Lyrics:
I was lying on the grass on Sunday morning of last week
Indulging in my self defeat
My mind was thugged all laced and bugged all twisted wrong and beat
A comfortable three feet deep
Now the fuzzy stare from not being there on a confusing morning week
Impaired my tribal lunar speak
And of course you can't become if you only say what you would have done
So I missed a million miles of fun
I know it's up for me
If you steal my sunshine
Making sure I'm not in too deep
If you steal my sunshine
Keeping versed and on my feet
If you steal my sunshine - Hudba
Who is here in 2024 wishing things were like they were in 1998.
That's what my wife and I say all the time. Before 9/11, two endless wars, COVID, and please nothing else.
Back when care-free life was grand and we had no worries in life!!!!!! #FunInTheSun
Not me.😐. My life was a corona virus then. Hope double jeopardy is true😐
Why 1998? This song came out in 1999. '98 was cool too though :)

Born in 82, graduated in 2000. Long live the 90’s music era ❤️ can’t steal our sunshine!
Same. We were the last of Gen X. Saw the end of the landline, the beginning of the internet, the ridiculous idea that the boomers had something to sell out from, and aghast at the protective bubbles in which the fragile millenials were placed.
'83 here, graduated in 2001. This song takes me back to that beautiful end of the 90s where my summers were spent hanging out at the local waterpark in the blazing hot summer sun, laying on an innertube, listening to the 90s jams pumping out of the nearby speakers with not another single care in the entire world other than THAT moment right there. It feels like absolute bliss now.

Born in 78. The 90’s and early 2000’s were great. No cellphones all over the place. No social media. You would just roll up to someone’s house to see if they were there. I wish I knew then, how special those times were.

Your damn right they were better times. I miss it so much.

There were cell phones all over the place. There was internet.

53 yrs old, and a metalhead for most of my life. I hate how much I love this song.
Lol this song and Lief Garrett’s “I was made for dancing” are the 2 songs I love that I hope I never get caught listening to by my friends because the teasing would be never ending.
This song makes life a lil better just for a little bit and that's alright with me 😊😊😊

Well this is one of those songs that transcends peace and violence. It could be in a Disney cartoon or a horror film and would be totally appropriate.
Lol....same here..59....not Slayer but catchy as hell
The story behind this music video is amazing. So these guys went knowing that they were one hit wonders at best. So they took all the funding for the video and convinced the producers to pretty much pay for their vacation and they just filmed the trip lmao. Brilliant overall.

The 1990's was the calm before the storm. We didn't know how good we had it.
It was a fool's paradise. The warning signs of things to come were there but we didn't know it at the time.
The 1980s was the end of the fun and innocent era because in the 90s school shootings started. It started with the columbine high school massacre and then continued on. We had the Rodney King riots in Los Angeles, grunge music glorifying mental illness and suicide. We had musician over dosing and literally committing suicide also gangster rap glorifying murder rape and prostitution (pimping) Rap artists killing each other because of the West coast East coast rivalry that killed 2 pac and biggie smalls. America in the 1990s became a violent place

