Every famous name mentioned in the rapping part brings its own deep message. "One for all and all for one" by Dumas is a very timely call for national unity in face of the threat of ruSSia's full-scale war, as well as the need for Picasso's peace dove. The reference to Dante, who wrote "Divine comedy" about the afterlife soul's journey but nowadays could be writing "Divine tragedy", refers to the current imminent danger of sending humankind to the afterlife. Shakespeare is the master of drama bringing up existential questions including the most famous one "To be or not to be". And Alina's call is "To Be!" and to write our OWN history, remembering ancestors, history, and culture, and to leave our own legacy after ourselves, beautiful like fairytales by Grimm brothers. Very clever lines which should speak to all of Europe, but, unfortunately, can be missed by less educated people. And the sounds at the beginning and the end are bird calls, uniting with Nature. And I love the beautiful message in the visuals of her eyes: it zooms in and in the depth of each eye another eye keeps appearing like eyes of generations of ancestors. We are onions with layers created by ancestors, direct of spiritual, coming from different cultures.
It was a pleasure to watch your reaction. The message is to remember your ancestors but write your own history. So many families are split now and devastated, because of personal conflicts, wars, economic deprivation and thus, migration. And Ukrainians share this pain of the black slavery because russia once imposed slavery on Ukrainians too. And Stalin ruined vast majority of Ukrainian villages and families by forcefully moving them to Siberia and Far East of Russia and exploited their hardwork for free, not giving people enough food, using tortures and guns to control them. Those who escaped those Stalin's labour camps were either killed or seriously tortured. So here Alina sings that there were difficult times for our people,but we must remember our ancestors and write a better history.
Since Alina was born in Transcarpathia, she used some ethnic motives. It is a feature of Ukraine that each corner has its own differences, and its own feature, and even its own language. The first verse where she sings in Ukrainian tells about the long-suffering history of Ukraine. I think that the meaning of the song relates not only to Ukrainians but in principle to all nations of the world. In my humble opinion, Alina promotes very important values: 1. "one for all, and all for one" (be together, love your neighbor); 2. be aware of the scale of the "divine tragedy" (wars, climate change, hatred, racism, hunger, poverty and many other problems) 3. and solve it strategically (Picasso's dove is not only about the peace against war, but in general about everything pure and noble, about love for nature, people, and oneself); 4. humanism (Shakespeare's books; or just Alina's biographical mention that her parents didn't have enough money for baby dolls, and books have been "these toys" (which is very important, now fewer people read books as they did before)); 5. to leave a legacy (don't "swim with the stream", don't be indifferent, don't live in the past, and by remembering old good days, but "write your history" now). In general, this list can be continued as you feel. Also don't forget that the mentioned figures are from France, Italy, Spain, Great Britain, and Germany - the founding countries of Eurovision & the host country of this year's contest. No doubt that many listeners will be able to find an example or even, let's say, a kindred spirit, in the names of great people, which will make the song even closer to the audience. It's just WOW! There’s a huge scandal because of Alina Pash ‘winning’. Ukraine overwhelmingly voted for Kalush, but judges shuffled the votes and didn’t disclose them to the public. Kalush is the real winner. But Alina has powerful friends in Ukraine and good promotion in Europe, that’s how she ‘won’. Such a disgrace. Everybody in Ukraine I know voted for Kalush and Wellboy and everybody is mad as hell. There is also a political scandal involved as Alina Pash visited Russia after the war broke out in 2015 and she is culturally collaborating with Russia. Ukrainian patriots despise her very much.
I think this is very disrespectfull towards Alina. As an non ukrainien I am happy she won. She is better. She definitly is singing for Ukraine not Russia. As well Russians have family Ukraine. Not everybody voted for Kalush. I watched it. You are just hating on her

There’s a huge scandal because of Alina Pash ‘winning’. Ukraine overwhelmingly voted for Kalush, but judges shuffled the votes and didn’t disclose them to the public. Kalush is the real winner. But Alina has powerful friends in Ukraine and good promotion in Europe, that’s how she ‘won’. Such a disgrace. Everybody in Ukraine I know voted for Kalush and Wellboy and everybody is mad as hell. There is also a political scandal involved as Alina Pash visited Russia after the war broke out in 2015 and she is culturally collaborating with Russia. Ukrainian patriots despise her very much.

I think this is very disrespectfull towards Alina. As an non ukrainien I am happy she won. She is better. She definitly is singing for Ukraine not Russia. As well Russians have family Ukraine. Not everybody voted for Kalush. I watched it. You are just hating on her
