Pence comes to aid of collapsed Coast Guard member

- (6 Feb 2019) Vice President Mike Pence traveled to Portsmouth, VA. to visit the US Coast Guard Base Portsmouth on Wednesday, during his formal remarks he assisted a Coast Guard member who fell on stage.
Pence paused during his speech and walked across the stage to help the Coast Guardsman to her feet as other coastguard members also assisted.
The Vice President was at US Coast Guard Base Portsmouth to receive a briefing from DHS Joint Task Force-East, Joint Task Force-West and Joint Task Force-Investigations.
The briefings focused on DHS Joint Task Force efforts to address border security threats, vulnerabilities and risks related to transnational criminal organizations.
The Vice President toured the US Coast Guard Cutter BEAR, and delivered his remarks to the crew and Joint Task Force members before heading back to Washington, DC.

The Coast Guard needs to be appreciated as well, they protect our coast not just from outside threats but also rescues us when we are in trouble at the ocean. VO Pence showed concern for that Coast Guardsman, that's good. That's 1 way of how u show care and concern to them to show your appreciation. God bless the Coast Guard!

After this past month’s events, I have a lot of respect for Mike (I voted for Biden). He is loyal and also a man of principle. The way Trump turned on him and caused his supporters to threaten his life was awful. He stood strong and lived up to the oath he swore to uphold the Constitution. Unlike his boss, he seems to be a genuinely caring person.
