Think you forgot to mention main advantage of foldable prop and that is the prop itsef does not serve as anchor when you crash in to the tree, greatly reducing chance you ll get stuck.

The prop generally stays in the position that it crashed into the tree at and still hangs up .Many a Mavic can attest to that . They can fold away on initial contact and prevent a crash in the first place though.

I’ve flown many packs with these props , they have stayed on my kwad longer than others . And for trees they are awesome. He got caught in the trees and even said something about “he’s still flying “ and yes when the prop hits something it collapses but as you get out of it and before you crash it opens back up and your still flying. They are the same price as other props so I think they most definitely are worth a try before you speak bad about them .

I've tried these props in racing, so my conlcusions are(after 10 total laps and 2 sets of them):
    Pros
-You don't get caught up on gates that easily.
-They feel punchier than my HQ 5.1x4.6
-Little less propwash than the mentioned HQ props
    Cons
-They get mangeld up easily. The blades hit each other and leave indents on the trailing side of the blade. Especially in turtle mode(They turtle alright but you can only do it for a few times before the blades get messed up).
-Its a pain in the butt if you get one blade on the wrong way(Messed with for 10 min. to get it appart witheout braking the hub)
Conclusion: It works for racing okay, but i feel like they needed to add some kind of stopper so the props dont smash into each other. I will definetly wait for a v2, but i feel like they work a lot better for freestyle, especiallty when you hit something and you can still fly home.

I’ve flown 20 packs of these props on my freestyle quad (1900KV Emax Eco, 6S), some of which on a race meet - and I’m loving them. They’re *about* as fast as the Gemfan 51499 (which I love for the sheer power and durability) but feels more locked-in and confident around sharp turns. Throttle feel is, IMHO, on par with the DAL Nepal N1. 150kph punchouts were also super easy; no weird oscillations whatsoever.

I thought that they left 'em disassembled so that you could mix and match three different colors of blades and use a different colored hub. Either way, I think that they may be a better cinematic prop, and the racing/fast freestyle might still do better with the solid hub. Next time, could you guys throw a blackbox log with the debug set to gyro_scaled, then compare the raw gyro spectrum analysis between that and the hq prop. Then you could see if they were well balanced enough and not introducing any new noise in the system. I've seen some pretty bad props looking at 'em this way.

Switching to the T- motor props pretty well solved the Jello issue I was having. UAV Tech had a pretty good prop vid that gave me the hunch to compare the black box log. I'll have to order a pair and check it out.

I guessing the folding decouples the prop blade oscillations from the yaw axis which will improve smoothness and especially nicer on flight controllers.
Add to that the blades are all made int he same mold and will likely be much better balanced when assembled.
If i spend time balancing cyclone 5040 props i can get virtually no jello without a ND filter on a bright summers day.
Sadly i think because of dynamic notch filters props are being made without very good balance lately these will likely be a big improvement of those.

Hi, I would like to learn how to do "wall taps". I had a drone with 2204 2300KV Emax motors, and was planning to update its FC with AIO Mamba F405 MK2, I was wondering, what would be better? upgrade or buy something totally new? (I was considering to upgrade because I already have lots of 5030 props for my current drone spare.) If you recommend something, what should I buy, consider a budget of 4000-5000 MXN, about 200 -250 USD. (Considering that I would have to update my transmitter, as the one I currently have doesn't' support S-Bus) On the other, hand, I plan to buy the FPV not immediately, so I would consider a whole budget part from the previous one. What do you guys think?

my god. just looking at this, crashing really is part of flying fpv. i need to get into making a durable drone because with my dji fpv, i have no confidence to do what i would like to do... great video guys. question, what is the camera angle you all find easiest to fly? i started with 30 degrees but wanted to learn with something that doesnt want you to fly at 100 mph

What if the hub was part of the motor bell... and you only ever replaced the floppies? The transport ability more than makes up for the 3 min assembly time; I spend that looking for a prop tool in my bag.

Do foldable props make less thrust because each blade is a bit smaller? That would be a good test.

You would think so, but because the portion of the prop thats missing is near the hub, you dont lose much power because it isnt spinning as fast as the tip of the prop. the lost power isnt enough to make a huge difference, i was wondering about the weight reducing acceleration speed actually

I've made a mistake by flashing betaflight4.2 with RPM filtering and changing to Dalprop Fold. Now my quad flies amazing and i have no idea is it because props or new tune %)

I've flown about 15 packs on these props and I'll say from experience I'm super impressed. Super durable and I get treed half as often lol. My motors even run cooler on these.

Ugh, that little step-down thing Drew does at 9:55 where he almost skids on the roof is insane

I’d rather swap props then put them together every time 😂 I need to try them though!

Oh no! if it is assembled i go back to normal props .. the cool thing about these props because it is not exactly assembled !, is that if you need to replace a blade, you don't to get out the hum to get the blades .. that's why it's cool because you don't have to replace the prop entirely, you have a bag of blades, i have packs without using the hub! only blades, so keep it disassembled. it is more logical than delivering them assembled .. and with practice it goes super fast! ;) and it takes up less space in the bag .., I needed a blind test to prove to myself that they are good propellers (on the other hand, they are the gemfan .. not the dal .. (and damage that it is not compatible between the brands ..) ...) anyway, thanks for the video, continue guys, it's art at your level;)

I don't think Dal needs to assemble these, assembly is pretty easy and quick. Assemble a bunch before you go fly, change them like you would any props and when you get home make good props out of bad props. I'm curious how much just the blades will cost because you really only need a few hubs if they prove to be reusable. Some other fun tidbits about these dal folding props i've learned after flying them for a few weeks. They don't like florida sugar sand at all. They take up much, much, much less space in your bag fully assembled! They aren't replacing my gemfan 5146.6, but i'll keep flying them.
