At Viking Pump, our data shows that the number one issue that takes any positive displacement pump offline is a foreign object in the fluid. If something as simple as a screw or a bolt falls into
the system the consequences can be devastating to the pump - not only taking it offline but often making the pump completely unusable, requiring a costly repair or a complete replacement. That's where strainers come in. Strainers connect upstream within your process to catch any objects that don't belong in the application. Viking's Lid-Ease basket design allows fluid to flow straight through the strainer and continue through your process without rerouting the flow. In this way, a strainer is a one-time insurance investment that can save your pump from foreign objects. Strainers are not just for protecting pumps but can also be used with boilers, flow meters, filters, burners, heat exchangers, and more. Strainers have removed tools and hardware, welding rods and slag, birds and rodents, rocks, and many other contaminants from systems. To catch different particulates, a variety of mesh sizes are available from 3/16 inch perforations for larger foreign objects or ten to a hundred mesh lining options for very fine particulate protection. Viking offers other options to meet your needs. Our Lid-Ease strainers are a robust, simplex option. Contact your distributor today and protect your production line from unnecessary wear or a potential breakdown.
