  • Welcome to PiggyPower... thanks for coming along.. in this episode I walk you round a bit of a barn find... a Peugeot 204 from 1976!
    Imported into the UK in 2003 and sat in a shed for about 10years...
    Lets see what we have and what needs to be done to get it on the road!
    Next episode I will get it rolling and running and MAYBE a first drive!

    Love these old pugsthey were beautiful cars in their day. Besst riding most comfortable

    My dad had 1 for 11 years comfortable littel car with all round independent suspension and was the 1st front drive car for Peugeot.The gearbox and engine shared the same sump.

      That's right! Suitcase engine. Weird little thing! Almost ready to drive now...been working on the gear linkages today!

    Awesome project. My uncle had loads of these back in the 70s in 204 and later 304 flavour in estate form. Looking forward to it. 👍👍

      @@PiggyPower My abiding memory of was how solid feeling they were - the big super comfortable squashy vinyl seats and cosseting ride. My uncle would always have a large 504 estate for main family duties and as he was a Gp a smaller 204/304 as a runaround and work car. They were my first insight in to the Peugeot brand as a young lad. 👍

      Yeah, they feel (now) very thin. But the seats are like sofas!! I'm looking forward to super comfort! 👌🐷

      @@PiggyPower Yes in comparison to more modern cars they do appear to be quite thin and tinny - but compared to contemporary Ford Escorts they were like a Rolls Royce! Obviously being a car that came from the late 1960s the 304 was getting rather long in the tooth itself by 1976 and it wouldn't be long until the mechanically similar but rather more modern and svelte looking 305 would arrive in 1977.

    I would say rust repairs, rust protection and re commission.
    She is a lovely original survivor and deserves to live again.

      Tbh ..not sure why I'd go through the hassle. I'm not guna drive it without brakes and tyres all renewed or fixed. Chassis is solid but I'll be checking.
      And lights are a no brainer.

    Would love to speak with you personally...
    I own a 72 sedan, the only one that is still running here in Israel.
    Its hard to find parts over here and in general. If you can help me somehow with importing stuff from overseas I would be thankful.

    Piggy you need to build a sleeper out of this, but 1st get it running and see if it will pass the wheel spin test.

      I think ...while it sounds good .. it's too original to mess about with. If it had done a million miles and chassis was rotten...yes. 👍🐷

      Noooot for this one. Too original/low miles. Would lose the MOT exemption too, as the engine would be too new/too many changes.
