Great content, really clever stuff! Quick question for everyone - I usually shoot with my Nikon and tether it to my Mac using Lightroom. How can I do something similar but by using my iPhone as my camera? I want to snap photos and see them right away on my Mac. Any tips or tricks? Thanks!
Very cinematic footage in this video. For me, I prefer 1.33 for anamorphic filming. It is more natural. To me, when you start going towards 1.55 and above, it makes me think I'm looking through a mail slot. That's just me. For the anamorphic flares, I prefer gold because it seems like a more natural color one would expect in most environments. The blue flare can be distracting as it often stands out more then the rest of the image. Anyway, great work.

Do you need to turn off the iPhone ibis when using the 18mm wide angle and fisheye as well? Or is it just the 133 and 155? I got the ip15 because of the amazing stabilization feature.

I do a lot of livestreams and my issue with recording is when I am travelling on a train early evening and the sun is going down, the reflection is strong and the camera captures me in the reflection. I am looking for a polarize lens, would the lens in your video work for what I am looking for?
I come across more review tutorials for just prerecorded and stilled photos, it would be nice to see how it works for livestreams. Thanks for this video to how the lens work!

I got the Gold Cine Pro Kit Sherpa that comes w/ a 1.33x Gold Anamorphic lens and VND1-5 filter but the filter can't be attached to the lens. Should I get the smaller ND filters separately that attaches to the lens?

I was curious too about that tripod and reached out directly to Freewell for an answer.
Apparently it’s a new model tripod that is scheduled to be released in early 2024.
I was ready to get one of those, but when you mentioned that I can't use stabilization and must have a gimbal, that is definitely a dealbreaker for me. I would love seeing an example of how the footage might suffer without a gimbal. I believe the beauty of filming with an iPhone lies in its simplicity. If I need to attach 500 pieces, then we can just opt for a regular camera
I totally get your concern about the stabilization, but I've found that using this system handheld is still very doable with minimal shake. I brought it on a trip specifically to avoid carrying around a big camera, and the footage turned out great. All the shots with the mountains in the middle of this video were captured using this system handheld, and I'm pretty impressed with the results!

i think this probably the best system for smartphone filmmaking. but 1 thing i notice is that if you buy the lenses, it will not compatible with VND, cause it will use just normal ND. Let me know if im wrong, or maybe freewell will take note of this (maybe hehe)

Regarding the lens protector I am not so sure, I guess as long as its not super thick and doesnt protrude much it should be all good, just in case, you can direct the Q to Freewell's support team, just to be double sure

Definitely gold and 1.33x. 1.33x looks more natural not exagerated, and gold is just more beautiful like warm white light lightbulb rather then bluish white light lightbulb.

I love the 1.33 Anamorphic but I'm not a fan of the LENS FLARE. I have yet find an Anamorphic lens for the iphone that gives a beautiful "soft" lens flare. Many of them are too harsh, very curvy, unbalances versus straight! If anyone knows a real good one please tag me. Thank you.

No, I think the case supports only Pro/Pro Max versions of 13-15th iphones. But you can write them an email if they can come up with some universal mount for different phones who knows!

The free will case leaves a lot to be desired. The buttons are easy to push by mistake and I find it very awkward to use it for the IPhone when I’m not using it as a lens mount.

Looks good but too expensive
Nice content. I notice in all your example footage with the lenses attached, the video is stuttering. I see this with a lot of content on CZcams. In my experience, that usually happens if the original footage is not conformed correctly on the editing timeline. For example, you might shoot at 30fps and then play it on a 24fps timeline. This leads to skipped frames if it’s not slowed down properly. Anyway, no big deal but it was a distraction in your otherwise very nice footage.
