Ray. You did the right thing. The show was amazing right to the end.
Tv is insufferable but the was a good one
Great Interview. Miss you Ray, and now having seen The Investigator, I miss both of you, Rich and Ray Romano!! Wish we could see a lot more of you both. :-)
Ray still makes over $20M a year on syndication. So he can afford 2 therapy sessions per week. Which, btw, also goes to prove that your emotional and mental health isn't dependent on having a lot of money alone.
If they had stopped at the eighth season, we wouldn't have seen such gems like "Angry Sex", "Pat's Secret", "Debra's Parents" and "A Date for Peter".
"Boy's therapy" too. One of the best episodes IMO.
WHAT AN ABSOLUTE LEGEND
Ever sense I found your channel online starting with shaq I haven't stopped watching them, brilliant interviews keep them coming.
Everybody loves Raymond is the best sitcom ever.
A perfect parallel to a child taking care of their sick parent for years. But then the parent dies. And the child being completely in the groove of the old routine struggles to find a new routine. This is where being a volunteer for the needs of others can soften that blow. Or in Ray's case, helping others make their mark, just as Johnny and Dave. It's no different than a relay race, passing on the baton.
Yes...this
Graham I think I'm going to have to subscribe.
It's a good thing Raymond ended when it did. It was starting to get a little stale, and if it had continued, we would have had to potentially deal with the death of Peter Boyle and the subsequent death of Frank Barone on screen, which would have sucked, since Frank was such a huge part
That must have been a reason, why they wanted to end it with season 8.
Genuine guy.
Ray has more time to practice and play golf, sounds pretty ideal to me (plus the coin to go to some NICE courses)!
Clearly this same depression affected the kids. Such a shame.
Ray here! hahaha!
Seems like a good dude. Hope he is.
It's like taking care of a loved one. You're in the groove until the time is done and they're gone. If Ray read his Bible from Gen.1:1 to Rev.22:21, the wisdom from those words could have spared him all the anguish while still keeping his wit. People don't seem to know that about the Bible. Oh...there is great wit, along with the serious wisdom.
Plus loads of bs.
After I win an Oscar for Best Director will I be invited to the show?
isn't it ironic the guy who made America laugh for 10 years was sort of being treated for depression twice a week....
Most comedians are depressed.
Where y'all should have ran it for another five or ten years it would have went strong
Frank would've died. He didn't make it a year after the cancellation.
these interviews are always so sick
+Josh08752 thanks, Josh!
