RDO (left) and Darth Grimby (right) discuss what metal songs are better than their original versions. (or are they?) Intro music by Tormented - / user-578814899 Thanks for your support.
Heathen’s cover of “Set Me Free” (Sweet) Overkill’s cover of “Hymn 43” (Jethro Tull) Sepultura’s cover of “Orgasmatron” (Motörhead) Death’s cover of “God of Thunder “ (KISS) Sanctuary’s cover of “White Rabbit “ (Jefferson Airplane) It’s not better than the original, but Wrathchild America does a fantastic cover of Pink Floyd’s “Time.”
Man I disovered a really cool cover song after we did this video. A rad prog metal band out of Massachusetts called Wilderun did a super rad cover of Iron Maiden's "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son". Y'all should check it out if you like Maiden.
Disturbed's covers of Land of Confusion(Genesis) and Sound of Silence(Simon and Garfunkel) are amazing, better than the originals in my personal opinion.
@@MetalbyteMedia yes, I was there! Fantastic show. When Martin (guitars) told me they were coming to Moncton, I responded and said, "no, you are thinking of Montreal" hah. What I wouldn't give for another show like that.
Not sure on a top 5 but a few covers I love: Anthrax Antisocial Megadeth Cold Sweat Metallica Stone Cold Crazy Iron Maiden Rainbows Gold Alien Ant Farm Smooth Criminal Saxon Ride Like The Wind Motorhead & Girlschool Please Don't Touch AC/DC Baby Please Don't Go
Ansolute favorite would be Astronomy Domine by Voivod, originally by Pink Floyd. Runner up would be Easy by Faith No More, originally by The Commodores.
Hey gents...here's my top 5: Helmet - symptom of the universe (jerky boys soundtrack) - Black Sabbath cover Type O Negative - cinnamon girl (october rust) - Neil Young cover White Zombie - god of thunder (god of thunder ep) - Kiss cover Corrosion of Conformity - Lord of this world (nativity in black tribute) - Black Sabbath cover Metallica - last caress (garage days re-revisited) - Misfits cover
Great vid guys. Speaking of your friends that aren't into metal (like me), are you guys into other music besides metal? Maybe you've answered this in another video if so sorry for asking again. 😆🤘🏻
Thanks! Yeah man I've got pretty diverse tastes. I'd say I listen to metal 80% of the time. The rest is a mix of country, folk, rock, techno/electronica (or whatever that's called now), industrial, synthwave, a bit of punk and pop punk, and then 80s/90s pop music. Generally if a song has a cool bass line or a fast beat, I'm probably digging it.
Thanks dude! 100% metal for me but on some days I run on 101% I can spin classic or hard rock, classical, jazz, synth pop, industrial, hip hop, R&B, country almost anything.
NO WAY!!! I paused the video at 7:50 and noticed that they did a cover of a STONE song. LOL!! I know...I know...there's a connection between the bands.
A couple of my favorites are Hammerfall's cover of "Ravenlord", although the original was really good too, and Judas Priest's "Green Manilishi" (the live version on Unleashed in the east). I agree that priest had some great covers but what do you think of their version of "Johnny B Goode"? Some people really like it but to me it's awful and nauseating, even though Priest are easily in my top 3 bands of all time.

Also, nice Aephanemer shirt!

Sentenced does digging the grave better then faith no more imo and I love Metallica’s die die just as much as the misfits.
This might be an unpopular opinion, but Sympathy For The Devil by GnR
Come on; my heart will go on by dragon force… 😎
Yeah that was not bad. But I really love the Skyrim song on that album.
