Like Kurosawa I make mad films
Okay I don't make films
But if I did they'd have a samurai
Gonna get a set of better clubs
Gonna find the kind with tiny nubs
Just so my irons aren't always flying off the back swing
Gotta get in tune with Sailor Moon
Cause that cartoon has got the boom anime babes
That make me think the wrong thing
How can I help it if I think you're funny when you're mad
Trying hard not to smile though I feel bad
I'm the kind of guy who laughs at a funeral
Can't understand what I mean?
You soon will
I have a tendency to wear my mind on my sleeve
I have a history of losing my shirt
It's been one week since you looked at me
Dropped your arms to your sides and said I'm sorry
Five days since I laughed at you and said
You just did just what I thought you were gonna do
Three days since the living room
We realized we're both to blame, but what could we do?
Yesterday you just smiled at me
Cause it'll still be two days till we say we're sorry
It'll still be two days till we say we're sorry
It'll still be two days till we say we're sorry

list songs that werent on the shrek soundtrack on any physical level, but were there spiritually
Never before has so true a statement been uttered
Making the case now that Digimon The Movie's soundtrack is spiritually the sibling of Shrek's soundtrack.
This is such an underrated comment.
silvermoon so in other words: the American pie soundtrack
best comment I have seen in some time. well done
Anyone who can recite all of the lyrics to this song wins my respect.
When this song came out I seriously practiced it over and over again until I could sing the whole thing. I still can all these years later haha
Typhlosion4President you do need some considerable diction skills to recite this one!! [I'M SURE THERE'S A CHALLENGE FOR THIS SOMEWHERE ON THE NET!!] KEEP GOOD MUSIC ALIVE!!
Typhlosion4President It looks impressive but really, it's easy. The song nly goes for about 2 min 30 secs and half of that is the chorus and pre-chorus which only changes a bit.
Shining Nova right !! your on then my next challenge is to cover this!! enjoy the morning!
All I know is "it's been one week since you looked at me" and "I have a tendency to wear my mind on my sleeve, I have a habit of taking off my shirt". I like the song more for the Digimon nostalgia.
A redub of the Digimon Movie was just announced, so now I'm back here listening to this song. One Week is permanently tied to that movie in my mind.
Fun fact: the 'movie' is actually the first 4 Digimon Adventure films cut and pieced together into one film, with a bunch of footage from 3 and 4 cut out due to time allotment that shouldn't have been cut because it's crucial to the storyline. That song was only used for the crappy US edit of the film. Hopefully the redub you're referring to is gonna be the uncut versions with the original Japanese music/score.
the dub version unexpectedly created a superior version than the Japanese version of the movie
Same.
@horrormonger1 I actually learned this pretty recently because I wanted to show the Digimon Movie to my 8 and 4 year old. When were watching it I was think "this is like 3 different movies in one" and I later found out it literally was lol

I was at a con in 2019 waiting in line for a voice actor's autograph, and this one guy who was pretty sloshed (it was an open-drinking con) was somehow able to perfectly recite this song as it was playing on the speakers. Whoever you are, Drunk Con Guy, I appreciate you.
I did the same thing with the song bleed it out. My friends thought it was awesome. I didn't remember until they told me.
A true hero.

The Chinese chicken part is the only part that was stuck in my head as a kid . I agree excellent line

Is this a veiled insult to drummers? ;)
No matter how many times I come back to this video I still can't believe that in the era of the 90s, when Boyz II Men and Mariah dominated Billboard with an iron fist, this song managed to become the number one song in the USA.
And they held that spot for exactly _one week._
The early 90s and late 90s were two entirely different times, as far as I’m concerned.
What do you mean
It’s fucking horrible.

Justin Armstrong I dig the pun. Best comment I've seen on the internet in years
When I first came to the US in 1998, this song would be played on TV daily. I got hooked right away even though my English was not that good and did not quite understand the fast-paced lyrics. 24 years later, I still come back here from time to time to reminisce.
I know english all my life, and it's hard to keep up :) It's a bit like those "patter song" from movies. The famous one being about being the very model of a modern major general ( Pirates of Penzance, sp?)
My life goal is knowing all the words to this

I've already memorized it. My goal is singing it smoothly all the way through without tripping over my own tongue.
It took too many brain cells, but I have accomplished it

Yeah, because the recording industry got destroyed. Trust me, theres great music out there. You just don't have MTV telling you whats cool and what to like. You have to find it yourself.
yeah as if this isin't a thing that changes with every nostalgia wave
In high school this girl wrote all the words down to the song and I got to memorize them. That was 22 years ago and it's still one of the nicest things anyone ever did for me. This was well before the internet so I don't know how she did it.

