  • Even if you're not a professional detailer, you've surely run across stubborn water spots on your car. This can happen when you park next to sprinklers, leave it out in the rain, or even from your car washing hose if the water isn't perfectly-clean. The solution? Use MDR, (Mineral Deposit Remover) during your next wash to remove water spots from glass, paint, and rubber trim! MDR is safe on all automotive exterior surfaces and doesn't cover water spots, but removes them! However, MDR is not limited to automobiles. It can also be used around the house on shower doors, mirrors, faucets,, and windows.
Even if you think you think the spots on your car have been there forever, you'll be amazed at just how much cleaner your paint and glass can be! For best results, follow up with a light polish and protect the finish with wax!

We get absolutely horrible hard water spots and etching in my area. I've tried countless dedicated water spot remover products. They have all failed spectacularly. I've tried the steel wool, magic erasers, Lava soap bar, etc.. Takes a lot of aggression, time and effort to get any results.
Now I pretty much just default to grabbing my buffer with a cutting pad and compound. Because I know it will actually work well in a short amount of time.
But I have yet to be disappointed by an Optimum product. So I'll give this stuff a shot out of loyalty.
God I hate glass. I literally have nightmares about being forced to detail cars made entirely of glass..

MDR striped the wax while eating away the deposits, that’s fine, so after rinsed away with ONR, just wax to give the car back it’s protection. My question is:
    Will MDR strip Gloss Coat?
Another question, is there anything to top Gloss Coat after washes that will actually stay on to help Gloss Coat extend its coating life? Or Gloss Coat will just shed everything? Thanks for your time. Ray Simental

I would bet the mineral deposits etched i to the clear coat. The mdr would’ve definitely removed the deposits, but what you have left are indentations of where the deposits used to be. Those indentations would need to be polished out. So it’s not that the mdr didn’t work, but that the mineral deposits etched i to the clear. That would be my guess idk man

Derek Truong the reason you need to remove the mineral deposits, Is so that when polishing your clear coat, it tends to "swell", when the swelling subsides the mineral deposit stains will return, you must try to remove as much of the mineral deposits as possible so that when this swelling occurs there are no mineral deposits to worry about returning. Does that make sense?

Dirt and contaminants will drop to the bottom and stay there. Nothing that you put in the bucket will get back on the wash media when you're using ONR. Even very fine silt that always floats in soap solution will drop to the bottom of an ONR solution.
