Armani has figured out a way to turn a reformulation into a new product launch. I'm not sure how I feel about that, but I have to admit, it's genius!
I actually prefer that. Imagine if all the batches of Aventus came out as flankers or relaunches
@@idiealittleinside8293 might have been smart on their part. They toned down the incense and added a fresher opening. They listened to the (minor negative) feedback on the original Profumo. Just my .02.
I had Profumo 3 years ago, and to this day is in my top 3 fragrances. Used to received at least one compliment per wear. Hopefully there's still enough left in circulation allowing the price to not be too jacked up.
Profumo is a banger. The lady’s love it. Still got a lot left in a big bottle.
I prefer the Parfum. I didn’t care for the strong incense note in the Profumo. Parfum is good to go. The opening is much fresher also and not as pungent.
Yesterday I bought a bottle of Profondo. It's AWESOME! Haven't owned anything from Armani since the OG edt Acqua di Gio. Going to order Parfum as soon as it gets back in stock.

I ordered and received my bottle from Sabina store. I totally agree that it's 90 to 95% of Profumo, so no worries. I sprayed both side-by-side and they are almost identical except for the immediate opening. I have an unopened bottle of Profumo that I can keep unopened now. I suggest if one likes Profumo to go ahead and pick up a bottle of the Parfum.
My take: Armani is moving toward the sustainable bottles so they had to rebrand/rebottle.

As someone who has never owned Profumo I may be in the minority of people who is glad to have a “rebottling” (albeit slightly altered?). If Profumo were not -apparently- being discontinued, I’d probably just pick that up instead. But glad to have a reasonable facsimile that will hopefully be readily available.
Picked up the Aqua Di Gio Parfum at Macy’s and love it!! Macy’s also had Profumo as well. I also picked up a bottle of Absolu and love it!! You can’t go wrong with any of the Aqua Di Gio flankers. My next purchase will be the EDP.
Hey do you still have AdG Profumo at retailers stores in the US? Here in Germany, I feel like it's gone already in the fragrance stores, some online perfume sellers still sell it at expensive prices, which is a shame cause AdG Profumo is my fav of all time, I really hope the Parfum is a worthy successor to it..

Good to hear your take. I agree it's a good choice they just rebottled the Profumo, in the long run a smart business choice. Think of all those discontinued great scents that goes for $$$ in the secondary. We get all upset when people price gouge. This is a fantastic scent that can still be enjoyed and just got a facelift. Some people initially were disappointed with the EDP too but I'm happy with it
I've never received the volume of compliments that I had with Profumo and it wasn't even close. Compliments literally each day I wore it and ranged from men & women, younger & older. I hope Parfum does the same! Great review.. Cologne would be a tough thing to review
That's good information, Ross. Now I can wear ADG Profumo and not worry about running out before getting another bottle. I love this scent and have been holding off on wearing it. Great video.

I definitely don't think you need this if you have profumo. Profumo to me smells like an old man. It makes me think of gray and white hair. This parfum is a fresher, slightly more youthful take. And imo that's why they did it. I now own the OG (2017 or older are the best, pre-L'Oréal), Profondo, EDP, Parfum 👍🏻
I’m running low on Profumo, so going to get the Parfum without Testing. Hope I will not get it wrong.
Thanks for the frank review. I finally tested it today and I smell Profumo. I can tell they spruced it up a bit, but it only deviates slightly. I have enough Profumo to last several years. This doesn't move the needle far enough to purchase for my taste.
Discontinued is code for "cutting costs" and saving $$ on production. Take away 1 note you cant call it the same--put it in a different bottle...you can call it something else. Basically rebranding without having the backlash or the fallout from frag heads saying that it is different. When you think about it--it is actually genius! Remove, add, rebottle, & over charge! Wouldnt be surprised if they do this to Profundo too! People's Champ--as always appreciate and love your videos & as always cant wait until the next one!!
I do have 15 bottles of Profumo but I will get Parfum cuz... I gotta have it. You know how it is when you are a fan of something.

@@PappyMcPoyle-vj4vt The feel is more premium. It doest click, it just fits into place, like sauvage cap. The letters are silver and you have a feel of more luxury product. The smell is different. Stronger, it has waaaay more incense and patchuli, to the point that you dont get the aquatic notes as much. From 2018 you still had 3 years where a mag capand silver letters where there but the smell was different. You could smell this aquatic note way more, which for me ruined the magic a bit. The worst are 2022 versions with no mag cap and no silver letters where the incense is almost gone with umped up aquatic note. The best of the profumo was a special blend which had the longest staying power and the smoothest most refined smell and patchuli. Like a niche profumo. Sadly its hard to come by. The difference is 1% but it made all the difference as it was smoother, stronger and more refined. For me, pre 2018 Profumo was the king and evertything after was only a shadow of it former self. Close but not the OG Profumo from 2016. I still have 3 sealed 180ml bottles from year 1 when it came out. One from 2017 and 6 from 2018. Then 4 from 2019-2021 and one from 2022. I am set but as a fan, I will have to have Parfum. At least 3 bottles.