I wanna make a song like this.... shxt is hard!!
You know this song is about a guy who murdered his gf, right?
I'm proud to say I can sing along to about 85 percent of this song, I remember singing to this on the radio when I was in middle school
Digimon Nostalgia hit me so hard I face planted back into the Digimon movie
Finally found someone who also knows that this song is used in digimon
Digimon and American pie. Those were the good days
I was talking about digimon and wanted to listen to this song. I'm glad I'm not the only one who associates the two
I was watching a video then this song came up, and it instantly brought back my memories of watching Digimon. I HAD to find this song and see if anyone was reminded the same.
Oh dang. I completely forgot this song was in digimon! I need to watch that movie again.
Nandor's proof that he is human now
*bat*
He knows the whole fucking song. 😂
That’s pretty gosh darn human of him
I was still pretty young when this came out. I replayed that track so many times until I had all the lyrics memorized. It doesn't feel that long ago... When I hear it at the grocery store, sometimes I sing along. Good times.
One of my most memorable experiences involving the song "One Week" by Barenaked Ladies happened during my college years. It was a warm spring evening, and my friends and I decided to organize a karaoke night at our favorite local bar.
As the night progressed and more people took turns singing their favorite tunes, the energy in the bar was contagious. The atmosphere was filled with laughter, cheers, and the occasional off-key performance. I was enjoying the diverse range of songs being sung when suddenly, "One Week" started playing over the speakers.
Instantly, the crowd erupted with excitement. It seemed like everyone knew the song and couldn't resist joining in. The familiar fast-paced lyrics of "One Week" echoed throughout the bar, and people started singing and dancing along, completely caught up in the infectious rhythm.
Encouraged by the enthusiastic response, I decided to take the stage and give it a shot. I grabbed the microphone and started singing along with all my might. The lyrics flew by at lightning speed, and I did my best to keep up with the rapid-fire delivery, even though some parts were a bit of a tongue twister.
To my surprise, as I sang, more and more people joined in, creating an impromptu chorus. Strangers became instant collaborators, shouting out the catchy lines and harmonizing with me. It was a fantastic moment of unity and shared joy as we all came together through the power of music.
By the time the song ended, the entire bar was buzzing with energy and excitement. Strangers were high-fiving and hugging, sharing in the collective experience we had just created. The atmosphere remained vibrant throughout the night, with the positive energy lingering long after "One Week" had faded into the background.
That evening, the song "One Week" became a symbol of the incredible connections that can be forged through music. It reminded me of the power of a catchy tune to bring people together, even if just for a fleeting moment. Whenever I hear "One Week" now, I'm transported back to that unforgettable night of spontaneous karaoke and the magic it brought to our lives.

TheWhynaut
Not really. I mean, even if it was, it was a better version for the TV show. I mean many things are mimicked, like Tosh.0 from the Soup, Colbert Report from the Daily Show, etc.
Game wise ti sucked, but TV wise, Digimon blows Pokemon out of the water, both story wise and creativity wise. But the creators are related or good friends.
MUCH MORE SIMPLER? MAYBE YOU SHOULDVE STUDYED MUCH MORE HARDER AT SCHOOL INSTEAD OF LISTENING TO THE RADIO AND PLAYING WITH POKEMONS!

Omg Al-Quolanudar?? My ex husband Nandor was from there! Me and his 36 other wives left him after he started sleeping all day and drinking blood… Any relation I wonder?
Caught these guys in concert at Universal Studios in Orlando and they put on a great show. Excellent musicians with a sense of humor who even worked some Led Zep into their set. They are much more than one-dimensional Chinese Chickens!
Was it Mardi Gras?
When?
Let’s just appreciate how good this song still is
it has finally become sausage, good job everybody
Digimon: The Movie!
Early 2000's were the best...
Yes!
Amen to that
***** It's from 1998 actually. It even reached #1 in the U.S. in October 1998
Kyle Tee oh fuck, you yanks always have to bring it back to that.
Kyle Tee It probably was for someone, there was bound to be more going on on this planet somewhere.
These guys were at the Epcot Food and Wine festival in 2019. When I first heard this song being played when I walked past the mini amphitheater near the American Pavilion, I thought it was a band doing an excellent job covering the song. My jaw hit the floor when I saw on the concert schedule that it really was them playing.
They were excellent :). Most of the audience were jumping up and down and having a blast.
Funny. 😃 I saw them live in 2015, Universal Studios Orlando. They did a 90min show. About 40min was banter & talking 🗣.
Were you there for the smash mouth melt down
@@jimmymetal713 ?
@@beckyweiss6072 I believe that's where it was, when the lead singer was to drunk to perform... And had a melt down
It was a different wine fest
Impossible not to smile listening to this crazy, wonderful song.
"Like Kurosawa I make mad films OK I don't make films but if I did they'd have a Samurai"
Even Lennon and McCartney would've struggled to beat that line.
