I've got an apex pro but due to covid all the tracks in my state in Australia are closed and we aren't allowed to cross over to other states at the minute! Great video mate!

Solid review, but an even better overview of data analysis. Great stuff!

I would like to have seen the light bar in action while you do a lap, and then break it down on the screen

Hey thanks for the review. Does the apex pro give you engine oil and transmission temp. This the data I am really interested in. Thanks

How do you like this vs the garmin catalyst? I think the camera is a huge plus for the garmin

Whenever we test cars, we usually have three data systems running while on track: The ApexPro, a VBox Performance Box Touch, and a Garmin Catalyst. This is mostly for redundancy, but they all bring their own strengths to the party. We love the Catalyst as a "one box" solution, or for someone who hasn't had a lot of experience using data acquisition. The Apex Pro is also simple and easy to set up and tear down, but expanding it past the GPS and accelerometer data can get more complicated. Newer releases incorporate video and CAN input channels, but they require additional hardware.
So, long story short, we're big fans of both. Honestly most of the data systems out there these days are pretty good. The key is picking something you'll actually use, because unanalyzed data is irrelevant. So find something that fits in your style and workflow and use it after every session.

Will this work on an offroad course like rally and rallycross? How does it know the overhead view of the track?
And is it only IOS? OR is there an Android option?

@@johnnyturbo8460 we'd love to have an Android app as well, but it's not feasible for our internal structure to maintain another app adequately at the moment. Never say never for the future though....
