- This is the Beautiful Church of St Philip and St James' in Ilfracombe, North Devon. I was fortunate enough to meet Martin who had the keys to the Church Pipe Organ (Dated Circa 1850) and happened to be on car park duty at the Church (I was parking in the Church carpark myself at the time). I get to play a few Hymns on this wonderful Pipe Organ and Martin tells some history about this beautiful Church. It's a Terry Miles Church Quest Extravaganza. Yes... It is a magnificent old Church, with very good acoustics where the wind organ stands out in an excellent way
That took me back over 70 years when I was a choirboy in my village church. One time I pumped the organ during two services and it was very hard work. Thank you Terry

It's so lovely to hear a real pipe organ in an old stone church, that sound is amazing. I love to go to an old church and listen to music when they have some event. That room with the meter thick walls and high vaulted ceiling is giving a fantastic acoustic room.

Encore!! More more more please Terry - these most fabulous instruments deserve to be played and enjoyed. The people who have the skill to make such beautiful music are few sadly, yet there are organs like this in so many churches, just waiting to be woken up. Cirencester St John's has the most incredible beast of an organ and it is regularly unleashed but to hear you releasing the boogie woogie on it would be sublime! More churches please!
