I wish there were subtitles. For people who can’t hear and for people like me, who comprehend much faster and efficiently when they have words to follow, allowing double the knowledge absorption. Or something within those lines.
I agree, but you can put the playback speed to x0.75 to make the speed slower! At least until they add subtitles
@Catharsis Wait you actually wanna write subtitles?
YES, THEY CAN BE AUTO GENERATED? PLEASE ALLOW!

Even though short, this is in summary, the best presentation of the Marshall Plan. Congratulations.
George Marshall definitely deserved that Nobel Peace Prize. What a man!
Imagine not even being involved in ww2 and still getting aid from the US

I was in Germany 1951 t0 1953 as an Army dependent and was personally witness to small areas of help given to the Germans by way of the Marshal Plan, however the information just witnessed gave the cut off date as 1951 and didn't mention Germany as part of the countries helped by the Marshall Plan .

The U.S. sends great amount of help vital to the recovery of Europe.
Europe: "We should HATE them"
Who said that?
Yeah!! I don't know why europeans have a lot of hatre towards americans
@@williams6206 There's a lot of "We should be the most powerful empire still, not them" sentiment in France and the UK, and now Russia under Putin
There are two reasons for that
1: Most people are simply dumb and have no idea about geopoltics and history and are often the target of Russian and Chinese propaganda
2: Others have an idea about history and geopoltics, but those are the people that dont want for the US to be a superpower, instead they want their country to be superpower and when others are sending troops, supplies and money to help stabilize them and encourage economical growth they just feel "humiliated" i'll guess.
First as shown in the video, this was not only because of pure generosity. This was for economical reasons, too. Mainly probably.
Also, we are a bir annoyed of this whole "best country in the world" stuff. Not to mention your military records in the last 50 years.

In Italy they claim they had an 'Italian Miracle' in the 1960s 🍀 they haven't heard of Marshall Plan
The US needs to do this with Central America and the Caribbean...
The day that happens is either when the Hispanics finally become the majority in the US.
The problem was, you can't compare Apples to Oranges. You can't say that if it works on Japan and Europe then it will also work in the Caribbean and Central America. The European and Japanese populations are hardworking and industrious, they have a highly-educated, highly-skilled, and professional labor force that's why when they receive the economic aid and assistance, they utilized it efficiently that's why they effectively rebuilt their economies and overall their countries as well. In Caribbean and Central America? Its a different story. Protestant countries tend to do better economically than Catholic countries but work ethic in Caribbean and Central America is similar to that of the US, Europe and Japan, however, working conditions are different, wages and salaries are low, taxpayers' money are mismanaged and goes to corruption, protectionism and closed economies (they should have learned from authoritarian Singapore and "Communist in name only" China and Vietnam's economic success). After all, throwing out money isn't always the solution to the problem.
They ain't white so not happening 😭😭
There’s no reason to. The US is going to just give out free money and rebuild foreign countries out of the goodness of their hearts.
@@seanbrummfield448More or less but many Hispanics do end up assimilating, if you don’t count SoCal

Is it just me or does this video depict the Marshall Plan as way too positive and altruistic?
lmfao? was it not positive and altruistic?
@@TheBucketSkill well it's debatable, many historians such as William Appleman would say that it was only a way for the United States to implement "dollar imperialism" and basically prove its dominance over western European countries
Marc Dittmann The US didnt do it as a favor, it was establishing itself as the dominant power in Europe and showing how capitalism was more succesful. But Europe should be thankful that it happen... the modern democratic capitalist rich Europe we know today wouldnt exist if not for the Marshall plan. It would probably be another impoverished underdeveloped communist shithole
He literally said that the United States also benefited. He mentioned both the boost to the US economy through exports and the political success in containing the spread of communism. Were you not listening?
Can our countries not both benefit from things like this? Isn't that what being allies is all about? Would you rather Europe just leeched off the United States? After we sent hundreds of thousands of our sons and daughters to die in YOUR land for YOUR benefit?
benn454 Europeans tend to conveniently forget their history sometimes. They love to criticize the US, and they completely ignore that the Europe we know today wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for the heavy American involvement.

Marshall - destined to shape European history by marshaling American policymaking
Few things that should hv been done and our today would’ve been much better:
1- the Allies not letting Stalin and his army take one inch from Germany
2- Hitler not attacking the USSR, Stalin wouldn’t hv fought him back
3- the British did not give the Belfour Promise, The Middle East would hv been heaven for tourists from everywhere
1 and 2 is a bit far off reality. The whole point of ww2 was fighting the Communists in the east

Lucas Kunce is running for Senate with the goal to implement a Marshall Plan for the Midwest.
THAT NEEDED IT or who support US and who we can USE AS A TOOL.
While the Marshall Plan was undoubtedly a good thing, part of its purpose was to keep American industry going after the expected drop off following the end of WW II....Europeans were forced to spend the money on American goods even if they could have saved money by trading among themselves. 'America First' has sort of always been with us.
Much foreign aid is tied to American companies.
