A Short Talk on Ageism in Mokokchung at MTBA Youth Reconnect

- I had the privilege to speak on "Ageism, the New Racism" in a Reconnect Event organized by the Mokokchung Town Baptist Arogo Youth Department for the Crusaders Group (25 years and above). As always, they are really kind and hospitable. Thanks to the @mtba_youth_department for choosing an issue that's most ignored yet affecting our lives every single day in a powerful way. I truly appreciate our Ao folks for always leading our society in several aspects of our lives. Our Churches need to wake up and start discussing the implications of social issues and political issues in our spiritual sphere too.

I go through ageism every day.... Especially at home. Since I am a son I am forfeited to correct my parents way of thinking or perspectives of modern generation on how to build a good and successful life. Yet I have many more things to learn and experience but I do know certain things on how to go about. But the traditional stereotypes of young people shouldn't speak or correct the elders even when they are wrong is something that I cannot accept and that is what binding the youths to express and grow and become successful. Again this is purely subjective and not generalising.

First of all, thanking you for sparking that conversation...it takes a lot of courage to be standing up and talking about sensitive topic such as agesim....I'm from Manipur and Inpui tribe.
My take from this is....our society is socially, politically, and economically structured by gerontocracy, it's not democracy, there are corruption everywhere not just India or Nagaland as a whole...but how the corruption is engineered is important to look at.
So the answer to all these issues is Truth alone...Truth is primarily and ultimately the answer....Truth is not defined through experience but it is REVEALED to us...if we say our older folks have more Truths than the younger generation, that is not true...if we go by that logic...they are wrong because the Biblical Truth is the oldest of all old...it has stood the test of time.
Life without fear of God is meaningless . Old will try to take you down with their experience but when your heart is honest and can connect it with your brain then everything that comes out from your mouth is perfect and respectfully straight . hearing is the biggest weapon for a young person life so listen wisely !;:'"* ⛩️Author Unknown/. ✌️✌️*"':;!
A tree shall be known by its fruits and not by its age. Most of the elders in Nagaland are fruitless or bearing bad fruits. These people are good only for the fire. Respect the good elders and avoid the bad elders at any cost.
Idk now but most of the people own scooters because of practicality in Mokokchung and nearby villages. In a scooter you can carry a gas cylinder and when you go to farm or jungle you can bring plants for the pigs and fire wood as well. It has a place of spare tyre which is quite rare in two wheelers. At one point of time Vespa was a weakness for every AO girl. Even the roaring of its engine makes them scream like in a Taylor Swift concert. But sadly Vespa got replaced by Maruti 800. I used to own two Vespa. One red for the weekend ride to the Akuloto area. Colour makes a big difference in some places, and a green one for the Ao area . I could write a book on Vespa but I'll stop here. And regarding Tamul, it is like a greeting. However, there are two types of Tamul chewers. one with kala satta and the other without. The ones who take it with kala satta are the real Tamul chewers. And the Legends of Ao take it with peri and kala satta. The rest are simply part-time Tamul customers.😅😅
