Saw one in a shop and decided to try it out and grab it. This, as heard in the video, is a really cool pedal. I've set my own presets to my preferred sound and you can range anywhere from a very slight natural sounding reverb to the crazy choir and church bell sounding stuff with everything in between. Obviously as you can tell I'm very happy with the pedal. If you want to add just plain reverb it's already a fantastic sounding pedal, but the ability to add some spice with the chorus sends it even higher. Great work.
It's not fair there isn't a software/plugin version of this. Best Pedal ever.
It's definitely the next pedal on my shopping list. Looks like I can have hours of fun with this.

Got mine in the mail today and can't wait to dig in. Why am I waiting? Got the Wampler Ethereal today as well, and that seemed less intimidating so I started there and haven't stopped. This demo does a great job of explaining everything, and the playing is real nice too. Thanks!
Truth be told I'm a blues guy (mainly the real old fingerpicking stuff), not so much an ambient player. Looking to combine the best of both worlds, because I love reverb in all its forms, even these extreme ones. When you think about it, a lot of these sounds evoke a Blind Willie Johnson kind of feeling, at least to me. An otherworldly spookiness, for lack of a better phrase.
Well, just came back to this video after months without seeing it, and I can officially say, I'm sold. Honestly this device seems perfect for me. It would give me all of the dreamy shimmering I could ever want out of a reverb pedal, as well as deep immersion, and that all too important vintage cosmic vortex vibe. Basically everything I could want out of the big sky, but without all of the superfluous menu diving in the functionality That I never tend to use/isn't accessible to me because being visually impaired I can't exactly accomplish the menu diving required to change the big skies deeper parameters. Thank you EQD for keeping things simple, and thus, a bit more accessible to everyone.

I've been using a Strymon Blue Sky for shimmer reverb for over 4 years. However, I recently bought a used Astral Destiny and I prefer the shimmer settings more because of the added features and controls (along with the non-shimmer setting). Of course the Astral Destiny doesn't do "normal" reverb like the Blue Sky, but that's not what it's designed for. I also own the Afterneath which is a truly great pedal too. I think I need to put together a 3rd pedalboard because of all the pedals I own (currently I have one pedalboard for live work and one for my home studio).

That sub mode tape modulation makes this one very hard for me to resist. Demented yet dreamy and very musical. I hear this pedal as something I would probably apply most often on single note stuff, which is why I don’t think the lack of stereo is a deal breaker...that can come later in the chain and in this context makes sense. Brilliant thinking in how expression pedal modes are accessed. I get mine early next week!
Hello, I run a stereo rig and you are correct. I have my ADestiny infront of my stereo modulation part and its fantastic for single notes or handpicked triads.

I've thought this whole time that if you saved a preset, you overwrite the stock sound in that position on the mode dial. I'm very relieved to find that's not the case and I can save weird niche sounds as presets to my heart's content. Great thinking making Live and Preset modes distinct, rather than treating presets like synth patches and having user-designed sounds overwrite stock patches.
LOVE this pedal soo far. What else should I build with it? Vox AC15 and Tele. Not other pedals (fell in love with it) and kind of new to the world of them

Just got this pedal, and of course I love it! Quick question though - is there a way to set the "stretch" activation to only stay active while the switch is held down (so that when my foot releases it turns off)? If there's ever a V2 for this one, my only recommendation is to make that an option if it isn't already, as well as a knob control for shimmer blend ratio with the reverb. Thanks, EQD!
While this is not a bad idea, and would be a good addition, you can easily circumvent this issue by just tapping it twice when you’re done with the setting. Also, Expression capabilities can really come in clutch for this as well.
Saw this in the shop today and was very intrigued. I have a Fender Vibro Champ and want to get some really spacey, reverb sounds. Looks like this is it?

Yes, but you can have a live mode setting going and switch to a preset on the fly, which is kind of like switching between 2 presets.

So the Stretch footswitch does not have a momentary mode, but instead when you hold it, it will do the pitch bending effect?? So if you just wanted it for a second, you just tap on then tap off like in the 'old days' before flexi-switch?
Hi, The Stretch footswitch doubles the length of the reverb effect while adding a temporary change in pitch. Tap for an immediate pitch change, or hold for a temporary pitch bending effect. The speed of the of the pitch bending effect can be adjusted, and yes you can tap it on/off at any time. There is a good example of what you are curious about at 08:45 and your question may be best answered by watching this part of the video.

Mic the Astral Destiny sound coming out of the left side stereo speaker, run the mic into a delay pedal with a very small amount of delay and run that into the right side stereo speaker via a mixing board. You now have a STEREO Astral Destiny.

Does it work well as just a reverb pedal too?
You can dial a very normal vanilla sounding reverb in abyss mode. But it's obvious that's not what this pedal is for.
Yea i had to buy one…. Total mind bender…. SD vapor trail makes it even weirder…. Dont do drugs with this one kids..
