haha he was having a good time. we had a Jamaican truck driver that used to deliver lumber and sheet goods to a shop I used to work for pretty large semi truck/trailer combo and sometimes drive double trailers. every other person who delivered to our shop would park outside the property and have us fork everything in because it was way too tight to back in or get in and turn around but this dude somehow would come flying in like he was in a little sports car, whip that rig around and be right next to where we needed to unload haha when he had double trailers he'd back in and do it faster than i could back a pickup truck and small trailer in. he was very talanted. if you ever complimented him he would say "it is no ting" lol couple times he unloaded using our fork lift too because he wanted to move some stuff around on the trailer and he was just a adept with that, it was fun to watch him.

Denis Charbonneau indeed it is harder on components when the vehicle is not moving, I've snapped a tie rod end doing this, but I've been to Jamaica and all there trucks are old and most of them are driven this way and they've still lasted

That must stop the driver from abusing the truck LOL.....when our drivers break trucks, we put them on the piece of shit truck with no a/c and no mufflers. That's a real quick way to f*** up the transmission. shifting and slamming gears like that can chip one of the gear teeth or break the shift linkage under the top cover and cause major, expensive damage!! if the speed and rpm's are correct, each gear should almost fall into place.

Young or not, that 's no excuse nor does it give him the right to treat that rig like shit and fuck it up (just listen to the engine struggling to stay "alive" ) I mean, how the hell does he think to get a CDL "driving" like that ? . Like you said, just one gear tooth chipped off can turn the gearbox into scrap metal. And if the gearbox doesn't give up, the engine will for sure. I' ve seen that, and trust me, it doesn't look pretty. US rigs (and some from Europe) are built to last (hell, I saw a 60's KW on CZcams with over 8 million miles on the clock, still rollin' rubber, haulin' loads), but this is just too much to take for any rig, no matter how tough. I know some will call me a hater, but I don't give a fuck, I know I 'm telling what most people will think if they see this, whether they are drivers or just big rig fans.

Im 30 and have been driving sticks since my first car at 15, I know nothing about 18 speeds but Im a good 5spd driver and know with a 5 speed if you shift just right while [rev matching] you can shift very quickly and have them fall into place even with a worn transmission, presuming you know what your doing but its about the timing and rev matching when upshifting, my question is , is this the same with the 18 spds,I understand quickly with out rev matching is BAD and and forcing them in is bad but if the gears float it and you do it quickly is it still bad with a 18 spd?
