"You are sleepwalking and need to go back to bed" is all I need to hear to get me to say OK, turn around and go precisely back to bed. Others may need to be guided but apparantly I dont.
I'm curious as to why a talking tree would spook you out in your own dream. I see all sorts of characters and converse with them and my parents do say I hardly turn while asleep

And when she got up to move he started running out of the house, unlocked the chain AND the deadbolt, and ran all the way to the mailbox Im not a sleepwalker so i don't know how these people are able to navigate like this.
when i saw kid i used to sleep walk also i was the fear of my parents 😂 during midnight walking around kitchen and opening closing refrigerator and eating or drinking something, and talk with wall and some time ask them strange things like my chin is gone 😂
My son learned the hard way the idiom "let sleeping dogs lie" his golden retriever started shaking his leg while asleep. My son tried to soothe him dog woke up, freaked out and almost bit his eye out. He needed stitches, still has a scar. And the dog did realize what happened and sucked up to him for days

My consciousness is below 1/4th the ability when I "sleep walk" I can see, navigate the terrain and find what I'm looking for. In general its activated by glutinous urges, such as finding something to drink or eat. And I generally remember everything when ever I start walking. But I am completely blacked out if I grab something off the night stand like water or food. I have like zero reasoning or mental ability to function as an adult during these night time adventures to find what I'm craving. Lol.
My wife once got the living room remote and hid it under her pillow. I heard her get up, but i just thought she was going to the bathroom, or going to get a drink so i just rolled over and dozed off .. until we got up and then she went to make the bed.. she moved the pillow an said aloud "whys the remote under my pillow?" I told her that i heard her get up but she had no recollection of getting up.. shes gotten better and hasnt sleep walked several years. But it can be strange.
once when i was 4 my older brother was sleep walking and i gently pushed him to wake him up and then he got really mad and punched me multiple times but my parents didnt wake up and i just got beat up for the next 5 minutes because my brother started sleepwalking again. i just went back to bed and hid under my blanket. i couldnt sleep that day ;n;

Similar thing happened when i went on holiday with friends. On of them got up, went to the bathroom, game back, lifted up someone sitting at a different bed, and laid down on that bed to return back to sleep
Im a sleepwalker and can confirm its impossible to wake up a sleepwalker. Ive done EVERYTHING in my sleep...Ive eaten, worked, fought, had sex, tried murdering someone who threatened me....All this and never woke up. Reality gets intertwined with the dream realm so in the same way you dont think before acting in a dream, that transitions to reality so the person is 100% unpredictable. Never yell at them or touch them, just calmly talk to them. The sleepwalker knows they want to sleep so its not hard to convince them to go to bed.
If I ever tried to harm anybody while sleepwalking, then I would either start to lock my bedroom before going to sleep or tie myself somehow to the bed to preven walking while asleep. This is definitely not ok if you don't do any of these.

I was terrified that I would kill someone while sleepwalking, its no fun for me or anyone around me when im in that state. Are you dumb? Sure you can think and solve problems, but if you lock your door and put the key in a bin with 10 keys but only the green one works on your door then you can’t get out of your room while sleepwalking. What are you gonna do? Open your eyes to see the colours? Then you’re awake. You’re a threat to others so maybe actually try keeping yourself in your room.
My mom said when I was sleeping I sleepwalking I stand up and my mom hear I call my brother and she tell me to go back to sleep and luckily I go but to sleep my mom was a little bit scared but she still sleep and I don't even remember that dream and I don't even remember I stand up.

Never saw it myself, but my brother sleepwalked at least a few times in childhood. It flared up again while in the Navy nuke school, and he got a medical discharge. So i suppose submarines aren't safe spaces for somnambulists.
I was on a research vessel and on a rough stormy night, I woke up to my roommate leaving at midnight to take an experimental time point. I fell back asleep and then woke up again to light in my fave and my roommate repeatedly saying, "You're here," which I found super confusing. Turns out here was in his bed in the bottom bunk. I guess sleep me didnt like all the rocking of the boat and put me in the safer bed since my roommate was out of the room. 😂
