He’s made a reputation for himself by being selfless and not cutting ppl off for their decisions but supporting them in making the better decisions and I’m all for it. It's all the food, water, exercise and vitamins that he does with it. The really bad drunks don't eat well and lose all their vitamins and minerals which cause all the other problems along with the alcohol. I had a neighbor who had a ranch most of his life and he was 92 when he died, his family told me he drank a bottle of whiskey everyday, but ate right and worked his ass off. The human body is a masterpiece of fixing itself if it has the right tools, but without them you'll definitely have a bad death.

    • @BeastxxWar
      @BeastxxWar Před rokem

      @@francus7227 every form of addiction is some form of running. It looks different for everyone but it usually boils down to a very simple formula of an inability to release or deal with things in life. Whether that be going overboard when having a "good time" or coping with losses or regrets. Bert has said he knows hes an alcoholic, knows its a demon that he actively battles. He is in a stage where acknowledging that demon helps him in some way mentally to deal with the fact that he doesnt even approve of some of his own behavior. Most people with addiction are running from thoughts, feelings, or situations that make them uncomfortable. For bert, he cant have a rip roaring good time without indulging in lots of drinking. Which is super common in society btw. In a sense, he is running from the hard truth that those behaviors are harming him instead of helping him. Whether it started as a good time and just escalated over time to where he cant stop, he knows he needs to scale way back or quit, for his own sake. He is running from that battle because it will be hard and he has also built up his professional persona around those behaviors. Its hard because that will require him to radically change his behavior since his everyday or nearly everyday life consists of heavy drinking and partying. That lifestyle change is a big deal and its scary and challenging and bert seemingly, admittedly, doesnt want or feel the need to make that change at this point in his life. Like many alcoholics that know theyre going too hard or have a problem, he has the attitude of "i know its a problem that i will likely need to confront at some point, but im not done yet, and that point is not now, despite more and more concerned friends telling me to stop". I hope he helps himself sooner rather than later. Nothing wrong with being a "used-to-be-big-partier". Gotta tone it down at some point though if he wants to have a better chance at a longer life. No one is promised a long life but purposely poisoning yourself repeatedly over time is not self respect or self care and being the author of our lives we can choose to write a fun but sad story thst ends in self destruction or we can choose to learn from our mistakes and write one with some sad parts followed by tales of rediscovery and redemption.

    Just the thought of feeling like absolute crap the next day was enough for me to stop drinking. It has to be like a super special occasion (if that!) it's not worth feeling miserable for the next 2-3 days as your body recovers. Feeling healthy is the best feeling in the world why do we have to have a stimulant to have fun? good friends and laughs are more than enough.

      Meh... You just don't cut it out cold turkey. I'm an alcoholic I can go cold turkey for a couple weeks if I want but I just like drinking. When I don't have HORRIBLE insomnia. I can easily be up for 48 hours before my body will actually sleep.
      Medical suggestion is to slowly cut back on the amount you drink over the course of a week or two. No need for actual supervision.

    When i use to work as shoe salesman, one of my co-workers (an older lady) always had a bright red face and she would actively drink through-out the day.
    One day she didnt come in for her shift so the manager called and a family member of her's picked up and told him that she had passed away the previous night.

      You most certainly can blame him. I live in the Midwest and you're right about it being everywhere but if you have self control and self discipline then it's not that difficult. And I started drinking a lot at one point and stepped back cuz I didn't want it to be a problem. And I'm not passing judgment on those who drink, even excessively, because it's not my place to do so. But it's definitely naive to say "you can't blame him" (or anyone else for that matter) because at the end of the day it's our own choice to pick up the bottle or not and especially to not stop after a couple and keep it going and especially when it becomes a daily habit. I say this all with love though. But yeah, definitely a choice in my opinion. Nobody is forcing anyone to do so. All about self control. And moderation is the key. 🗝 👌