I have a 4.2 of Profumo probably 95% full still. I may pick this up for collection purposes anyway. I'll get over to the mall soon to sample it and go from there. Still looking forward to it though

Ross you nailed it I never knew what the hype and complaining was about the recent batches of Profumo until I got a bottle with the magnetic cap and I see how much more potent the incense is and I just got my bottle of the new bottle and all I can say is that for anyone who is complaining just be thankful that they didn't get rid of Profumo entirely like they did with the icons Essenza and Absolu Instinct I'm thrilled that Profumo is now available in a badass refillable bottle because if the price of the 5oz refill ends up as inexpensive as the one for the edp JACKPOT
Typically I would be disappointed, but this situation is a rare exception for me
@@TLTGReviews yes I think that it's more cost effective to replace the existing bottle with the metal bottom and the colored box with the refillable one I'm just happy that this scent profile is not fading away
How is it on the incense? In Profumo I find it so harsh, it feels like I am smelling an old priest in a church.

I enjoy the scent but not going pay retail for different looking bottle Armani know what they doing lol. But on a side note just got my Wave Musk and it smells soooo good 🤌🏾🔥

I’ve been wearing Profumo for years, and unfortunately I wouldn’t say they are the same. The new version doesn’t have the incense that you’ve mentioned, it doesn’t have the same amount of warmth and spice to balance out the aquatic note. And that lack of warmth and spice does not sit the same on my skin, chemistry, and the citrus smelling it, turns, almost sour. I’m gonna be buying up every single bottle that I can get my hands on of the old version.
Definitely has the incense. It's toned down from profumo. I'll just be repeating myself here as I thoroughly explained my thoughts in the video
It’s in inbetween the regular Giorgio Armani and the Profumo. It’s not exactly like either one. If you’ve been wanting something fresher than Profumo but not as fresh as the original, then this is it. There’s a slight soap bar tint to it on my skin.

If its a rebottling I'm actually fine with that cause I'll eventually run out of Profumo and now I know I can kinda still get it in a way by buying this new release.
it's extremely similiar. No difference out in the air. Slight freshness change at the top when sniffing up close. A bit more on the greens than the incense like Profumo. Overall, basically a rebottling of a newer formula

Profumo’s opening is not that good, I noticed that for some strange reason most fragrance reviewers swear that Profumo is the best one.. I think that grand majority of people are going to like Profondo and Absolu better.. I think they fixed the opening w the Parfum, instead of getting that nasty pepper it’s sweeter and than it dries down to what makes Profumo amazing, I think it was a smart move on their part, if it was that good they wouldn’t “reformulate it” like most fragrance reviewers are saying just MO

Man what’s with my bottle… I only get like 2 hours of performance on this. Does this need to macerate or something? I like the smell but I’m so disappointed by the performance because if I spray it and drive to work it’s already gone by the time I reach office.

Smart re-branding. Profumo is great, but it has garnered a reputation as an "Old man fragrance" for whatever reason.

Considering the fact that I just paid $216 for a 4.2 oz bottle of this it definitely annoys me that it’s so close to Profumo. Yes it’s an awesome scent and yes I like it but I do have a big bottle of profumo already, so it def annoys me that it’s SO similar. It does it’s own thing sort of in the beginning. A little fresher maybe If you really study it, but so close to the same that it is virtually indistinguishable especially to the people around you. Should have waited for the new JPG Elixir instead. Leave it to Armani to do something like this, doesn’t really surprise me with the way companies are becoming so dirty with their business practices lately.
I have a question. Did you not do any of the following before making a purchase: sample it, read a review, watch a review, look at the note breakdown? I have to ask because all of those options would leave out any surprise that it is so close to profumo

PARFUM bottle looks much more appealing than Profumo...though it would have been better if they didn't ditch the magnetic cap!
Acqua di Gio Profumo was by far the most superior scent of the range and subsequently, i cannot fathom why such a good product has been discontinued. Acqua di Gio Parfum, however, is barely ten percent of Profumo, to my jaded sense of smell which cannot discern any of these notes clearly, at all.

i was very sad and disappointed when i heard profumo was to be replaced by parfum. i love profumo so much that i cant accept any changes done to it. especially when the performance is slightly worse. but after watching ur review i have to give the parfum a chance. hope its gonna be just as good if not better

I'm both a little annoyed and a little relieved that it is a rebottling. I really enjoy ADG profumo and I have about half a bottle left from my 2016 bottle. It's good to know that we won't lose the profumo scent profile completely, but I think a lot of us hoped the Parfum might be something new.
A quick question though; If you had a chance to buy and keep only one of the two (because you found them both at relatively the same price), which would you purchase given that there are minor differences? Asking for a friend 😂

most people are saying that the new parfum resembles profumo only in the drydown. I’ve heard the opening is fresher and sweeter, haven’t tried it yet though.
I will never stop wearing good old profumo, and I’m hoping my 500 ml backup will last a lifetime. it’s the perfect scent for me, and it made strangers ( = women) even PM me because of it after a night out. others would tell me the next day that their pillows smelled of it, one even asked me if I still own that great perfume from back in the day, another one would keep my sweater because of the scent. ADG profumo is the epitome of a compliment monster.

@@kevinsonnenberg2868it does happen, the first time I wore Profumo was at a bbq and people keep asking me what I had. Similar had happen when I wore Club de Nuit Intense and Dior Homme Intense. Especially the Dior Homme intense, I went to a crowded event and was budding shoulders with people who later told me that my scent stayed on them even after they left the event
