  • When the Second World War (WWII) ended in 1945 and the rest of Europe was beginning to rebuild itself, Greece entered into a second war, more vicious than that fought against the Axis powers.

    The Greek Civil War followed Greece’s valiant defence against the aggression of both Fascist Italy and Nazi Germany in WWII, together with a fierce resistance by the Greek people during a brutal Quadruple Occupation of the country. The ensuing Civil War was ostensibly fought for political/ideological reasons within the wider context of the Cold War.     Very bad video. The pictures shown are almost random: They are not really related to what the narrator says. Most importantly: the narrative is mostly one-sided. It hides key facts.

    As terrible as it was, as a half Greek American, I’m glad that the Communists didn’t win. There are too many mass graves in communist countries.