Nah, just heard it for the first time and it sucked. But what do i know, maybe it grows on ya
@@borstis6783 different generation maybe.
Coincidentally, Steal my Sunshine and Walking on Sunshine are both great one-hit wonders
Truffffffff!
I was 16 when this came out. No smartphones or social media. God o misa the 90's. True freedom
It took my ass 15 years looking for this damn song!! 😭
I'm glad you found it.
This is still pop perfection until this day
more, more, more, that's a better version than this crap
One of the only pop songs I seem to enjoy.
pop is short for popular so technically its not really pop anymore
Saad Merhebi who the fuck cares
CYBERSPECTRUMND you said "this is pop perfection" I'm telling you this isn't pop sooooo just correcting youuu
Man do I miss the late 90s. 1998 i was 18. Being a teen in the 90s was awesome! No worries, no cell phones, no social media. Friends, parties, music and movies. Man do i miss the closeness. Especially calling each other on actual phones and talking for hours. Today's world is falling apart and it does not even resemble anything back then. Sad really.
Agreed, I also was 18🙌🏽
Same bro. I was 18 too. Class of '96
Can't agree more brother. Born in 82
@@coryschritter5944 1980 here. Just turmed 40. You dont realize until you get older, that time period was prob some of the best in your life.
I got my first cell phone in 1993 While in high school. A motorola ultra lite or something like that. The grey one with flip bottom. I was one of the only ones in school to have one so was useless as I could only really phone my folks lol
1983 born, skating 1990s…remembering these times with kick flips.
90s when we were enjoying ourselves and not scared of one another
Amazing what a couple decades of social media has done.
I miss the 90s! Last of the simple times. When your cellphone was just for phone calls.
...If you even had one. I didn't get my first cell phone until I was 21, I'm 30 now. Now, eight year olds have iPhones. How times have changed...
I had a beeper at the time, everyone thought I was a drug dealer lmao good times.
Came here during coronavirus. Needed a smile on my face.
same here brother, look after yourself.
Same, Stay safe
likewise, be good brother.
I hear ya
Same here dude. Gonna go to sleep now to get up early and actually find something decent at the supermarket....ugh
I'm here in 2024 wishing things were like they were in 1998. Good times for sure!!!! Definitely not the same
Here in 2024 reminiscing how America peaked in the 90s-00s
Sucks that’s all we think about now watching these
Are u 40, plus or minus a couple years?
I actually go to fly twice before 9/11, those were the days. With that, I also remember how creepy it was not hearing any planes when the no fly order was set after 9/11.
Canada, these guys (and gal) were from Toronto.
Love how nobody's trying to be tough, everyone's just straight up vibin' 😊
On point!
But that's what made it so hard😎
Canadian... :)
@Stovepipe Downtube Where did he say he hates tough guys?
Excellent call bro
Damn i miss the 90's. The world was a much more fun place to be.
it sure was but then again I was under the age of ten in the 90s (turned ten in 99)
I was only a teen, but it didn't seem like everybody hated each other then.
Was around in the 90's for 6 years. I have a great memory and it was defs a different time.
you can thank the internet for that one
cfairfax85 nah just look how people dressed like a bunch of degenerates
Im 37 and just recovered this in my memory after hearing it on the radio ❤❤❤ ✝️ xxxx
It just popped in my head loved it as a kid
Born in 1981 have to say nothing compares to the 90's era. The music was fun and life was simpler..
😮Same here i was born in 81. 90s were the best era
1981 Babies represent!
🤟😂
You had the 80’s and the 90’s. I only had the tail end of the 80’s (see my username), the 90’s, the downfall of MTV, and mumble rap.
Born in 1982, but I like 80's even more.
@@djcrownvic7017 Me too. 90s were great, but the 80s rocks.🤟
The 90s wasn't a decade, it was an emotion.
I'm autistic and music in the 90s was relief from getting bullied.
It was actually a decade in time lol
It was a decade. Get over yourself.
@@dan1906 LOL
@@dan1906 lmfao umad kid?
Just can't believe how this song has well aged!! Watching south Park and the tune came on classic!!!!!!!❤
THIS SONG WILL NEVER DIE
The 90s. The last great decade. Will continue to live on forever in my memory.
Pre 9/11 America was peak Western civilization
I agree...I'm 42. Miss those times.
Actually it was the greatest decade...hardly any war as far as USA goes. $$$ worth more. Everything was better except the TVs.
@@realmichaud And Apartments weren't more expensive than a home mortgage lol
50s up till about 2000 were pretty awesome.
I prefer the 80s but that was a heck of a 50 year run.
Too Bad it's over.@@realmichaud
I'm 63 years old and for some reason I just love this damn song and can't get tired of it.
I know exactly how you feel 😂
I'm 54 and know EXACTLY how you feel.
Geez, I'm 77 and it makes me feel good. Oh, to be young again!
@@bobwalsh7127 this should have had far way more views.
66 years old and still haven't grown up.
So many great memories around this song! The '90s were the best.
Just heard it on a commercial on adult swim. Switched it on right away
This song embodies the mental freedom you’re longing for.
I'm in Bay County Florida, riding a Jetski while getting a handjob from a solid 7.5 off Tinder. And the entire time I'm shooting off a .38 snub nosed revolver into the air. Mental and emotional freedom is what you choose to seize of it. I decided to stop being so uptight and worried, and am just going with the flow. Party, date, hang out after work and just see what happens. You can always find something cool and laid back to do, so long as you have the crew who is down to chill and party with you.
You nailed it lol
Yes you nailed it lol
Stop being so accurate....
Well put!!!!!
Drippin
Video was recorded in August 1998. That shot of the pregnant woman who looked ready to give birth.. Meaning that kid is about 22 years old today. Let that sink in 😂
(EDIT: 2/23) Holy crap this got a lot or replies. I had someone from the band contact me to correct me that the video was shot in March 1999, making said baby 21. And yes, I still feel old.
4 hours later after you
im watching the video and scrolling down looking for this comment
You make me feel old, and I'm only 40....
@@aelari LOL me too! Graduated from high school and it took until now when I truly knew what I want to do with my life 😂
Yep, how time flys by fast 😕
1998...Oh to be 22 again.
Memories of better days. I wish I was still this young.
I was born in 2000, but all the late 90s tunes were still on the radio for years after where I lived. This brings back great memories! Though I wished I was alive for the 70s😫
Man I remember being a kid listening to this wishing I was an adult. Now as an adult with a teenager of my own I sure wish I could go back to those days. Life goes by so fast.
Honestly life was much simple back then :/
@@sassyw6237 right!! And so much more fun.
yes lass I am hearing you only seems like yesterday riding double decker buses back in the 60s I miss those carefree days but that's time love 🙏☯️⚘💞
This is why it's so important to learn to live in the present, otherwise you'll always be wishing for another time. Speaking of the 90's, Cheryl Crowe had a song called "Soak Up The Sun" which has a lyric in it that's apropos: "It's not getting what you want, it's wanting what you got."
amen
I'm 36, and still not ashamed to rock the shit outta this!
wounded_ knees Good on you brother 😊👌
Sue Daneem I have to remind myself not to do the L.A.T.E.R. that week...part when I'm in the grocery store or somewhere. unless it's walmart. then my give a damn breaks every time.
